We love this place. Almost went next store to the new Peruvian restaurant and so glad we did not. This is our go to place prior to a show at the Capitol. The food is amazing — rec fish, ceviche and paella. Fresh, flavorful and yummy! We come from CT and cannot get authentic food very often.

A decent Peruvian restaurant, definitely wasn’t my favorite. We decided to stop by on our way to Connecticut because of the amazing food the area has to offer. It was nice seeing Peruvian food here, especially when a majority of the restaurants are Mexican or Colombian. The location is decent, with somewhat accessible parking. Décor was okay, one large room with nice tables, laid out nicely, with a small bar and flatscreen TVs. The service was quite good, efficient and friendly. The menu seemed too large, they definitely should have simplified it. They have the typical assortment of appetizers and entrees, with some dishes from neighboring countries as well. We ordered our food and were alerted that two of the entrees we wanted were not prepared yet. We came for lunch and I wanted their rotisserie chicken, the staple of Peruvian cooking, and yet they said it would be ready at 1:00. Too bad… We were given bread with a delicious garlic dip, very yummy. We started off with a chicken and a beef empanada. They were both good, although the dough wasn’t crispy enough. The beef one was yummy. I had the pollo milanesa(breaded chicken) which is what I usually get at a Colombian restaurant to see if it is good enough to come again. The chicken was too thick and was quite bland. The«salad» it was served with was just a piece of lettuce. It was served with a small side dish of rice. The dish was too simple to charge $ 11 for it, although the piece of chicken was quite large. We had a steak in pesto sauce, which was definitely not authentic, but it tasted quite good. The pasta was perfect, surprisingly, and the steak was seasoned and cooked well. The food did take long to come out of the kitchen. I did enjoy this meal, but I definitely think that there are better places in the area.

I used to go there a lot when the old owners were there. Was a bit pricey but the food and service was well worth it! I went last week for the first time since new owner and the place is a mess! Wait staff is horrible other than a short guy that was helpful. But the girls are very disrespectful… Had to ask them several times and their luck of unprofessionalism is disgusting! Flirting around and laughing and not paying attention to the tables was crazy, the food took forever to get and when we got it was cold! They open the door because of the smoke from the kitchen was getting in the restaurant and my father was sick and asked the OWNER if he can please close it because he was cold and sick and he completely ignored him!!! So done with this place! Rather drive to Queens for a good Parrillada than being treated disrespectfully!

This was the first time I have had Peruvian food, so I cannot tell you whether the food was authentic or not but it was really tastes. My steak was delicious and my friend’s vegetarian choices were also very good. Her only complaint was that the yuca wasn’t quite right, but other than that, no complaints!

The first time we went here it was great. The food was very good, and the service was okay. But that’s because there was only one other couple in the place. When we went back a couple of months later, we learned that the reviews here were spot on. Our waitress was busy kissing the bartender to adequately do her job. It seemed that every time we looked towards the bar area, there she was, planting another one. The food was pretty good, once again, but the service made this a stressful experience. We never got the side order of fried yucca that we asked for when ordering, and when we told the waitress to make sure it’s not on our bill, she said, incredulously, «You never got it?» We told her that she would have known that a long time ago if she as much as came over one time to see if everything was okay. There are too many similar restaurants in the area to bother with this one. Groupon or not.

I purchased a groupon for this restaurant, the food looked descent so I figured, why not give it a try. Well… the ambience was ok(spacious and cozy), the food was great as well as the service. But the after hour karaōke while trying to have a romantic dinner not so much, it was way way too loud. Picture trying to enjoy dinner in a nightclub and that was the experience I had. I may return being that the food and service were good, just not during karaōke time.

Pretty authentic reasonably priced Peruvian-Uruguayan restaurant. Overall, I prefer more of the Uruguayan side of the menu – meat, but their ceviche is great and abundant. The milanesa de res and ensalada rusa are great. Fries can come a bit soggy, so I ask them to cook a little longer. Good skirt steak and steak sandwich(chivito uruguayo). Chorizo and morcilla are pretty good. Their aji de gallina is a nice chicken and rice dish. The fish and seafood come fried, not so interesting. Service is friendly. Wines selection is limited.

