We had a great service and culinary experience tonight. The setting of the restaurant is very warm & cozy. The service staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It felt like they cared that we were there and cared about what kind of experience we were having. We ran into the chef earlier in the day and he shared information about some of the available dishes and the catch of the day. The bread was very good. The sturgeon was fresh, light, and flavorful. The flat iron steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The crème brûlée was some of the best we have ever tasted. We would absolutely eat there again and look forward to that time. Thank you to everyone there who helped create this positive experience.

The food was amazing(definitely farm to table), but everything else was a bit disappointing. We were here in the off season, so for dinner the dining room was only full at peak dinner time, and at breakfast there was only one other couple the entire time. It is probably due to this that the service at times seemed a bit absent(like not checking on us or even seemingly being in the dining room between bringing our dinner entrees and us finishing them). I saw their drink list online and was so excited to have multiple choices of ciders by the glass and bottle for my birthday dinner when we were going cidertasting that weekend(their list dated Aug 2015 lists 4 by the glass, 4 by the bottle, Finnriver brandywines by the glass, and Finnriver Pommeau by the glass). However, their current list is down to only 1 by the glass(Eaglemount Ginger) and 1 by the bottle(Alpenfire Glow), both of which I think are poor choices. Many people(like me) don’t care for ginger, and although its an awesome cider, many wouldn’t want a 750ml bottle of cider, and its more of a dessert cider(sweet not dry). I understand that they may not be able to offer ciders by the glass(if they have any carbonation they wouldn’t fare well the next day), but what is wrong with offering 500ml bottles of Finnriver ciders? Its the perfect size for one person. I ended up ordering a cocktail with Prosecco and Finnriver Black Currant brandywine.

We went here for my relative’s birthday and had a great time. The drinks were amazing, the atmosphere was nice, service was good and everyone enjoyed their entrees and dessert. Though it is on the spendy side, it was great for a special occasions.

We stopped at the Fireside for lunch; this was our first visit to Port Ludlow. Unless we missed it, there isn’t much in Port Ludlow(just a marina, some condos and the ‘resort’). What is there is nice and well maintained. As noted by others, the location is quaint and the ambiance of the inn is very nice. It is off-season, so we were seated in a side dining room(the main room was closed for the lunch). My guess is that the view from the main room is beautiful… not that ours was bad mind you, it was a nice view of the harbor. Given the local availability of such views, I’d rate it a 3+. The service was great — 4 or 5 stars… very friendly and attentive server. The noise level was a 1 — not the fault of the restaurant, but there was a screechy cackling woman on the far side of the room. She got a lot of sideways views from everyone else in the place but was oblivious. Some people really need to be more self aware! Our food was hit and miss… specifically, my husband had the burger and said it was 4 or 5 stars. I had the Ruben and it was 2 or 3 stars — a bit dry and not much flavor. Overall, I’d give the afternoon 3 stars. We’ll give it another try based on service and ambiance.

Love the food and the people here. With everything from comfort food, like the wonderful house made pot pie, to more sophisticated dishes, including the wonderful clams, it is hard not to find something to love.

The service was lousy and the food was served cold. Maybe it was an off night, but for those prices it should be good every time. I won’t return.

The Fireside is a cozy, comfortable little restaurant located on the ground floor of The Inn at Port Ludlow. It has a fireplace and intimate tables and booths where you can enjoy Chef Dan’s creations from the«Coast to Coast» omelet to the Kobe Beef. The food is delicious, and the homemade bread is served with a delicious tapenade. If you are lucky enough to get Bonnie as your server, your evening will be complete!

A lot can happen in a year. Last years Christmas dinner here was fabulous with a choice of three entrées and a dessert display with almost too many choices. Mother’s Day had a us raving with a lovely brunch and a seafood buffet to make the oyster lover’s mouth sing. This year the Thanksgiving Dinner here can at be described as mediocre and hurried with a Five-Star price tag and Red Robin flavor(boring) or make that Walmart style with a Four Seasons price. Everyone was nice, but they had to substitute the wine I selected and there was not one dinner item I would recommend. The Butternut soup as so thick it should have been a mousse, The salad was ok, but did not go well with the dinner, and the dinner was served family style. The dark meat of the turkey sat under a heat lamp way too long; the dressing was tasteless; the orange sweet potatoes were just weird with tasteless gravy to top it all. The dessert was cold burnt Pumpkin Pie. There were no choices, no gluten free offerings, no options for anything, but the one offering in each category and it felt like running a race to eat each course as the next course came out to fast. Enough said. Where did your good chef and good planning go.

This place has an inviting décor and ambiance, but the food is hit-or-miss. We dine here frequently when we are in the area; at least twice every month. The servers are consistent(the same servers every time we go) and helpful, but the food… it just needs to be more consistent. Sometimes it’s absolutely amazing. The Camembert stuffed salmon is really tasty, the curried muscles are fantastic when the sauce is actually a curry sauce rather than a bland white wine sauce. I’ve also been served penne pasta when the menu specified pappardelle… two very different pastas. The Jidori Chicken is grossly overpriced– a little thigh for over $ 20! The crème brûlée is not worth trying– go for the turtle pie instead, it’s delightful. This place is worth a few visits, when it’s good– it’s great. When it’s bad, it’s mediocre. If this place were more consistent, I would have left 5 stars. Ugh. We came back over the weekend, and our food was COLD. I told our server that our food was cold and she didn’t say anything, she just walked away. So disappointing.

Disgusting rancid fish. No apology. They took it off the bill, but they were not pleasant about it.

We stopped for lunch midweek. Nice setting, and the service was good. The Ceasars salad was too ascidic, they need to cut way down on the over use of lemons. We also had the fish and chips, which was apparently cooked on too low heat, as it was far too oily. Great bread. Over all it was good, but not a memorable lunch.

My wife and I like to drive around the sound and often find local businesses to eat at. This is one of the few that we’ve had multiple times in one weekend! Service is great — but make reservations as this place books up quickly when the resort is full. Food is consistently amazing and you can tell the Chef takes care to prep good food correctly. Dishes are plated beautifully and tastes as good as it looks! Look at some recent photos posted here on Unilocal from my wife and I! :)

We just had the most wonderful dining experience at the happy hour here at the Fireside. The Clam Chowder was the best I’ve ever had, better than my previous favorite at Pike Place Chowder. The Caesar Salad wad very good. The steamed Clams was a huge bowl of wonderfully tasty, tender small Manila clams. The Prime Rib Dip was great. It came with a very tasty au jus and perfect fries. We could not be happier with the quality of the food or the value of the happy hour prices.
