What a beautiful restaurant and view! The Seafeast was amazing and it’s nice to know we don’t have to travel all the way to Seattle any more to get it. We will definitely be back!

This is me and my husband’s new favorite place to go for dinner. The food has always been great and we feel as though we are always well taken care of by the staff. We love the Seafeast and the potato skins :)

Great place to eat a relaxed lunch or dinner. Located on Port Orchard’s waterfront nearly every seat offers a view of Sinclair Inlet. This place can get busy so reservations are a good idea. I wanted to add that though the place was busy our server/bartender was friendly and attentive.

A wonderful experience to be back in our«2nd hometown» and find this property revived and serving delicious dishes! Not only are the staff excellent servers, cheerfully accommodating to our specialized allergy-motivated tweaks on two of our four orders, but the owner is especially friendly. Thank you, Coach, for the asset you are to downtown Port Orchard!

Love the view and potato skins, and Sori the host was very helpful and informative! Wish there were more choices of seafood on the menu. But overall great place to eat and the staff is very friendly!

I’ve been to the Lighthouse three times, always for the Sunday Brunch and it is fast become a family event when I’m in town. The salmon, especially cooked just right, not dried out and not under cooked which causes that fishiness that is commonly associated with red fish. Crab legs, nice and meaty, Steamed clams, never have I been a fan so they had a bit of a challenge to win me over and these were pretty good! also, the clam chowder was very good, Usual breakfast items include, french toast, pancakes, bacon and sausage, with eggs/omelets made to order. Desserts and fresh fruit was very good, the lemon cake especially! $ 19.95 per person but well worth it, great food, very nice atmosphere and great views of the inlet and Olympic Mountains. Definite recommend and I will be back!

We came for the Sunday Brunch. We enjoyed it, however, some of the food was lacking in flavor, and I know most cafeteria food establishments season their dishes rather sparsely, because alot of the older crowd doesn’t care for the unnecessary salt(flavor) intake. No worries, the décor was a bit dated as well. The variety was wonderful, but the service was a bit lacking on the day we went. Outdoor seating and a wonderful view of the bay.

Brought my parents there for their 50th anniversary and were hoping so bad that it would be a nice experience. It was not to be. Made reservations for 6 and I requested a window seat. They said it would be no problem at all. Got there and it was a problem. They hadn’t saved us ANY table let alone a window seat. Ok. We survived that but I wasn’t very happy about it. So we waited and they put together two tables at the bottom of some stairs where the servers were trying to get their trays by us(barely) making it very uncomfortable. We did complain to the owner but there was nothing he could do at that point. Skip to dinner. We ordered the«Seafeast» for 4 where they boil the whole meal and bring it out for the 4 of us to share. The portions were not enough for 4 people. It was like they had cooked it FAR too long. I love crab, clams and all that but this was WAY over done. I can’t even tell you how disappointing it was. It was so bad that we decided Dairy Queen would probably have better desserts and went there afterwards. I can’t remember what my hubby and Mom ordered but whatever it was it was unremarkable. We would like to sometime try the Sunday brunch as I hear that is good. Not sure I want to waste money to find out it’s bad though. Maybe if we’re feeling adventurous.

My husband and I were here a few weeks ago on a Monday night. It didn’t seem busy, and when we went in we were the only people waiting to get seated. For reasons unknown to us, the hostess said it would be a few minutes before we were seated. We thought it may only be about 5 minutes of a wait, but we ended up waiting for almost 20 minutes(keep in mind that we were still the only people who had come in and the restaurant did not seem busy). We considered leaving — it was particularly frustrating because we were given no explanation by the hostess. She stood at her station and rolled silverware and said nothing to us while we waited. She apologized for the wait when we were taken back to our seats, but beyond that I still am somewhat puzzled by why we waited for so long. When we got back to our booth there were 3 other tables occupied in the area we were in. Our waitress was prompt, and very nice. The Lighthouse has a nice selection of beers(both craft and basic domestics). We got our food quickly and it was delicious. I had a steak, which was seasoned beautifully, and cooked just right. My husband had clam chowder and chicken wings. We were both very satisfied with the food and the wait service once we were seated. We will try this place again, since the food was so good and we had an exceptional waitress. Again, it was unclear to me why we waited for so long before we were seated, but our patience was rewarded.

