Ordered the Bacon PDX Burger and was pleasantly suprised. I dont enjoy bacon what so ever, today this truck caught my attention and it was VERY good. I do recommend. BUT there is was definitely too much salt.

It’s a bacon truck! I’m not really into bacon but I love a good gimmick and I love when you can try new ways to prepare everyday food. I only had a couple of items from Here but they were pretty good and I want to come back to try this peppered sweet and spicy bacon sandwich they had advertised. The pineapple candied bacon was awesome and came out very hot. Warning: You gotta let the hot sugar syrup and crystals cool before consuming! The jalapeño bacon poppers were dope too, but I’ve never had a jalapeño popper I didn’t love. This is a nice food truck and you can get small little bites for as low as a buck fitty so even if you eat a meal at another truck you should stop by this one and get a small bite.

Not overly impressed. Ordered the bacon potato wedges. They were fair at best. The guy running the place was very friendly and brought our food to us in the tent. Might go back, but I’ll try something different if I do

Delicious sandwiches! We got the BLT and the BSSST sandwich, and bacon wrapped potato. All was delicious. Owner was hands on, very friendly, and explained what each item was when asked. Very engaging. No pressure at all, and we even had common topics to discuss. Don’t visit food carts very often, as I prefer to eat indoors, but if I pass by, I may just stop and grab another of these sandwiches.

This place is fabulous; the pork & pineapple slaw are on point. Got the sandwich sans bun and, while delicious, it wasn’t filling enough for the $ 9 price tag. Can’t wait to try the other items on the menu!

If you’re going to name your food truck Bacon PDX, you should make sure your bacon is on point. The bacon here was very forgettable. I ordered the bacon burger and jalapeño poppers. The jalapeño poppers were actually really good. Bacon and cream cheese make a cute couple. Add the spice of the jalapeño, and three is a party. The burger was below average, and the reason for the 2 stars. The burger was overcooked and tasted like it had been boiled. I probably won’t be visiting Bacon PDX again, which is a shame since I love bacon.

I cannot say enough good things about this cart and my experience there. Between a friend and I, we ordered the Double Kaluha Pork Sandwich, Bacon PDX Burger, Bacon Wrapped Potato Wedges and, of course, the Candied-Bacon Wrapped Pineapple w/chocolate drizzle. Every bite of everything was fresh, hand-made, perfectly cooked and delicious. The owner/Chef was friendly, knowledgeable about his products and ingredients and very aware of what good customer service is. Including coming out to check on us mid-year to ask how everything was. This is a great cart, in a good spot with a truly original menu. Go. Eat. Love. Share.

The difference between a 4 star and 5 star review for me is usually the experience, not just the food. I am allergic to gluten and the owner was amazing! Since he made the menu he knew every ingredient. And just really nice. Seriously, it was a pleasure to go here. Bacon jalapeño poppers — a must. I don’t know how he managed to cook the bacon around it like that and it not be soggy or undercooked, but good job dude. The kalua pork(which he made the sandwich into a bowl for me) was divine. I even hate coleslaw but the pineapple slaw that went with it complimented it beautifully. Bottom line, if you eat pork, go here. If you eat pork and are gluten free, you can still go here!(I am Celiac and the cross contamination wasn’t an issue, but there are still gluten components in the cart.)

Tried the bacon wrapped pineapple and was disappointed. The proprietor asked if we wanted chocolate drizzle on the top. We left it up to him. He said it was much better with. The pineapple was not fresh, so it was super super sweet out of the can. The bacon was soggy and not at all crisp as I expected. Now I thought that $ 1.50 would get real chocolate, but nope, Hershey syrup. Oh well, I tried it!

I made a mistake in my last review. I was confused about how much bacon was suppose to be in my friends order. It doesn’t look like he got jipped. I will def be back to buy more great food here

I had the pleasure of visiting Bacon PDX after wandering into its food pod and being entranced by the word Bacon calling to me from its place, boldly emblazoned across the cart’s enticing veneer. As any true bacon lover would do, I approached. Enticed by the owner’s friendly demeanor and cleanly kitchen, I ordered both of the sandwiches, the jalapeño poppers, and the pineapple bacon bites to split with my friend — none of which proved to disappoint. The sandwiches are carefully and meticulously constructed, leaving you with the feeling that everything is in its place — before the taste gets into you and you tear it apart with your mouth anyway. For me, the real winner was the truly must have chocolate, pineapple, and candied bacon bites. Though their small size may initially cause you to question the value, your taste buds will reassure you that everything is A-OK. Update: After several repeat visits, the Kahlua Double Pig Sandwich is now my staple dish here. There’s a hefty helping of both pulled pork and cilantro, while the pineapple slaw sweetens up the otherwise savory dish to really make it something special.

