Extra Space Storage

I first moved in to a storage unit at Extra Space Storage during a traumatic move from my home in Port Washington that had been in the family since 1918. I was greeted by Tanya who made it so easy for me to get the unit and begin to fill it. I had never been involved with a storage unit before Extra Space so didn’t know what to expect. The unit is clean and the entire facility is beautifully maintained during even the worst winter weather when snow was plowed in huge towering drifts. Tanya is always available for help. Now I come out from New York City whenever I need items from a smaller unit I moved to this summer. As always, I feel Extra Space Storage is like home.

Wow what a rip off, it’s like the joke is on me.
They start you out by attracting you with the 1 month free and an okay but slightly expensive price, and then BAM once you are in your unit they whack the prices up twice a year until my unit went from approx $ 120 a month to now wait for it… $ 270 a month.
They know they got you once you’ve moved in your stuff, you are a captive audience and they capitalize on that.
Yes the units and very clean and the facilities very well run (although no garbage bins anywhere that I can find)
The front desk ladies are nice but when you ask about the above pricing increases they play dumb.
This place deserves to be reported and get it’s own «American Greed» show.
Total rip off business practices.
I’m moving out today, literally I am, and also have several friends who have units there and they are also moving.
I will be telling anyone who will listen, so they do not use Extra Space.

I received GREAT service from the team at Extra Space Storage in Port Washington. I had a complicated move to another country and they were very helpful and knowledgeable and they were always super pleasant. I would recommend this facility!

The customer service is HORRIBLE beyond HORRIBLE.
The manager Tanya Mejia has the most arrogant, negative and hostile attitude.
She puts out nothing but negative energy as you can see she is a miserable person.
I would highly recommend finding another storage facility.

Terrible customer service! Had a problem with the local facility and the manager was not helpful at all. Tried to contact the regional manager and did not even get a return call.
