Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom

Great venue and layout! I have been here for two events. The staff is all excellent.

I attended a Salsa dancing class and party here. It is very pretty inside and they had plenty of room for a few hundred people.
There was also a full bar there which was needed to help loosen up the body for some Salsa (aka give me confidence to try and Salsa.)
I think the acoustics for a live band weren’t the best, but I could see this being a great place for a wedding or engagement party.
Not sure on the cost to rent the place out. The fee to enter was $ 15 (VIP) or $ 10 general admission.

I would need to break this review down to 3 components to really be honest, and cover my entire experience at the Adrianna. 1.) Working with Jessie Robinson; the part owner of the ballroom and on-​site coordinator, 2.) The venue itself and food 3.) Experience the day of our wedding.
1.) My now Husband and I were completely lost and overwhelmed with the whole wedding process, and when we found the Adrianna Hill Ballroom it was beautiful, but really Jessie was our deciding factor. She was so helpful, personable, and really guided us through the entire wedding process, not leaving any detail or stone un-​turned, she was such a great help in numerous ways all the way up to our big day.
2.) The venue itself was beautiful, the big, deep blue ceilings, the architecture, everything about it was exactly the feel we wanted in for our wedding, vintage and romantic. You do not need any extra decorations, the ballroom it’s self is stocked with extra vases, votives, and candles, that you can use, and in all honesty the space is so pretty, there’s not much else you need.
The food was also very good, it is a buffet style, and with that my husband and I were afraid that the food might sub-​par, but we were very happily proven wrong, the Chef is excellent, and the food was great, we loved the beef tenderloins!
3.) Now for the day of, and why I ultimately gave the venue only a 3 star review. I don’t believe a review is useful unless it’s as honest as it can be in all aspects of your experience, so I really want to make my review useful and informative to future brides and grooms since I know now first-​hand how stressful, and challenging the whole wedding process can be! Our wedding started off well, however I could tell something was amiss between my bridesmaids and Jessie our wedding coordinator. Specifically, my groom had requested help from the bridal party to set up a guest book photo tree that was kind of a last minute after thought that we wanted to have. My girls went to go set up the guest book area for us and came back looking very flustered but refused to tell me what was going on, wanting me to focus on being the bride. I could tell throughout the night something was upsetting them but did not know until the next day what exactly was happening between them and my coordinator that was upsetting them so much. Apparently, Jessie, although very attentive to me and my husband, was very condescending, and controlling over everything they were trying to help us with. She would yell at them, make belittling comments, and even put a hand on one of my bridesmaids, which was absolutely shocking to me. I was so offended and upset that this was happening right behind my back, and that ultimately my bridal party’s entire experience of my wedding was marred by this negative experience with Jessie, it was so disappointing.
Now, even though Jessie was very attentive, and treated my husband and I well, we consider our bridal party to be an extension of ourselves, these people are very close to us, and was an invaluable part of our wedding process that should have been respected and regarded with the same standard of professionalism that was given to us. And to know that they had such a terrible experience to the point that they couldn’t even enjoy the wedding day, this still keeps me up at night, and when I look back at our big day it casts this upsetting cloud over it. I feel like this could have been alleviated with more communication, and setting up boundaries, and clear guidelines as to what is to be expected of the coordinator vs the bridal party. However, in all honesty putting your hands on someone is truly inexcusable. So, my biggest advice for future brides and grooms is not to be deterred from choosing the Adrianna for your big day, the venue itself is beautiful, the food is great, and Jessie was a huge help in planning everything all the way up to the wedding day. However, for us making sure that everyone had a good time was our biggest priority, and to know now that our bridal party, the people closest to us had such a negative experience really kind of nullifies everything else leading up to it. I hope this review will assist others in making an educated decision, because everyone deserves to have a fabulous wedding day!

I had my high school prom here. That as eons ago. I don’t remember much about the Adrianna ballroom back then. It didn’t leave an impression on me, even at an impressional 18 years old, I must have just felt «meh» about it. Fast forward to 2015, I still have the same «meh» feeling. I attended a wedding here and the wedding itself was beautiful, but the venue was not convincing. For one, it was hotter than hell up on the balcony. I was melting, my face was melting off, it was just not very pleasant. Thank god for the bar upstairs, but I wish they had a food buffet set up in the upstairs area, as well. However, that was not the case. The inconvenience wasn’t so much having to go downstairs to get the food, it was an issue going back upstairs with my food. I had a long dress on and I could have bit it going back up while balancing my plate of food. There were some older individuals and it may have been even more of an issue for them if they are unsteady on their feet. Sound system wasn’t good, it was difficult to hear the bridesmaid and groomsmen speeches. I couldn’t see the bridesmaids as they were giving their speech. I would suggest they mark it on the stage where speakers should stand so all of the audience can see them on the main floor and up in the balcony.