I went to this place last Friday with my husband, when we walked in the place had a rancid smell, I can’t explain it, just know it wasn’t the fish smell that I was referring to. When we finally got seated, I noticed a bunch of flies all over, pretty disgusting and I should have left, that should have been enough indications that this was not going to be a good experience. I had the all you can eat fish and chips and let’s just say it was far from good, the batter alone was so salty. That night I couldn’t sleep and woke up Saturday night with a bad case of food poisoning, I threw up a good three times. I couldn’t even hold water. I will never return to this place ever again, that fish must have been old or the grease or something.

Since Brookes was kind enough to post her response to my review, I’m posting my(slightly altered) reply to her response. I think I made some important points I’d like Unilocal readers to see and consider. I drove by your restaurant yesterday and noticed the banner for the Sunday Seafood Brunch and realized that was the reason for the strong cooking fish smell when we walked in. But, please understand, my wife isn’t a seafood fan and the smell put her off immediately. And this was after 3 pm with the Seafood Buffet WAY over and done with as evidenced by the few customers in your restaurant when we walked in. I don’t understand why you didn’t have air scrubbers going? When we ate at Red Lobster we weren’t overwhelmed by the smell of cooked fish, and they’re primarily a seafood place, right? But they also sell burgers and chicken and other non-seafood dishes so management makes sure that fish isn’t the only thing their customers smell. I shared with my wife your comment about how we should have looked for you and Linda since no server had come to our table even after we had been seated for a several minutes. She was quite upset with your comment and rightfully so. This is not a customer service-oriented attitude on your part. WE go in search of YOU instead of you or staff coming over to us? You are putting the responsibility on us, customers who just walked into your restaurant, to look for your or your manager if we’ve been waiting for several minutes for some staff person to come to our table. Why should WE have to look for YOU? If you require that customers seat themselves because the host(ess) is on break, you or your manager should be on the floor making sure all customers are being taken care of. If you see that customers have been sitting at a table without having been given menus along with drinks, YOU should be instructing someone to go that table and take care of them. This is YOUR restaurant. And I will again emphasize that it was virtually empty. Come to think of it, if your host(ess) is on break, why don’t either you or your manager cover that job while the other person watches the floor? The only time we ask to see a manager is if we had an issue with how we were treated by a server during a meal. If been sitting at a table and 3 – 5 minutes go by without a server coming to us with menus, or if we’ve been given menus and we’ve made our selections, have the menus closed and laid down on the table, and at least fifteen minutes go by without our server coming back to take our order, we don’t ask for the manager; we walk out. We’ve done this in a few restaurants. OK, you had two waitresses breaking down the buffet table. That’s no reason to neglect the floor and I’m glad you now understand that. What we saw at your restaurant at that time was no one in charge despite the fact there were only two occupied tables in the entire place. This, to me, is a management issue. This is a shame because I want to make it absolutely clear to you my wife was looking forward to eating at your restaurant when we pulled up. That desire faded right after we stepped inside. Sorry, I wish you luck with your restaurant but we won’t be back.

I can honestly say I will never step foot in this place again without being told I have to. The waitress was very polite which almost made me ignore the fact the food took an hour to show uo, and it was messed up nit once, but twice. They brought us the wrong drinks, and the food was cold when it showed up to top it all off. When it was pointed out we were argued with instead of assisted with the issue. I would give negative stars if it was possible.

