Clearly the staff does not communicate here. Came for happy hour today and opened a tab with bartender #1, was eventually served our second round by another bartender(#2). I got up and asked to close my tab shortly after and bartender #2 handed me a receipt(that I left on the bar) but did not give my card back. We sat back down, left a tip relative to the quality of our drinks/service & bartender #1 approached me asking if I had received my card back/went to get it when I said I had not. We then left. My friend returned a couple of hours later with a different group of people, was told we had left without paying & that«they assumed we would be paying in cash and shit». Interesting. Why would someone hand over their card, open a tab, eventually ask to close their tab, get their card back but pay with cash in the end? I have personally never been to a bar where closing out a tab means anything other than«please charge the card you’re holding then give it back.» Sadly some incompetence there. Was going to check this place out more often as our after-work spot but definitely not after this completely avoidable incident. I’m fine with staff making an honest mistake & would have happily resolved the situation immediately had it been brought to my attention. I even ignored our $ 4 happy hour mixed drinks tasting like water. But the staff was unnecessarily rude to my friend who returned & eventually paid the bill that wasn’t properly resolved due to THEIR own mistake. Maybe staff should pay more attention, especially since the bar was not at all crowded at the time we were there and had plenty of staff on hand, practicing holding cups behind the bar. Do you really think someone would purposely skip out on their bill then return shortly after? Guess I’m missing the logic in this situation.

Pleasantly surprised! I had always said I wanted to try this place out, but it was never the first place to come to mind. My husband had wanted BBQ for awhile so we decided to come here Friday night. Mike was our waiter, and he was great! He took the time and showed my husband how the beer system worked. Husband thoroughly enjoyed the wide array of beers on tap and liked the idea of paying by ounce(he had in total 3 beers, but some glasses were ½ full to try to taste many kinds and we spent about $ 14 for them total… not bad). We started with the burnt ends, which were so good(fatty but in a good way, smoky flavor was subtle but it was just enough for me)!!! Husband went for the ribs with coleslaw, corn bread, baked beans. Ribs fell off the bone! I went for a burger, which was equally as good and cooked at the right temperature. I really liked the side of tots that came with it! The only complaint was when we went(6:30 ish on Friday night) they were doing Karaōke. Screaming women trying to sing on the other side of the restaurant was a bit of a headache. I only wish that karaōke would have started later when the bar crowd starts coming by. The other big plus, $ 10 off when checking in on Unilocal! Thanks :)

This was our first time visiting LI Pour House and I was pleasantly surprised. It was Father’s day evening so I thought it would be more crowded than it was. We were able to get a booth rather quickly. Our server Malayna came over right away with our menus and took our drink order. I love the menu, not to much but plenty of different choices, honestly long menus annoy me. Malayna brought our drinks & took our order for appetizers as well as our main course. We ordered Crispy garlic pickles that were delicious the cajun dipping sauce complimented the pickles perfectly. We also had the loaded taters, which were waffle fries instead of tater tots and in my opinion that was definitely the way to go. Waffle fries were easier to share on different plates and with the cheese, bacon & sauce, I think the tater tots would have been to heavy. Needless to say we all enjoyed the loaded taters. Malayna was very helpful in recommending our main courses. I had the PH Baby Back Ribs. I found them to be a little to smokey for me but the fact they were very moist and the meat truly did fall off the bone made up for that little extra smoke. One of my son’s had the pulled pork on a roll with french fries. He also found his meat to be just a little to smokey and his roll half burned. He said the meat was tender and he was hungry so he didn’t want to complain. My other son ordered the boneless wings 7 Pour House Chipotle &7 cajun rub with ranch dressing & an order of waffle fries. The Chipotle wings were amazing I can see why they are Award winning, the cajun wings were just ok and he never did get his side of fries but his brother had plenty so they shared. I am not a beer drinker so I cannot speak to the beer although there seems to be quite the selection. I was happy to see a signature cocktail menu I ordered a Risky Business as recommended by Malayna and was not disappointed so I had another. I do suggest knocking the smoke down a bit, and the vinegar cole slaw really is very bad. I wasn’t very pleased with the baked beans either, they were very dry and to much was goin on in that little bowl. This was our fist time here and even with the few errors for the most part we enjoyed our meals. I did enjoy the friendly atmosphere, Malayna provided excellent friendly & helpful service so we will be back to give it a second chance and try other dishes on the menu.

