Apparently Ernie’s Roundup has been here for 2 years. That’s 2 years of bar tabs that I didn’t get a chance to rack up at this great little dive next to the American Legion. Frankly I’m shocked this hideaway escaped by notice.
A full bar, $ 3 shots of fireball and a DJ. A dance floor, a pool table, a big screen TV. A wall-mounted buck staring you down and cheap, strong drinks. It’s like this place was made for me and all the reprobates I know. One caveat: It is still smoking — though many of the bars are in this area.
If you’re in Port Isabel, this is a good spot for weathering a hurricane or having a cold beer after a long day of fishing.
