Went here twice to get an adjustment. While very knowledgeable, on the second visit I mentioned that the adjustment didn’t seem to be working. I was told it was probably a different issue and Dr. Bender kind of just wrote me off and told me I should see her massage therapist on site. It was at the end of the day and it seemed like she just wanted to get out of there for the day. I was told I was going to be contacted that next day, but never heard from them again. Disappointed.

Just had a great massage with Sari. Also Dr Jan is a phenomenal chiropractor.

I’ve been going here for several years and I’ve definitely been to my share of chiropractors and massage therapists.
Dr Jan, Billy the massage therapist, Tina, Chelsea, the absolute best!
The main point is that I get relief from pain I’ve had for the last 40 years…
RELIEF! Not just for a couple of days, but for weeks.
Neck and shoulder pain had been my constant companion. While I had felt comfort from the chiropractic treatment and massage briefly, it was only briefly. With Avista Chiropractic I am actually pain free for extended periods of time.

Avista is THE best team of chiropractic and massage services. Dr. Jan can always find the problem and get me back on track, and she is excellent with maintainence adjustments. Always letting the patient decide if additional visits are needed or wanted. Combined with the skillful massage techniques provided by Sari, I can always count on feeling great when I leave their office. Truely caring professionals who focus on client well being and education! Once you experience their knowledgeable and effective treatment you will be hooked.
Central location, quick scheduling, usually always able to get you in, free parking lot, convenient hours. Do your self and health a favor and meet this amazing team. :-)

I just LOVE this place. Great staff, great doctors. The combo with the massage and adjustment is just perfect and I can complete it all on my lunch hour. I always go back to work refreshed. The Dr’s and the massage therapists also give tips for stretching mid week to help ease back and muscle pains.

Never had a better chiropractor in my life. Not even close. And I have had 4 previous chiropractors over the last decade.
Jan’s adjustments always make me feel great. Plus she explains what she’s doing, why she’s doing it, what may cause my ailments, and how to stay healthy, among other things. She really cares about her clients.
MOST importantly, she does not try to hard sell me on a next visit, or on coming back every week, or every day, or every billable minute. Of my previous 4 other chiropractors, every one of them would do this. I just stopped going to each of them in large part because of this (of course, now I realize that they were also not very good at their jobs).
Additionally, I have been very happy with the massages from Sari. She is friendly, professional, a joy to work with. And even though she’s little, she really gets in there.
Just got done with an appointment and I am flying! After 4 months of going to Avista, I would not even try somebody else. If my insurance stopped covering it, I would still go here.
I should send a bottle of wine to the friend who referred me.

I started going to Avista in 2002, after 1.5 years of failed physical therapy for a severe car accident I was in. After about 6 months, I was almost as good as new. I have worked with both chiropractors here and they are fantastic at what they do. What I really appreciate is that they take the time to listen and figure out what your life is like — whether you are sitting at a desk for 12 hours a day, or have a kink in your neck, they tailor each visit to correct and improve.
I have recommended this place for years and have only just gotten around to reviewing — but this is THE place to go! Also fantastic is that they are in a central location downtown and have a parking lot, so you don’t have to circle for years trying to find a space.

It’s no secret that I have been in numerous fender benders.
Don’t be scared of me; it is not my fault if the guy behind me was busy texting and couldn’t be bothered with watching my rear end. Or if the gal next to me decides she prefers to be in my lane and pays no mind to the fact that I am still in it. There was also the drunk driver that did not wait for her left turn signal and hit me head-​on (hello bilateral knee surgery). See? How could anyone blame little ol’ me for these car-​tastrophes.
So when I am all bruised, banged up, and getting whiplash inspired headaches, I turn to chiropractic care in addition to my medical doctor that gives me those good drugs.
I have been to many chiropractic practitioners in my day and have been most impressed with Dr. Jan Bender at Avista Chiropractic. I have trusted her to mend my many injuries for years. She is not like any of the chiropractors that I have treated with before. In my experience with others, they get you in and start crunching your bones. Jan uses a lighter hand. She still makes adjustments but her techniques are such that I do not feel traumatized after my visit. Often, she uses an adjustable table and lets your body weight do the work during an adjustment. When needed she will do a traditional chiropractic adjustment. She has all of the equipment in her office that one would expect when visiting a chiropractor and then some. Her office can also address your nutrition and wellness concerns, and oh, my favorite part, she has a masseuse.
The staff at Avista is tops as well. Any time I have had to leave a message to schedule, my call is promptly returned and I can’t tell you how many times they have stayed late so I could get in to see them the same day. If you are in the market for chiropractic care, I recommend Avista and Dr. Bender.

I’ve been to a few chiropractors and Jan Bender is the best one I’ve seen. Great at finding the problem areas and getting them adjusted. All of the massage therapists I’ve seen so far have been great too. Very impressed and I highly recommend Avista.