Wow. I’m just sorry but not much good going on here. Every place in port Jefferson is great but this place is at the bottom of the barrel. I’ll run through it all. The IPA’s on tap were just not good. Both ones I tried tasted like Coors light. After research I found out the problem could be the taps are dirty. The famous baby back ribs were overly smoked. All my clothes smelled like that BBQ smoke later that night. Didn’t enjoy them at all. Famous Daves BBQ tasted better. Side of mac & cheese, tasteless. Seriously Kraft Mac & cheese tasted better. And the vinegar Cole slaw they give you is horrible. They got 2 stars because the wings were very good. And the BBQ baked beans were very good. If I just had their wings and BBQ baked beans and a soda. 5 stars. But when you throw in their beers and ribs abs Mac & cheese it all goes south… 2 stars. I won’t be back.

More of a «Bar» than a «Grill». I’ve tried 5 or 6 different entrées(there’s a pretty big menu) here and have never really had a good experience. Service has always been polite but rather slow and, in my opinion, the food is pretty bad.

This place was pretty good, nothing really over the top though. We went on a slow Wednesday night so I can’t really say how service would normally be but tonight it was very good. As for the food– it was your typical bbq style American food, I liked how it wasn’t too greasy and I didn’t feel *too* bad after. For appetizers we had the General tsos wings and the hickory smoked wings. I was a little disappointed with the hickory wings, as they were very dry and something about the flavor was a little off. The General tsos were good but nothing to write home about, I could’ve been a bit more impressed. We also ordered the pickles, which were quite delicious, and the pretzels which was by far the best thing I ordered all night. They were nice and crispy, yet not at all burnt on the outside, and nice and soft on the inside, absolutely to die for. I ordered the Greek sandwich with grilled chicken for my entrée and it was a little lacking in flavor, not bad, just bland. The tater tots were perfectly cooked though, nice and crispy. No beer tonight, as it is Wednesday. We also used the $ 10 off coupon on Unilocal which I highly recommend. Overall I would probably return to this place, it was a solid 4 stars but nothing that impressed or disappointed me too much.

I wish I could have given another half a star. There are two reasons I only gave this place 4 stars. One is easily correctable by hiring more staff, the other is just a personal preference. First, they were definitely short-staffed on a Busy Friday night which resulted in slightly slow service. That said, the service was still VERYGOOD. The manager/host guy was great and came and found my gf and I at the crowded bar when our table was ready and made a last minute change to our seating request(away from the live band). I felt bad for the 2 bartenders who were SLAMMED the whole time we were there. If not for the«pour your own beer taps» I think they would have quit. I’ve spent some time behind a bar, and I would have. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive. The second negative was that the live band was a Country Line Dancing band. Thankfully, we were far enough away that I didn’t want to bash my skull in with a brick. I can’t deal with country music but I know it’s a popular thing nowadays. Add the line dancing and it is the 5th circle of my personal hell. The wings were VERYGOOD as most other reviewers have said. Not the best I’ve ever had, but not far from it. I had brisket for dinner… No BS here… Best I’ve ever had. My gf had these crazy hot dogs with all kinds of toppings and I wound up having some of that too. Awesome. The pour your own beer thing was cool. Very good selection. As a beer guy, I just wish they would have put out a description of each beer. A little info sheet. Where it’s from, an explanation of the different styles(Pilsner, pale ale, stout, etc.), different flavors in the brew. It’s just interesting to beer people like me and it’s very helpful to less knowledgeable beer people. I will definitely go back.