Great Venue and great location. Unfortunately, alcohol prices are astronomical and they apparently can’t pour shots? Yes, it is true that it is unbearably hot in the summer months there because there is no AC. Food was not very good and bland.

For the most part it was great. Food was terrific, and beautiful décor. Jessie was wonderful to work with, and was very helpful during our reception… until the speakers stopped working a few songs into the dancing, and she was nowhere to be found. She had assured us the sound system was great. Kind of put a big damper on the party. So if you’re going to go with this place, better bring a DJ. Also, it got extremely hot in there without AC in September.

Wedding date: 7÷13÷14
I want to start off by saying that Jessie is AMAZING and my special day wouldn’t have been flawless without her! My husband is in the military so setting our wedding date wasn’t as easy as it is for most people. Jessie was so helpful and made it very easy to move our dates around. She was there with me every step of the way with picking out colors to helping with our wedding song choices! She made everything stress-​free which is what every bride needs! She helped show everybody in the wedding party what needed to be done during rehearsal and helped my husband and I through every little detail beginning with how to walk me onto the dance floor to how to hold my hand while cutting our wedding cake.
Along with Jessie being absolutely incredible and helpful, the venue itself was stunning! It was great to be able to have the ceremony in the ballroom, then have the guests go upstairs for a drink while the crew set up for the reception in the ballroom.
I would recommend this venue to anybody! Every little piece about my wedding day was perfect thanks to Jessie and the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom!

This place was absolutely beautiful. The only problem is there’s no AC. It makes it hot for a summer event. They do cater, and the food is excellent. Best lasagna ever.

One of the most beautiful ballrooms I’ve seen. The ballroom itself doesn’t need much decorating, maybe just some colored lighting to match your wedding theme. The ballroom/​wedding coordinator Jesse is sweet, thorough and very patient, she will do anything it takes to make your day special. I was ¹⁄₃ of the way into planning and unfortunately couldn’t do my wedding anymore. Both the owner and Jesse were understanding and gave me more than the contract refund of my deposit. I will definitely have my wedding there when I am able to.

Beautiful venue located near Fox Tower & Paramount Hotel. Unfortunately, we experienced some hostility from the wedding coordinator which left a bad taste in our mouths. She felt it was necessary to speak down to the guests & bridal party on numerous occasions which no explanation. Be careful if you decide to go with this venue, you need someone that is going to make your day run smoothly and be respectful towards the people most important in your life, not left them feeling like they aren’t welcome.

My new husband and I just got married at the Adrianna this past weekend. It was magical, perfect and even better than I imagined it would be. The food was AMAZING!!! Every little thing we planned was exicuted beautifully, and the guests had a ball.
From the very first time we walked in, there was a wonderful woman named Jessie who made us feel at ease. She was soon to be our wedding coordinator and confidant throughout our year of planning. Jessie helped me with staying on schedule (im a procrastinator BAD, so this was so helpful) and giving me a list of things that had to get done; she contacts all the venders and gives details to them so you dont have to. Jessie is on top of every detail and was great about giving advice to make it better. I consider her to be one of the reasons our wedding was so beautiful and so much fun. If you want a fairytail beginning of a life together then Jessie and this ballroom is definetly worth a view. It comes alive at night with all the twinkle lights and old world glamor. The architecture alone speaks volumes… Stunning, ellegant, fun, exciting, dazzling and glitsy were just a few words I herd while at the venue from my guests. please dont take my word for it. go see the brilliant and beautiful Adrianna for yourself. Im sure you will fall in love with the wonderful woman who greets you and see the splender of this place and fall in love with it for yourselves.

I cannot say enough about how amazing my wedding day was! The ballroom is gorgeous and spacious, and Jessie & the rest of the staff worked so hard to make our day an incredible experience! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything! If you are considering a wedding in Portland, the Adrianna is a great choice!
