Alima Pure

I Ordered a bit of makeup including the find your match sample box. I did not receive any Extra Samples that everyone talks about getting with their orders. I still can’t find my match because they all blend into my skin like butter. Frustrated because i wanted to like this company and its product. Spending $ 60 you would think they would send at least 1 sample :(

After waiting weeks for my order to arrive, I finally called customer service to see what was up with my order. Their response? «We shipped it. If it gets lost in the mail it’s not our fault. Sorry.» I asked them if they could file a claim with their shipping service so that they could refund me and I could place a new order, but they refused. Said «Once we ship it, it’s out of our hands. You can file a claim yourself if you want.» So I had my credit card reverse the charge, since I never received the order I had paid for. Thanks for nothing Alima Pure. I understand that things get lost in the mail. And I understand that there may not be any specific fault on their end as it pertains to the shipping. But at the very least an apology and an offer to refund my money or replace my order was warranted here. I have no idea if the quality of their product is up to par, but I can definitively say that their customer service is lacking.

I have been a loyal customer of Alima Pure since 2012, and I’m very impressed with their product, color range, and customer service. This is the only makeup I can use because I have very sensitive skin, and they have over 60 shades for all skin tones. Most companies only offer a very narrow range of what sells, and I find it really encouraging that they continue to stock the hard-​to-​find shades. I have light olive skin and it is impossible to find reasonable shades from other retailers. Each jar lasts me a really long time. You can get sheer to full coverage depending on how you apply it. I start off with sunscreen and primer, and then I apply sheer-​to-​medium coverage once in the morning, and my skin looks great all day. I am Sicilian with combination/​oily skin, so finding a foundation that works for me was a big deal.
I have ordered from Alima Pure dozens and dozens of times, and most of the time my order qualifies for free shipping. However, even paying $ 6 for priority mail shipping is extremely reasonable and it always arrives quickly. I LOVE the fact that they ship via USPS Priority Mail, which was extremely convenient for me when I lived in rural Alaska.
I can’t say enough great things about Alima Pure, and I recommend their line to everyone who wears makeup.

It’s hard to find accurate and legitimate reviews for Alima Pure. After trying their horrible makeup and matching customer service, I truly believe that 95% of their reviews are fake.
I asked if I could just pickup my order since I live blocks away, figured I’d save money on shipping. I received a call from Alima Pure that sounded like my request freaked them out saying «We don’t normally do that, but I guess this one time is okay.» Uh, ok, you could’ve said no. I was then charged for shipping.
I walked in the door of Alima Pure and not one person stood up to greet me. I said that I was there to pickup my makeup and a woman sat in her chair and held out the makeup bag for me to grab. No thank you for your business, have a great day, let us know if we can help, etc… I mentioned that the only reason I wanted to pick it up was because I lived close and didn’t want to pay for shipping, which I had been charged. The woman said «We will refund the shipping.» That’s it?! No sorry?
I was impressed with the mineral makeup for the first half hour I had it on, then it easily faded away after that. If I reapplied it, it felt caked on. Besides, who wants to pay that amount of money for something you’re going to burn through.
I truly hope my review deters people from purchasing from them. There are MANY OTHER BUSINESSES that are dying for you to try out their products. Alima Pure is obviously doing so well that they don’t need any more customers.

wow. this is the ONLY mineral makeup that does not break out my oily-​acne prone yet super sensitive skin. I have rosacea and generally get bumps and redness from just about anything, but alima has been utterly fabulous, stays fresh all day and leaves absolutely glowing skin in its wake. i am so glad to have found them on a recent trip to portland and now order online from nyc. great site, great service great products. love them!

I just bought my first Alima Pure foundation today and I was so impressed! Great coverage, it made me look like I had great skin (which I regretfully don’t have) and it didn’t feel like I was wearing makeup! I don’t know how I stayed with bare minerals for so long. I am glad their products are all natural.

Alima has quickly become my favorite mineral makeup. I was quite scared to switch to loose from pressed minerals, but with Alima’s quality I need not be.
Shade selection, as others have said, is wonderful. Very forgiving, and the samples are a convenient and inexpensive way to try different shades and textures out.
On a whim I ordered the brush recommended to apply the foundation with, and what a wonderful whim that was! I thought I had a hood brush before, but this makes the tiniest bit of powder apply like a dream.
I am enjoying the eyeshadows I ordered as well, and trying to master loose eyeliner.
Bonus points for gorgeous packaging (I really hated to dispose of it) and their commitment to being ecology friendly.

It would be so easy and convenient for me to just hop on to the Bare Minerals train, but I’m really trying to make a concerted effort to be as «green» as possible. Alima is cruelty-​free and I really like what they’re about. Check out their website — you’ll see what I mean.
OK, my disclaimer — I hate wearing make-​up; And when I say hate, I really mean LOATHE, DETEST, Would-​rather-​wear-​a-​mask type of hate. When I put on my Primer Powder and a light coat of the foundation, I forget I have anything on, AND I receive compliments throughout the day (is it really a compliment or a statement of how bad I must look without the magic minerals!?).
Seriously, I’m approaching 40 and in the past few years, I’ve really begun to notice the chemistry of my skin — facial skin, especially. Thankfully, I haven’t really broken out in my adult years, but my skin is not even-​toned; there’s just a lot goin’ on. Since I’m doing a better job with my skincare regimen, I thought it would be the perfect time to commit to a makeup line for those times when I know I really should «put on my face.» Now, I’m using it daily (ask anyone who knows me and you’ll soon realize this is a huge undertaking for me).
From the quality of their products, to their personalized customer service and packaging, I can’t help but highly recommend Alima Cosmetics.

With so many brands of mineral make-​up out there, it’s tough choosing which one to try first. Fortunately for me, I found it on my second try. Alima was introduced to me through a member on livejournal and after one set of samples, I was hooked!
Their samples are very generous and cheap and you get free samples of other products with your ordered samples! How cool is that?! They also give you a chance to mix and match to find your perfect shade. If you are like me, you’ll find that it’s not that easy to find one foundation/​powder that matches your skin perfectly.
I love the satin matte foundation. My skin feels soft like a baby’s behind! And the fact that it gives my face a natural glow and not oily is even better! Which is very important seeing as how my T-​zone tends to get quite shiny by the afternoon and even more so during the summer.
Again, through the recommendation of a member on livejournal, I incorporated the mineral foundation into my daily moisturizer for that flawless look without the fuss that comes with mineral foundation. The result? Great looking skin daily!
Oh, did I mention that you get an even bigger portion of samples when you order the full-​size products?! Yup! And the samples are different every time, too. Great marketing strategy to lure us in to their wide array of beauty products! And I admit it, they got me!!!

I just discovered Alima Cosmetics (mineral makeup) and I’m in love! The first great thing about them is that they are a local Portland company. The second great thing is that they have SAMPLES of every item they sell ($ 1-​$ 1.50). I ordered a bunch of sample powders, shadows and lipbalm in a variety of colors and quickly determined which colors were best for my skin tone — before I spent a ton of money on full-​size products. The quality of the product is also great … I’ve tried various store-​brand mineral formulas and they were really disappointing. Alima cosmetics makes my skin look wonderful. Highly recommended! :)