The pulled pork sandwiches were amazing! The service was moderate and the atmosphere was alright. I was annoyed that my brisket and chicken tacos were so cold when they got to the table plus they were not tasty and poorly presented. Just get the pulled pork, you’ll be happy that way unless of course your God doesn’t allow you to eat that meat.

The food here is excellent. From wing night, to main courses, to desserts, I have yet to be disappointed in the food. The staff is super friendly and it’s usually pretty easy to find seating. I’m docking one star for slow service. Sometimes it’s painfully slow. On wing night, you have to work hard to get your moneys worth because the servers will disappear for 30 – 40 minutes at a time which is frustrating when you’re on a time limit. Other than that, super fantastic venue.

Very friendly staff, nice array of items to choose from on the menu, quality of the food is good. Price for the portions I think is fair(the portions are not lacking), in addition to the pour your own, they have bottled beer and other«well» drinks. Ordered the bbq tacos, each with different meat and it was tasty, dad ordered the bbq slider trio also each with different meat and we both enjoyed. The Georgia beans are awesome, tangy just how they should be. The fried onion rings were awesome, but our favorite was the home made corn muffins, which have actual corn niblets baked into them and they are soft and warm when served; that was more so the piece of heaven to me, lol. 4 adults and 2 kids, the bill was $ 98.00. Only problem is they charged me for the kids food and they are ages 3 and 1, kids 12 and under eat free Sunday thru thursday. I called back since I didn’t realize when I was there and they were very sincere about correcting the issue. Spoke with one employee who wasn’t sure the best way to fix the issue so she put the boss on the phone and he offered me a refund to my card but I said just comp me next time I’m in and he offered me a $ 20.00 credit even though the two kids meals were $ 6.99 each, so that was nice. Problem corrected. Only other thing that made me give 4 instead of 5 was the service was slow, but I obviously will return as a customer. No place and nobody is perfect.

The concept of pouring your own beer sounds cooler then it is. I’ve only been here once, the novelty wore off by my second trip up to the wall… I was sitting at the bar; honestly why do I wanna get up and go serve myself… ?? Also, I was there on a Monday, the place was EMPTY, I know it’s Monday(no football this night), but it made me think this place may not stay open too much longer. Plus, 2 or 3 of the beers were tapped out… C’mon. All that said, the food was good, we ate fried pickles, pretzels, and Mac n cheese bites. They also have a bunch of TVs, pool tables, Foosball, etc…

We went here on Sunday to watch some football, excited to use a Unilocal deal that my boyfriend received, but we left very disappointed. They were promoting a brunch deal with $ 4 mimosas and bloody marys and unfortunately they were out of bloody mary mix(what?). We arrived at 12:30 the bar was still being set up after being open for an hour so getting the attention of the bartender was difficult. I sat down at the bar and I guess my leg touched the underside of the bar because when I stood up I HADGUMONMYPANTS. Freshly chewed. Yuck. I went to the bathroom to wash it off and while I was in there, a male employee comes in to see if the bathroom was clean(which smelled like pee). Really? The football games had started by that point which baffled me that they would be checking the cleanliness of the bathroom so late after opening. I do like the self serve beer station it’s a unique and cool idea but I wish they had a better selection of beers. Most of the beers on tap were IPAs which I’m not a fan of. They had bucket specials which were a good deal so if you’re not into craft beers I would suggest sticking with that. The wings were really good so we ordered a bunch of those. When we were ready to leave, we asked for the bill. The bill was about $ 45 more than what it should be. They didn’t take off the Unilocal deal(which we informed them of), they also didn’t take off the facebook deal for 8 free wings(which we also informed them of and we only got 6 wings with our order), and they didn’t give us the order 7 wings get 7 free. So we had about 20 extra wings on our bill. We told them about it, and the bartenders had to correct it twice which took about half an hour. I wish I would say I will use my Unilocal check in deal next time but sadly, I will not be returning to this bar since it is subpar to most of the bars in my area.