My husband’s parents are visiting from out of town. we wanted to take them to a decent place near the water that served seafood. Food was quite honestly amazing! We all loved our dishes… the reason for the 4 star rating is the service. We walked in as a group of 6(one child needing a high chair) and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. After about 15 minutes we were told they had a small table for us, it would be awhile yet for a big one. We said it was fine and were seated. Our waitress was also the bartender… who was assisting with a rather large group in a private room. Because of this service was very slow. it took us over an hour between arriving to the restaurant and actually getting our food. We were all very understanding and didn’t complain… but I do feel that they probably shouldn’t have their bartender spread so thin… and splitting her attention all over the place. Again, the food was worth it in the end… and we will be back. Hopefully next time the service will be on par with the food.

On a special occasion for The Wife and I we went looking for adventure, and seafood. Mostly seafood. We live in Vancouver, Washington, but we knew we wanted to be up around Tacoma or Bremerton area because the drive is nice. As The Wife wheeled the mighty Unilocalmobile I whipped out the trusty Unilocal App on my smarter than me phone and started looking for the place. It didn’t take long either, the Lighthouse was well rated, had some good menu items and bonus of all bonuses they had a deal through Unilocal, buy $ 25, get $ 50 in menu items. Didn’t take a brain surgeon to figure that one out, we were heading for Port Orchard! I always get nervous about traveling long distances to try something new just because I hate being let down for the effort. The further north we went the more I was hoping we were doing the right thing. As we toured through the quaint Puget Sound community it wasn’t easy to miss the Lighthouse, stands right out there on the main road with, you guessed it, a big Lighthouse on it. The parking lot was well over half full, a good sign. We walked in were told it would be about 15 minutes as others were waiting too, another good sign. Just shy of 15 minutes later we were called and seated along side a large picture window overlooking the Sound the views of the Ferry scurrying back and forth to Seattle and the mothball fleet across the way. We knew we were there for the Seafood Feast already, but what we were not prepared for was the reasonable price. I expected about $ 60-$ 70 for two, but it was only $ 45.95. We ordered from Jenny, our server who was so pleasant, a German Pretzel appetizer to start along with our drinks. The pretzel was very very good, it came with most wonderful dipping sauce made with two mustard’s and some Hefeweizen. The Wife has a thing for German food, has been to Germany and knows her stuff. Thus we commenced watching ships, eating pretzel and making small talk. Soon a pizza pan arrived along with Jenny holding a very large bowl that was steaming and smelled of garlic, butter and the sea. She turned the bowl out onto the pizza pan and out slid beautiful crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, sausage and corn. Jenny through some bibs on us and got out of the way. The next half hour was flying crab shrapnel, clinking of clam and mussel shells and carelessly tossed shrimp tails. It was bliss for seafood lovers like us. The meal also came with these wonderful cheesy savory rolls that went so well with the seafood. In the end was waddled out of there super happy with the 3 hour drive(we went scenic through Shelton not straight to Tacoma and west) and even happier with the choice of the Lighthouse. If you’re wondering if we would drive 150 miles for dinner here again the answer is you bet your butt we would. On the handicapped scale I give them a solid A for access, they have a side door though the lounge with a ramp down to the handicapped parking spaces. The restaurant is multi-level, but while there are some area’s that would be hard to get to every seat has a view.

For my anniversary, my fiancée and I decided to go to the Port Orchard Lighthouse for dinner. We hadn’t been there before but the menu online looked good and it has a great view. Once we entered, we were quickly seated inside with a great view. Our waitress Erika greeted us with a warm, friendly and professional introduction and took drink orders. I asked for some recommendations and she quickly and proudly offered several options. We got the German Pretzel which was delicious and fresh as an appetizer. For the entrée, my fiancée got the SeaFeast which was fresh crab legs, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and more. It all looked delicious and fresh. I got the Long Range Burger(brisket and ground beef patty with pulled pork and 2 onion rings on texas toast). Let me tell you how good this thing was. OMG Good! Fries were crisp and fresh. After this dining experience, we will totally be back to the Lighthouse to try more dishes!

