Saddened by how this place turned out… Went in for dinner… It took forever and the place was dead… Not to mention food came out warm or room temp but not hot at all. Our waitress had a BAD attitude and didn’t seem to understand English or Spanish! The owner and managers just stood there vs helping out! Never going back and U should choose a different place too!

Went back again with my wife and we were not disappointed. Outstanding as always. Will Definitely be back again. Recommend the roasted pork.

Definitely a bad marketing job done for this place. The sign says Deli, Bakery and Coffee Bar. When I entered I was in a sort of upscaleish restaurant. This place does not look like a deli, bakery or coffee bar. I was in the mood for a coffee frappucino. The waitress said they have a similar drink called coffee toffee, so I felt adventurous and tried it. This drink was AMAZING!!! For me at least, it tastes better than Starbucks espresso frap, but it had a similarity to Starbucks. The drink was almost 6.00 for the one size they only offer of 12 ounces. I haven’t eaten food here yet, but looking forward to visiting for lunch.

Quiet, laid back early lunch here this morning. Light lunch of plantain soup & a chicken empanada. Loved finding a new place for Sat mornings where we can enjoy visiting over our café. Will be back.

Great and accommodating service! My server was awesome and very kind, explained to me the history of the coffee and the best kinds to try. He told me I could stay as long as I’d like and treat it like home. I ordered the café con leche which was delicious. And I got the mofongo breakfast which reminds me of the Puerto Rican and Dominican restaurants in NY. Food came out quickly and tasted great. Good sized portion, it definitely filled me. The décor is truly rustic and has a calm and laid back feel. I’ll certainly be back for lunch or dinner.

Great food and coffee is really good. Loved the mofongo. Definitely a hidden gem that many people don’t know about. Service is friendly, but consistently a bit slow, even when the restaurant isn’t busy. That’s why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

We waited almost an hour for our food. Once it arrived the food was hard, unedible. The manager did not want to compensate and offered 7% off! He was also rude. I am visiting from out of state and will never be returning. I highly recommend skipping Rustico and checking out Berry Café down the way.

Love the Cuban French Toast. Love the Frituras and pastels. Service can be slow sometimes.

Not sure how this place got such high marks on Unilocal.I travel a lot for business and Unilocal seldom lets me down. But it sure did this time. Should have left when there weren’t many customers in the restaurant at 6:30pm. When I asked the waiter what the house wine was, he said, «a Merlot.» When I asked what wines they had by the glass, he couldn’t give me any names. I ordered the garlic chicken and it was so dry and bland it was uneatable. Had to ask the waiter what the little patties were to learn they were suppose to be fired plantains. They tasted like someone mixed flour with smashed bananas then patted them real thin and baked them. They were horrible. The only thing half decent was the rice and beans. When the waiter picked up my barely eaten plate and asked me how my meal was, I told him it was terrible. He apologized then brought the full check for a horrible meal I didn’t even eat. No manager came by and no chef asked me about my meal.

Excellent food, service, and décor. The place is very nicely, yet simply decorated. Our waiter was a young man who was absolutely fantastic! Very pleasant, extremely knowledgeable, and very attentive. We wanted the calamari for our appetizer, but they were out; so based upon our servers recommendation were ordered the yucca cups stuffed with shrimp — absolutely delicious. I had the mofongo and churrasco steak with red beans & rice. I’d never eaten mofongo before, but I thought it was quite good and very different. The steak was very good as well. The rest of the adults(4) had the roast pork with red beans & rice. My son had pollo with arroz con gandules. They all enjoyed their meals. We ordered a side of fried plantains that were nothing out of the ordinary, but still very tasty. For dessert we had a guava and brandy cake. A little sweet for my taste, but very delicious none-the-less. The iced tea was very good — lots of flavor. I wanted to have a mojito, but they didn’t have any mint — really? Also, we couldn’t get a side salad with our entrees because they didn’t have any lettuce — not good. Something about the truck not arriving as scheduled. I would have loved to give this place five stars, but between the missing calamari, mint, and lettuce I think they still have some work to do. I would have just ran to BJs or Sams Club for the stuff to keep my customers happy, but in their defense they(upon my request) provided complimentary coffees for all; and as a non-coffee drinker that was a hell of good cup of coffee. The price was a little steep, but the food was quite good with ample portions. The wait for our food was also very reasonable. But if I had to emphasize one positive it would be our server. He was beyond outstanding! What a terrific young man and a fabulous server. Job well done that will ensure we come back. Lots of interesting things on this menu to work our way through. Definitely give it a shot. I hear the lunch and breakfast are great too. We’ll be back to give those a try.