I was a bit disappointed after a visit here on a busy Saturday night. When we came in most of the dining tables were full so we elected to seat by one of tall bar tables since the bar at the time wasn’t as busy and the bartender took care of our order pretty easily. However after the smooth start things started to go south a bit as we waited probably over 30 minutes for the order of the wings. I could tell it was the wings that took a long time since the Pita burger I also ordered were quite lukewarm already so felt like been sitting out under the warmer at least a bit. However, the wings are superb as they advertised, definitely one of the better one I’ve had and way better than what you find at your typical chain family restaurants. We got coconut glazed for half and mustard BBQ for the other. The sweeter coconut glaze flavor was definitely the better of the two in my opinion. It was a bit pricey though at bit over $ 1 per wing. The Greek sandwich I had was quite decent but certainly pales compare to their wings line up. Overall was it worth the wait and the price? I think for a first timer its worth a try. But I think if my experience was the norm probably wouldn’t be coming back here during their more busy times. For the record I didn’t try their beer tap so can’t really give an honest review. Parking was quite easy as they have spare spots in the back, and live music at the bar was kind of nice but it definitely gets rowdier earlier in the night than I expected. We left the restaurant at around 9 – 9:30ish and the bar was already quite packed.

I want to like this place but can’t after my last experience. I came here during the summer for a beer festival which was a great time so no complaints there. However, came in on a football Sunday and was extremely disappointed. The beer’s on tap are fine but mostly IPAs and stouts. I understand that it is that time of year where most people enjoy stouts and darker beers, so do I, but only one ale while having two ciders on tap is just odd. If you don’t like stouts or IPAs you are limited to one or two choices out of the wall of 20. The bucket specials are probably the best thing about Sunday’s. I think it was $ 14 for 5 bud light which is a steal. We wanted to start our Sunday with a bloody Mary but they were out of bloody Mary mix. I don’t know how that’s possible when you boast bloody Marys and mimosas every Saturday and Sunday. We had the mimosas but the first round was mostly oj. I spilled most of mine by accident and the bartender should have offered to pour me a half glass or something like other bartenders would do elsewhere. The wings are the only food we have tried and they are pretty good. The specials though, buy 7 and get 7 free or only flash fried and not smoked or boneless which is a little annoying. We showed our bartender a Facebook post for 8 free wings and she honored it which was nice, even though we got 6 – 7 wings. Later on in the day, we took advantage with the buy 7 and get 7 when we ordered 14 wings. They all came out at the same time but we ordered four different sauces and no one informed us which was which. The worst part is that I purchased a Unilocal deal months ago and finally wanted to use it. Pay $ 25 for $ 35 worth of food and drink which is a good deal but when I used it, it didn’t show up on the bill. Not only that, but she charged us with the first 8 via the Facebook post. We noticed all the exclusions and spoke to our new bartender about the issue who had to go and find the bartender we started with. The check then came out again with the 8 wings for free, but again my Unilocal deal wasn’t included. This might get passed other people who have had a few beers but not me. We then asked the male bartender who was the most helpful of the day and corrected our check. Literally $ 45 came off our check like it should have been in the beginning. Overall I don’t plan on coming back after this experience. Maybe I will for an event or something but for football Sunday I know plenty of other places in the area.

I have arrived at Wing & Beer Mecca! I’ve heard that LI Pour House has the best wings on Long Island. ITISTHETRUTH! First, let me say that the beer selection is awesome! We opted for the bracelet. The waitress takes your ID, enters your name into the computer and gives you a bracelet that kind of looks like a fit bit. The wall to the left of the restaurant is lined with electronic beer selections. Tap your bracelet on your desired beer, your name pops up and you pull the lever to POUR! Thats it. Beer is charged per ounce and added to your bill as a tab. No, you do not have to wait for the busy waitress to bring your beer, because it is a BEERBUFFET! Great selection of brews also. The wings are on another level. My favorites… The dry rubs. Hickory dry rub to be exact! Wings are always fresh and crispy with great flavor! Specials??? NFL nights equal buy one get one free order of wings! $ 2 shelf drink specials on select nights at the bar and so many other specials that I suggest calling before you go to run through them all. Macaroni & cheese… slow cooked and the best I have ever had outside of my house! I can give 5 stars just for that! The BBQ selection is also great. I will return to try out more BBQ dishes. Live entertainment on select night and Pool hall only add to the Pour House experience. From the managers, to the waitresses and bar tenders, everyone is pleasant and knowledgeable regarding beers and menu items. Excellent customer service! It’s football season so I will be returning soon! In the meantime, I’ll keep dreaming about those wings! Happy Unilocaling!