The short of it is: we had a very disappointing dinner and I left hungry, but unwilling to buy more food. The long of it is this: we’ve been wanting to try the Lighthouse for some time now. I had received a $ 5 off $ 25+ coupon for liking their Facebook page. We were greeted promptly and told indoor seating was a 5 minute wait, but outside was ready now. We wanted A/C, so we opted to stay indoors. Pretty much as soon as we sat in the waiting area, a hostess called our name. Fastest 5 minutes of my life! Our server came over immediately and was very friendly. She took our drink orders(water and coffee) and came back relatively quick with those items. We hemmed and hawed over the menu. Quite a few choices, but nothing immediately jumped out at us. The waitress came back some time later with two dinner rolls which looked amazing, but were served in a cheap basket on top of a pool of greasy butter. The outsides of the rolls were pretty awesome. Flavorful, crisp without being hard… but the insides were SO bland. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Like chewing on a piece of Wonder bread. Not even a hint of salt in there. We placed our orders — my fellow ordered a patty melt with fries and I ordered the salmon sandwich with fries. For as slow as they were, it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did to get our food. And all the while, I had the sun blazing in to my eyes with no reprieve. Curtains would have been great. Blocking out the sun at 6:30pm on a cloudless July day would no way impede the view of the mountains. I couldn’t even see my menu without having to lift it up and create a fortress. When the meals finally came, our waitress set down my fellow’s plate and another woman set down mine and said, «Your plate is very hot.» Usually, that’s a laughable statement and they say it «just in case», but dang if she wasn’t right. Why exactly was my plate so hot? The bread was barely toasted, the fries were room temperature, and the pickle obviously wasn’t heated… so why was it so hot? Sitting under a heat lamp too long, maybe? His patty melt was a disaster. The super greasy, soaking wet onions were placed on the bottom of the sandwich, so it had sat on the bread longer to absorb everything, than if they had been piled on top. Picking up the sandwich just made it fall through the bottom. My salmon sandwich that comes with a creamy dill dressing came with a light zig zag squirt of bitter dill sauce that did nothing to compliment the salmon, which was very dried out at the ends(tough to chew), but decently moist on the inside. It was not seasoned well at all, though. I was excited to see nice, thick cut bacon, too, but that was chewy like everything else! And the size of my salmon was ridiculous. Had I received that piece of salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of veggies, it would have been fine. But for a sandwich? Something that tall should NOT be on a sandwich. Being that it was on Texas toast which can be delicate in the middle if only lightly toasted, the whole thing fell apart in my hands two bites in — and it tasted like that all familiar Wonder bread friend from earlier. Both of our fries looked like they were nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but they were room temperature and chewy, like they sat out for too long. Sort of that same idea of McDonald’s fries being great when they’re fresh, but let them sit out(or in a closed up take out bag) for 20 minutes and they’re going in the trash. My fellow excused himself to the bathroom right before dinner showed up and he refused to tell me how awful it was in there until the meal was over and we were out of earshot of other guests. He said it was muggy, smelled like something crapped itself then died and no one cleaned it up, and there were boogers all over the wall by the urinal. In the end, we spent $ 24, with that coupon, and we left hungry. The only nice thing I can say about the restaurant was that the staff was very warm and nice. But that’s not enough for us to ever go back. Sorry.

Went for the first time for Mother’s Day brunch. It was busy as to be expected. But the servers were on top of things. Friendly even though they were swamped. All the food was amazing! We will definitely be back!

Lighthouse Port Orchard: our group Restaurants of Washington state decided to try this place for our monthly meet up for March. I ordered the Tuscan chicken, New England clam chowder, apple crisp for desert and of course the naked grape moscato. Everything was very delicious. The service was extra nice and the owner actually made his way to our table. Great place to eat with a WIDE variety on the menu.(Even kids) Well done, Lighthouse I would come back.