We were probably the first people at Bacon PDX that morning we went and the fellow working in the food cart was very nice and approachable. We tried the kalua double pig sandwich, the popeye frittata(spinach, bacon, pepper-jack cheese, mushrooms), as well as the bacon wrapped pineapple(2 orders, one with chocolate sauce(a.k.a «crack sauce», one without). The sandwich was pretty good, pulled pork was tender, not dry with good flavour and the pineapple slaw was a great complement(freshing with a good acid balance). There wasn’t anything really special about the frittata, unfortunately. The bacon wrapped pineapples were delicious but a bit pricey and was better without the squeeze of chocolate sauce.

The food was excellent. I had the Kailua double pig sandwich, which was flavorful. Not to much BBQ sauce and the slaw was amazing, could have used more of that on it. Also had the bacon wrapped pineapple which was fantastic. Just the right amount of food and a good price.

Five stars for Bacon PDX. I tried the Kalua Double Pig sandwich & I have to say that this sandwich will have me returning to Bacon PDX again. The wonderful flavors of sweet & savory combine perfectly with this sandwich & make for an absolutely satisfying meal. The owner, Dave really made the overall experience that much more pleasant. He is a wonderfully friendly man with an excellent sense of customer service & a sincere appreciation for the business that he receives. Thank you again Dave!

The man working was so so friendly. We actually came here to try a different food cart and we stopped here as soon as we walked by and saw a customers food, it looked amazing! So we grabbed what he had, and so glad that we did– Kalua Double Pig Sandwich, we also tried the dessert: pineapple chunks wrapped in candied bacon(ask for him to top with chocolate), frittatas are great too! Amazing. We will be back FORSURE!

Wow. Stopped by the Rose City Park food pod and Bacon PDX immediately caught my eye. Had the Kalua Pulled Pork Sandwich($ 9) which was delicious. Thick slices of crispy bacon, creamy pineapple coleslaw, BBQ sauce, fresh cilantro, and a healthy portion of tender pulled pork all in a perfectly baked roll. Downed that pretty quickly and went back for the candied pineapple bacon dessert which is pretty much crack. Dave, the owner, even let me try the candied date bacon piece, too. He added a drop of caramel, and I swear all the stresses of my day melted away in that tiny bite of heaven. I never post reviews on Unilocal, but people need to know about this place. Such a great local spot to check out. If you’re visiting in town and staying at the airport area, it’s super close to Howard Johnson, Travelodge, and all those other hotels around here. My hotel didn’t even know about this food pod when I asked for recommendations so I’m very lucky to have stumbled across it. Bacon + anything = LOVE

Why visit this cart? Because bacon. I visited this cart a couple weeks back — when the owner had only been open for four days. I recommend getting the Kalua Pig Double Pork Sandwich($ 9). The owner toasts a hoagie roll, adds two strips of bacon, 4 oz of kalua pig, cart-made BBQ sauce, pineapple cole slaw(also made in house), and cilantro. The kalua pig is slow cooked for about eight hours and falls apart to juicy, tender pork love. Pandas love protein. You can also get jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon, bacon-wrapped dates, and pineapple wrapped in candied bacon. Heck, you can get bacon by the strip — and be sure to get the premium stuff.

Y. U. M. We had some of the bacon-wrapped pineapples and a frittata. Delicious. Nice owner. Will be back to try some of the sandwiches when the next bacon craving hits.

This place was great. Very friendly guy owns the joint. Try the kalua bacon sandwich you won’t be disappointed. Super tender Hawaii style pulled pork with bacon and slaw? Yes please. I showed up late to closing time and the owner gave me a free upgrade to his«special» cooked bacon. It was divine. You can tell that this guy is a bacon fanatic and for good reason. It adds extra flavor to just about anything. He also offered me and my lady free bacon wrapped dates. Perfect combo of salty and sweet for a bit sized dessert. Tasty!
