It’s really hard to make me leave a bad review somewhere. But if this store wants more business, especially from visitors from different states train your cashiers on customer service and hospitality. I should have got her name but I just left there so whoever works the register on Wednesdays at 4pm needs further training on customer service. I was just asked to leave after asking too many questions. She was so rude if and when she amswered. Asking real questions and ready to spend quite a bit of money there because the merchandise there is super cool and besides her such a cool vibe. I’ve never been so anooyed and offended by capper customer service. Pretty bummed out about my visit.

I stopped in here based on the store name alone and ended up walking out with a pretty bad-ass locally made ring. I didn’t realize when I came in that the store, or at least this location, is primarily dedicated to thingz for menz, but that certainly didn’t stop me from finding more than a few nifty items that would look good in my apartment. The clothing for women wasn’t really my style, but to be fair, I don’t really have much of a style beyond tees and tanks with animals on them. I like the guys’ style here for sure. Some definitely sexy dude attire lives here. The guy working was so incredibly nice and personable– a trait I’ve found to be common amongst Portandians… or is it Portlandites? I dunno, man, but they’re all friendly as f*ck and I could really get down that sort of jam on the regular. I’m only in Portland for a few days but I’m going to try to make it to Animal Traffic’s other location, which I’ve read is the more lady-friendly location, and hopefully has more of that bad-ass jewelry that I’m digging so hard right now.

This store has intriguing«I want to purchase» merchandise and I purchased a $ 125 shirt for my son’s birthday. He loved it, wore it and washed it. It shrunk. Animal Traffic said: 1. we do not accept merchandise two weeks after it is purchased YET i asked at the time of purchase, since it was for a later birthday, if a return would be possible post two weeks and they said a return would be no problem; 2. the owner states they did not accept worn or damaged merchandise which I found not be acceptable customer service, especially for such an expensive item. I suggest the issue is how they work with customers and the extent to which they stand by their merchandise. I am disappointed in what clearly is a money-first issue rather than a well-intentioned customer-first issue. We argued, the owner finally agreed to contact the shirt maker and see if they would agree to taking the shirt back. I await their response. There are other items in the store that I would be interested in purchasing, but not if the attitude toward customer service doesn’t change. karen knight P. S. The owner just called and said because I wrote a bad review they had no interest in helping me. Fair.

Great store. Spoke with an employee there named Bri. She was super helpful and very knowledgeable on the products they were selling. Being from Arkansas, she went a step beyond and gave us suggestions of other places in PDX to check out during our stay. Looking forward to our next trip to PDX and to the store. Quality products.

Animal Traffic gears toward the more western almost cowboy inspired clothing, however, I still found some stuff that would work for me. Prices were all over the map and some a little too over priced for me to consider paying. The store is large with lots of selection. Customer service is friendly.

This location of Animal Traffic is primarily focused on mans. Want lady vintage Western wear, including cowgirl boots? That’s the Mississippi location. This spot traffics in new, not vintage, men’s clothing, boots, shoes and man grooming items. They form a complement to, not a duplication of, the growing Portland independent apparel shop district bounded by SW13th, Alder, Broadway and Burnside, primarily focused on female associated apparel. This store is heavy on Pendleton shirts, sweaters, scarves and even trucker-style hats of Pendleton wools. Outerwear and some rustic dress shirt lines. Scarves in Winter. For women there are some Pendleton purses and bags. For all there are canvas bags, and a collection similar to the Mississippi store of reissued vintage knapsacks. They are big on man soaps and shaving preparations. They also have some classic boot and shoe lines which are mid-priced, like Red Wing. Moccasins. They remind me of Hecklewood, but don’t duplicate Tanner. They are good for man apparel and grooming items, and, of course, ladies seeking same.

A little pricey but some great merchandise and friendly service. I agree with another reviewer who wrote«the selection here is smaller, more boutique-y and pricier». Nevertheless, I will return. It;s also a local business.

In one sentence. They are lame. I purchased a pair of Minnetonkas that I now know are famous for running huge. I took them home and realized this. I went back to the store to exchange them a couple of weeks later only to be told unfortunately I had too many issues with this exchange. Say what!!! Apparently you have 5 days to exchange. First of all: very uncool but I guess your store-your polices. Second: The store needs to verbally say that to people at every purchase Ex: are you familiar with our exchange/return policy?. as a fair warning because its not the norm and it is very stringent. Next I was told that not having the box was an issue. I didn’t because the store had it. I never took it with me so i cant possibly have it. If thats a problem for returns the clerk should have told me when i refused it that i would need it in case of an exchange. And finally I was told my credit card statement was also unacceptable because it didn’t list what the article was. Considering it was the exact price of the shoes i owned, what the hell else could it be! Not to mention I only wanted an exchange and the Minnetonkas were in perfect shape. I like to support local if youre cool but if you’re greedy and uncool it won’t happen. Purchasing something and finding out the fit is not right or it doesn’t work out the way you thought once you are home happens, I know b/c I shop a lot. Within reason a store needs to accomodate happily and with a smile. Exchanging a shoe in perfect condition 3 weeks later with a credit card reciept for a smaller size is a reasonable request, expecting the customer to get stuck with the shoes loosing their time and money b/c they are past the 5 days and only had a cc reciept is not. I’m never shopping here again. There isn’t a thing at this store I can’t get in over 20 other places. Places were they’ll be nice to me not just when I’m spending my money but also cool to me when I have a reasonable problem. As for the Minnetonkas at least now I know my size and ill get them from Zappos free shipping both ways if you need to exchange! The big ones Ill donate to Goodwill and turn this lame-o experience into something positive. Stay local yes! But stay cool first!

B.S. Show us your books! You where selling the Hathorn Explorer Lace-to-Toe Logger as a Whites Smoke Jumper, not the Hothorn Smoke Jumper, but Hathorn Explorer Lace-to-Toe Logger which is not at all the same boot at all. You Had it at 310.00 with a hand writen tag. I fact i recall asking the gall working about it and she new they where way over priced too. I emailed pictures to a friend for a laugh, I will post the pictures if i can find them on my phone… Not one ounce of B.S. in my storie. Your Pendletons where grimey and way over priced. And then the Jansport 140.00, that I have seen for 80.00… So as i said, show us your books… W.K. And sham on you for even getting on here and trying!!!

Well where does one start… well first. the prices for the same product that you can get at their other location… they jack up their Pendleton shirt prices by $ 15−20…Really…I guess the hipsters from the Pearl couldnt be seen down on Mississippi. So I guess that explains the price jump… next…well there is not much else there… ok some jackets and some back packs that dont really go with the vintage look… OHOH they did have a reed diffuser… I sweared it smells like leather… only good thing about the shop(well the young lady was very sweet behind the counter) I will shop at their Mississippi location… I dont mind being seen down there.

This is Animal Traffic’s newest location in the Pearl District. The selection here is smaller, more boutique-y and pricier than the Mississippi St. locale. They’ve got a great rack of Pendleton’s here. Nothin’ like a good Pendleton — makes me feel all bearded and warm and fuzzy inside.
