Ordered the biscuits and gravy with home fries. She left and came back with two plates overflowing with steaming hot food. Excellent service with hot food served quick and it was so good. They only accept cash or check.

It was just ok. Not very welcoming to non regulars and it wasn’t until after we ordered we realized it was cash only. We then had to send someone to make the track down to the gas station for an ATM. I would get it if the food was amazing, but this was just pretty average greasy spoon food.

This place is decent. Typical diner food. I got the corned beef hash which was pretty tasteless. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak which he said was pretty good. Very friendly wait staff. Seems like a spot for the locals. Probably won’t come back here. They also do not take cards for payment and don’t have an atm in the store.

First, standards out here in PO are very, very, low. This is by no means a 4.5 star restaurant. If you came over here from Seattle and expected a 4.5 star restaurant up to par with ones back home you will be disappointed. People out here really enjoy their greasy spoon restaurants and are very proud of them. Dave’s is not bad but as the 2 stars say on Unilocal«meh. I’ve had better» This place is maybe a half star better than your typical Denny’s.

Overall, eh, it’s okay. My first visit found me barely greeted by the staff(and they weren’t busy). My order was taken quickly after I sat and decided what I wanted. The food came out pretty fast. Pancake and home fries/fried potatoes. The potatoes were hard and greasy(not raw, but not crispy or tender). The pancake was pretty good, but nothing special. $ 6 for a filling meal, even though I left with a huge stomachache. The staff was not very friendly — but not rude by any means either. They spent most of their time chatting with other customers who were obvious regulars or friends. My next visit, I went after their biscuits and gravy because I’ve been told they have the best around. For another $ 6, I got the one biscuit with sausage gravy and a side of home fries. Once again, the staff wasn’t very outgoing toward me, but made sure everyone else was warmly greeted, had quick refills, etc. The potatoes were perfect this time. Tender but slightly crisp, not greasy at all. The biscuit was subpar. Big, but dry. The huge chunks of sausage in the gravy were greasy and grisly-feeling as I chewed. The gravy is on the sweet side because of the spices(too much fennel?). Overall, I wasn’t impressed with what was supposed to be the most mind-blowing B&G around. I would like to try their dinner items at some point, despite the«meh”-ness I’ve experienced thus far. It would be nice to be treated like a regular customer, even if I’m not. Feels kind of lonely when your waitresses seem excited to talk with everyone but you.

This place always rocks we eat here at least twice a week and love the food! They are a cash only restaurant but well worth the added effort to get it before we come in. The meals are priced very good and the service is outstanding. This is a place where everybody knows everybody. It’s a cheers restaurant without the booze. :)

Pros: Really great comfort food. Heavy, but all of those great noms you get with a lot of salt, fat, and sugar. The caveman in me is pleased. Very inexpensive. I don’t even want to say reasonable, because it’s priced UNDER«reasonable». Cons: It’s small and popular, so the wait time can get a little ridiculous. But once you get a seat, you’re treated like a king. I think they are cash only. Pretty sure that at least no credit cards are accepted.

I was in town from Southern California for court. I arrived extremely early so I googled Dennys. Closest one was 16 miles away. So I googled Breakfast in Port Orchard. Well Uncle Daves came up. I tend to enjoy the smaller mom and pop restaurants. Well let’s just say I wasn’t not will you be disappointed if you choose to eat here. 6 small booths, 3 tables and a bar counter. Open seating. Menus are on side of table, specials on the wall. I had biscuits and gravy with a side of home fries. Best breakfast I’ve had. Giant homemade biscuit. Gravy pouring over the side of the plate and a huge helping of home fries. Service is great… 95%of the people that walked in after me we greeted by there first name. Wait staff knew almost every order. If you don’t order the special no big deal. Just tell them what you want and they will make it. If I lived closer I would be a regular here. Best thing is the price, as I said before I had b&g, side of white toast and a glass of milk and it was $ 9.24!!! So eat here if you are thinking about it. You won’t be dissapointed!

If you want a small mom and pop eatery this is the best place in Kitsap County, in my opinion. Yes they are cash only but you get amazing prices and extremely friendly staff and regulars. So happy to have Uncle Dave’s right around the corner. Best Hash hands down!

