Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Just returned a 9 day rental from Enterprise on Rt 112 in Port Jefferson Station — much as I hate being without my own vehicle, I have to admit ENTERPRISE PJS made the experience ‘painless’ and almost enjoyable. My ALLSTATE rep made the initial arrangement — but the staff at ENTERPRISE made certain I was satisfied — even to getting the make/​model car I requested (I KNOW that is not always possible — so it was appreciated!) — my agent (?) — JUSTIN — was pleasant, personable and knowledgeable — he walked me through the process quickly, made sure I understood everything — and answered my questions clearly and completely. The atmosphere inside the office was congenial — the staff smiling and friendly (worth noting since I am already ‘not happy’ with the situation requiring the rental!) — if the need for a rental should arise again — I would not hesitate to use ENTERPRISE PJS again

This location has really inconvenient hours. Enterprise has an unfriendly return policy, so you’ll have to go elsewhere for your moving needs if you don’t want to pay double for a one day weekend haul.

I was rear ended by an electrician’s moving van. This experience was terrible, but after lots of negotiation, they agreed to pay for my damages and a rental car while my car was being fixed. I got a car from Enterprise Car Rental, within a ten minute walk from my house. Their service was excellent. I got a free upgrade and they called to check up on if I had any problems two times in the four days I had the car. They assured me on both occasions that if I had ANY problems whatsoever, they would be happy to give me a new car or solve the problem in any way they could. The employees also had no problem faxing the bill to the company that rear ended me.
Pick up and drop off services are offered, although due to my close proximity, I did not take advantage of them.
I would recommend this location of Enterprise Car Rental. If I ever have my car rear ended again, I will use Enterprise.

Hmmm. There is a lot of negatives with this Enterprise Rent-​A-​Car:
It’s in a crap location, the car dealership abandoned the building and its on the side of a smaller empty building. yuckkk
The parking lot? Looks like moons surface. They have potholes here that I swear ate a Subaru
They don’t have large auto selection
The office isn’t street level, you have to step up to this makeshift trailer/​office
The bright spot?
The customer service! I walk in after fighting with GEICO about my car repairs and everyone here was really nice and professional.
My wife came with me and was rattling off cars: Get the minivan! Get the Mercedes! (they had no Mercedes) but in the corner. I spy with my little eye, a red Camaro.
Now, I had a Camaro as a teenager. Do you know that railroad crossing «speed bump» in Sayville? Yeah. I hit that sucka doing 70mph in my Camaro,
I had mad air dude!
That’s not to say I was going to drive the Enterprise Rent-​A-​Car like that but I had the ability to do so. (putting my hand up) Silence wife!
The Camaro was a 6 cylinder but it had a nice style and I knew I’d be happy with the car for one week.
Now my rental car agent was calling me after two days, how do you like your rental, if there is anything we can do, please stop in! Very professional.
So after a week with the Enterprise Rent-​A-​Car Camaro, I learned a few things:
First — what a P.O.S car! There is no headroom and all surface parts felt cheap
Second– why doesn’t this business put their cars out front with signs: RENT ME for a week? I never knew this place existed
Third– Good customer service makes any transaction easy

Within 5 minutes of being in this tiny rental car whole tucked in between two car dealerships I am reminded of an old Seinfeld sketch when Jerry himself tries to rent a car.
Jerry, «You know how to take a reservation you just don’t know how to keep a reservation.»
Lets digress a moment: I rent a car online Thursday afternoon for friday, I call them place an hour after I make the reservation to confirm they received my info. Explicitly asking them what car i would be receiving and told most likely a Malibu although there were other cars that maybe available to pick from.
Next day I call up Enterprise at 12:15 to tell them I am running a little behind and will be there at 1pm to pick up my car and ask them directly which car do they have for me. I am told in fact it is the Malibu and it will be waiting for me when I show up.
Arrive at 12:45 go in to pick up my car and get a walkthrough around the lot and see nothing but trucks and 1 compact and 1 intermediate car.
I go inside and ask them where my Malibu is and they said those cars outside are the only vehicles available. Getting understandably frustrated I told the girl I do not want a truck and that I have a truck the reason I rented a car is because I didn’t want to use a truck this weekend. She tells me than my only choices are the mazda 2 or whatever the compact was.
Wanting to leave I just asked her straight up you guys screwed up my rental what will the mazda 2 which is like 3 categories under what I ordered would cost me assuming they would take car of me because of there screw up. The girl proudly proclaims (she was the manager btw) that the internet price is 4 dollars cheaper than what I ordered so I would save 16 dollars.
I am actually proud of myself for not pulling a farva (super troopers) and jumping over the counter tackling her. What kind of non existent customer service was this crap. When I was 18 – 21 I rented from here alot including an Infinite g35x for like a month (cost me 1300 bucks), I will never even think about using this place again.