I’ve been trying to write a review about this place as well as spend a few more lazy Saturdays trying out the different beers on tap. It’s a kookie concept but nevertheless a good one because there is beer involved. Here’s the skinny: They give you a glass and a bracelet. You walk over to the wall of beer. There are different taps with a picture and description of what’s being offered. I’m not a fan of IPAs and I’m in the mood a good craft beer. The choices seem really good and the color of the beer seems right. I wave my wand to the tap and BOOM! Beer… I pour myself a beer that’s about ¾ full. The color of the beer is not what’s on the picture. It was a little darker… That’s OK, I grab my beer and my chicken wings come out. The wings are a little overcooked, very sticky & saucy but they’re going down nice with the beer. The waitress comes over and asks hows everything going? I tell a joke and she starts to laugh, she kinda sounds like Melody from Josie and the Pussycats? I go back and try a different beer at ¾s full. Each beer has a different price point. I got the right beer, all I had to do is wave my bracelet. If you suck at pouring beer this is not your place. Here’e the best part, the bill. I tried two damn good beers, the price was under $ 6 bucks? Folks, that is a total home run hit! If your into craft beers and want to try something unique, come to L.I. Pour House.

I don’t like beer. There I said it and it feels good. So what was I doing at a place that boasts 20 beer taps? Glad you asked. As of yesterday they had two taps dedicated to ciders, which I do enjoy. My colleague is a beer aficionado so after work here was the place for a capper to a tough week. We got here just before 5:00. Seats at the bar were pretty scarce but there were plenty of hi-tops available and after some initial consternation about the seating process we were offered one of these. They seemed to still be working out server assignments so it took a few minutes for someone to get over to use and get us going with our bracelets but it did seem like they had plenty of help. So we have our waiter now and asks for our licenses in exchange for some bracelets and soon enough we are ready to hit the taps. They give you a pint glass and you go fill’er up with whichever of the brews you fancy. You can even make a blend if you so desire. All of the taps are labeled with a price per ounce and from what I saw you’ll pay on average around $ 0.50 an ounce so $ 8 a pint. The system works well, you cant complain at all. They have a check point set so that after every 32 ounces you need to see a staff member to re-up your bracelet. In talking with the owner he said they put this in to help people from over imbibing since some of these brews are upwards of 9% ABV. So everybody has a good time, and nobody loses their house at the end of the day. The BBQ menu is pretty interesting as well. We Started with the burnt ends which were very good. We slathered on some of the house sauce for an additional sweet tang. In the center of this plate was a vinegar Cole slaw that was the best vinegar slaw I think I’ve had. One more than one occasion I’ve had really bad vinegar slaw and so I mostly stay away from it but this was excellent for scooping up right alongside the protein. For dinner my buddy went with the LI Burger which he proclaimed an excellent burger. I gravitated immediately to the Bacon Steak. This is a 6oz piece of bacon. It is eaten with a knife and fork, This is not a bacon wrapped something. ITISPUREBACON. And it’s great. I had it with the baked beans, slaw and tater tots as sides. The sourness of the slaw with he saltiness of the bacon was great and the beans were a nice accompaniment. This was a slammin’ dish and will certainly be repeated on my next visit. The only suggestion I have for the team is to get the food hotter. Nothing was cold, it was all warm, but I think if they made better use of the cast iron plates some of the meals are served on, certainly my bacon dish and the burnt ends, served sizzling hot would push these dishes over the top. Good luck to the Pour House as they get started in a location that hasn’t been lucky in the past, but maybe they have the right formula. I’ll certainly do my part to help out.
