Astro #238

Lousy business owner. I live in the neighborhood and will not purchase gas here as long as the fence for no other reason then blocking cars so they can’t potentially stop at the Mini Mart (Wisebuy) next door is up. I have stopped in the past on my way out for the day to get a drink at Wise buy only to realize that I need gas too. That is how business is suppose to work, simbiotically. Instead this greedy, ignorant, business unfriendly owner cuts off his nose to spite his face! Have your corralled parking spaces and keep your gas. I’ll go to any of the other ones.

This is my neighborhood gas stop. Owner has put up a completely silly fence to stop people from parking next to the market next door. For no reason. They are not even competing businesses. It’s… odd. Anyway, I can’t support a business that creates this sort of tension with its neighbor.

I am only giving this place one star because i have too. I pulled up to get gas after a long night at work and the person working told me that he would not sell me gas because I was drunk and my eyes were blood shot. I had just work a 10 hour shift and I wear contacts. Then when I was leaving the guy who was working told me to f off and flipped me the middle finger. I will not be got to that place again and I will be contacting the manger, owner, and the corporate offices!!!

I don’t even live in this neighborhood, but I was passing by and needed gas. A woman named Rhonda was working and was, without comparison, the NICEST, most cheerful gas attendant I have ever experienced. She even asked if I wanted my front and back windshield washed and did so with great cheer. I couldn’t believe it. I thanked her effusively and she said, «Well of course I would wash them!» as if this was normal.
I have lived in Oregon for more than 10 years. In a state where every station has attendants filling the tank I have encountered maybe two who offered to wash my windows (even when slow) and they were never HAPPY about it. Rhonda and this station must have something special in the water.
Fill your gas tank here if you need a little sweetness from your service folks.

It’s my neighborhood filling station. They have gas there. They put it in my gas tank and then trade me for money. They have quite possibly the friendliest gas station staff I’ve ever come across in my life (including a brief stint by my own blood kin, when my brother worked at Amoco, he wasn’t even that nice to me), and consistently for years, too.
I don’t know where they get these folks, but I swear to God, it’s sunshine and roses every time I pull up to the pump.
It’s cheaper than the other Astro on the other side of Powell. It’s not creepy like the weird ghost town Shell down Holgate.
I repeat: sunshine and roses. I have no reason to not 5-​star.