Service a bit slow. Portions can be larger Prices way too high. Food is excellent! Missing some great Customer Service to be a great place to hang out. Employees are not Puertorrican and can’t explain the dishes and traditions that well. We never got any bread at our table !

Location is good, parking is horrible. Utensils were dirty. Choose table over booth, seats are too far from the actual table in a booth. Service is good. We went for breakfast, they were out of potatoes, only French fries. 11am. caffe latte and café con leche identical flavors, but still worth ordering. Oj is not fresh squeezed. Overall the place is good, better than your average bfast spot will have to come back and try dinner. went back to give them another chance for dinner instead, and it was worth it. Service and quality of food was definitely better than breakfast time.

Puerto Rico style food. I ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce to go but they messed up the order and I got something else but didn’t realize till I was home. The girl at the front is new & American so I’m assuming she was not familiar with my menu. The rice and beans(pinto) were okay, was bland for my tasting. Almost had zero to no salt. The plantains(monfongo) served with the entrée was good and was a decent portion size. There was barely any steak which was disappointing. The restaurant it self is new so it’s clean. They import there coffee beans directly from Puerto Rico so there café con leche or any coffee will be worth while to try!

Bright and early Saturday morning, in between stalking Mets spring training players and going to their practice the husband and I decided to stop here. I was really looking forward for some PR sancocho but it wasn’t on their breakfast menu. Instead the menu had typical american fare. We both got the breakfast platter with a side of sausage and pancakes. The Café con Leche revivals all other lattes. It was delicious and I suggest coming here just for that. The service was also fine. I’m not sure why people were complaining about it. The sausage was decent size, my bacon was very crispy, and the pancakes were super fluffy. It was a great meal with great service, and most importantly great coffee!

Had dinner last night for the 1st time and I will say it will not be the last. The food was excellent as well as the staff. Every person in the place said hello to us and I mean every single employee working we walked by said hi. I had the churrasco and it was not only cooked perfectly but was a very good piece of meat. Highly recommend. We didn’t try any of the dessert or coffee however we will be back on Sunday to get a cup of coffee it looked amazing.

Ambiance!!! Ambiance! Ambiance! Love it! The staff was attentive. The food was delicious(pizza empanada, Rustico burger, Parcha juice, sangria, mofongo de camarones, and flan de guava). I may revise my rating to 5 stars when I visit again — when my husband can try to sandwiches(they were out of PR pan)… Very happy! Will come again!

This was our first visit. The food was ok . Service was VERYSLOW … They started us off with a very small portion of bread. For a party of 3 there was only 3 thin slices of Cuban bread . We asked for more bread while eating our meals and they said no … REALLY ??? Portions were very small . Staff were polite but un attentive . We all left hungry because portions were small . However the bill was not. $ 45 for 3 people plus tip ?? Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind spending $ 50 On lunch for a party of 3, but the food quality and portion sizes better be ONPOINT. They fell short on both . Probably would give them another shot. But if they fall short again it’s curtains . Helpful hint if management /owners read this review … Charge a little more for your food and serve more bread with your meals . The worse thing u can do to your customers is have them leave your restaurant hungry !! If you’re going to have small portion sizes, allow your customer the option of having more bread so they don’t leave hungry !! Bread is cheap !!!

We had lunch here Saturday afternoon and all of the food was very flavorful and spiced perfectly! We had the pork mofongo and the shrimp mofongo with the Caribbean sauce(very garlicky but delicious). The only thing that is stopping me from giving 5 stars is the inexperienced waitstaff. They have a great set of knowledgeable staff and the owner seems to be available and nice but I think the new ones might need a little more training than currently given. The food is very authentic and flavorful and we will be back. I am hopeful that between the traffic for Spiro’s Taverna and Berry Fresh this place will see a lot of exposure. Port St Lucie needs more places like this, the food was delicious!!! The pastries alone are worth the trip, the food reminds me of what I used to get in Miami at the restaurants with counter service. Cafecito(Cuban coffee) with croquettas and papa rellenos, I miss that, but not the traffic :)

Food with such flavor! The employees are warm and friendly. The décor is chic and rustic. True Cuban fare for both breakfast and lunch. The Cuban bread is even added to the breakfast items. Be sure to try the Cuban French Toast. Some breakfasts even include a caffe latte. Check the menu before ordering. For lunch there are daily specials throughout the week. There is also a takeout deli and bakery in the back.