An American Classic Uncle Dave’s may not do much, but what it does do is deliver a substantial hearty breakfast at an impressively reasonable price. Dollar for dollar, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value proposition in Port Orchard. Their food is charming in its simplicity, eschewing variety to focus on select core tenets. The results are superlative, and not to be missed. Eating at Uncle Dave’s is an experience. There are six booths, three small tables, and a counter that seats maybe eight comfortably. You will likely wait to be seated. There are pull tabs available for those interested. On the wall is a list of the specials. You are not likely to be offered a menu; you won’t need one. Only cash and check are accepted as payment, but don’t worry, there’s an ATM a few doors down. Once you’re ordering, it’s all about the biscuits and gravy. There are multiple variations, but I am most partial to home fries with my B&G, and two eggs over easy on top. Within minutes of ordering, you are presented with your meal. The gravy and home fries run to the edge of the plate. The food is always hot, fluffy, and fresh. To-go boxes are available, and used frequently. If you haven’t done so yet, make a point to visit Uncle Dave’s soon. You will not be disappointed with your choice.

If you don’t like Uncle Dave’s, I have to wonder if you like anything. The only thing I would wish for is a slightly bigger menu, but perhaps the small menu is the key to the low price. I love Uncle Dave’s. Remember that it is cash only. Last time I went I forgot to pull out cash(I SWORE I DIDIT) but they were really nice and trusted me to go to the ATM and get it. I offered to let them hold my keys so they would know I was coming back while I walked to the ATM, and they said«no need, see you in a few». It made it a little less embarrassing and the waitress was very grateful for the extra tip she received. Food is hot. Seating is hard so get there early. Don’t go here expecting a really fancy breakfast and special coffee. It’s really good home style food. You should definitely go :)

I am so glad I don’t live closer to Uncle Dave’s Café, because the food is so good and my waistline can only afford infrequent visits. I may be 65, but thanks to a lot of exercise I have the appetite of a 25 year old. And boy do they deliver with large portion sizes and very modest pricing. I devoured my steaming hot chicken fried steak, eggs, home fries, the fantastic home made biscuit and that wonderful gravy… and was I stuffed. Rarely do I refuse to «assist» my wife in her meal, but today was the rare exception. I have no idea how they can serve that much good food for the price point they charge, but I’m glad they do. We got there at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning and the place was packed. We were lucky to get a table right away. And while we were eating, the the door was like going non-stop and all the tables except one were occupied the entire time we were there. The only reason for holding back one star is the coffee. It could be better, but that WILLNOT keep us from going back.

Uncle Dave’s Café is legendary in Port Orchard, WA. I have literally been coming here with my friends since high school, and that’s been well over 10 plus years. If your ever in town. Stop in order the Biscuits & Gravy and tell Mrs. Gail the KJ sent ya

Good CHEAP breakfast. Home made biscuits come with nearly every dish and they are awesome. This place might not be much to look at, but the service and food are spot on. Not being a local I defiantly stuck out, but that didn’t effect our lighting fast service or the friendly smiles on all the waitresses faces. An overall awesome spot to stumble across

Really cheap friendly neighborhood place to eat. What else can you ask for. The food is good, the people are really nice and a meal for 2 people is typically around 15 $ for breakfast. Seems like a lot of local people visit here daily or weekly the waitresses seem to know some people. Don’t know what else to say besides get the biscuits and gravy. Only negative I can think of is they don’t take debit card only cash or check.

We had heard from friends and after reading reviews that this place was some good home cooking at a very reasonable price. Decided since it would be nice to go to breakfast we would head on over… We walked in… Uncle Dave’s is a pretty quaint place… go ahead and seat yourself at a table that looks good to you. This place is «mom-n-pop»…THISISNOT A BADTHING, HERE! Dave’s is known for their biscuits n gravy… it’s not a weight watcher’s approved establishment, so please stay home if that is what you need. Our dishes consisted of some eggs, bacon, hash browns and a biscuit. Kiddo got some pancakes, a scrambled egg and bacon. Daddy got an order of chicken fried steak. Everything was good. Definitely better than most of the breakfast joints in this town. The plates weren’t enough food for 5 people, so there was not a lot of waste, which REALLY bothers me! The pancakes had some cinnamon in them… that was an unexpected change. Kiddo chowder down on her plate… guess that means she enjoyed her stuff . I definitely recommend Uncle Dave’s…my assumption would be that this place can get very busy on the weekends… so don’t waste time getting in if you are hungry in the morning. From what we experienced the food gets to the table very timely, though so I don’t think the wait would be «too long» even on a super busy day!

Awesome breakfast. My husband had eggs and sausage, and I had sausage biscuits and gravy. The sausage gravy is da bomb. I would highly recommend it. The waitress brought out my husband’s pancakes before everything else because he said he was sharing it with our daughter. I thought it was very thoughtful of her to bring it out to the table while we waited for the rest of the food.