I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant despite the poor reviews on Unilocal.I have a thing for Peruvian food and decided I wanted to give it a shot. I would like to warn EVERYONE to take the previous reviews with a grain of salt. My fiancé and I had a great experience at Inca and Gaucho. 1st off the service was very good. We were greeted with kindness and the waitresses made sure to check on us every 5 min or so as we figure out what to order. 2nd the food. With the Groupon, we were allowed an appetizer up to $ 13 and two entrees up to $ 16 each. I am not a seafood eater so our appetizer selections were limited. I really wanted the empanadas but they are priced per piece and thus not eligible for the Groupon. We ended up getting a yucca and cheese dish(forgot the name). It was just okay. For entrees, we both go the skirt steak which was delicious! We had french fries and sweet plantain on the side. Their plantain were perfect — not greasy. They provide the special green Peruvian sauce and chimichuri on the side. Both sauces were delicious. 3rd the drinks. We both had a margarita with my fiancé ordering the house one and me the Patron one. Both very good. All in all I would visit this spot again without a Groupon. I definitely want to try their chicken. I suggest people looking for a nice atmosphere(the regaeton music was a plus), good food, and good service to try this place out.

Went there last night for my birthday with my daughters who had a Groupon coupon. The outside of the restaurant does not make a very good first impression. Neither does the inside. After reading all the negative reviews before going, I was feeling very hesitant about eating there. I was given my choice of table while I waited for my daughters to arrive. The only waitress who was there gave me menus and some bread. However she did not ask if I wanted something to drink while I waited for my daughters. When my daughters arrived, we gave our appetizer order. However we had to flag down the waitress to give our entrée order. The chicken empanadas were dry. Two of us ordered the steaks, which were very good. One ordered grilled chicken, which was also good. Hey mound of fried rice was tasteless. The yellow rice was good. The nice touch was that they stopped the Latin music and played a happy birthday tune and brought me a nice Argentinian birthday dessert. The waitress was also very helpful helping us make sure that we had spent the full amount about Groupon. In summary, this restaurant could use a little sprucing up. Outside than inside could use some help and it’s very noisy if there are other parties there. Otherwise it was okay. If you have a Groupon, This is a very good deal. Prices are also reasonable. Beware of the parking situation. There are other places to eat in Port Chester, so I would not eat there again.

HORRIBLE! Waited 15 minutes for the waiter to come over, while they were standing around. Once she came over, she took out drink and dinner order. My meal came out in about 3 min, my drink hadn’t been made yet, and my boyfriends food was nowhere to be found. We waited, and waited, and waited and his food, and my drink still hadn’t arrived yet. About 20 min after my dinner came out, nothing else was out, no water, no drinks, no food for my boyfriend. My food was ice cold and no waiter in sight so we just left. Told the manager about our experience and he didn’t care at all. We seemed to be bothering him. Horrible experience in every way, horrible food, horrible service, and I assume horrible drinks. Stay away! Unless you are a glutton for punishment.

When I first got in this place I thought it was fancy. I’ve been here once and I was pretty sick that day with my manager buying me dinner. So I decided to order a kind of healthy meal which is a quarter rotisserie chicken and some salad on side. The dressing was good but served very small amount. The chicken was kind of stale. Or is it my cold playing with my taste buds? I ordered a hot cup of water, I was given a glass of water with tons of ice. Haha. I nicely asked again to give me a cup of hot water so I could dip my tea bag. I believe I was again if I wanted coffee. –_-. Overall experience was okay since my coworker/manager enjoyed her usual order of pescado ceviche.

Bait and Switch! They evidently gave me an old menu that had cheaper prices. When I got the bill, the prices were higher than what I’d been presented on the menu. I pointed this out to our server, but the owner refused to honor the menu we ordered from. They also added a 20% gratuity to the bill. That’s unusual because there was just two of us. The food wasn’t bad, but the whole experience was weird.

Came for lunch hoping to get some Peruvian roast chicken, but found out the rotisserie was down, darn it! Changed gears and got the Lomo saltado lunch special but I really had a hankering for roasted chicken. We came on the spur of the moment this time and we usually call ahead and check the availability. It seems everytime we call in an order, even if it’s a half hour early, the food is never ready and we have to wait anyway. It’s like they don’t trust you to show up and they make it when they see you’re for real. Lomo saltado is really a Chinese inspired dish with stir fried beef slices, peppers & onions served over rice, but french fries? Don’t know what or why, but it works. It’s mighty tasty and for $ 7, it’s a decent lunch deal(though it could have used more rice). Sometimes we get lucky and get street parking right in front, but you still have to pay the meter. They do check and ticket here. So bring a friend to sit in the car while you pick-up your order or just feed the meter.

I see reviews saying not to expect«Americanized Mexican food» here. Incorrect. Do not expect ANY kind of Mexican food. Not so much as a single tortilla. If you don’t know your way around Peruvian food, you will recognize NOTHING on the menu. Now, before you write me off as an ignorant American — They do have a whole Italian menu, with ravioli and spaghetti. They also have deep-fried hot dogs. And an omelet with nothing in it but french fries.(I looked up «Peruvian cuisine» on Wikipedia and couldn’t find any mention of hot dogs.) So if they can have all that other stuff, I don’t think it’s that unreasonable to think they could make a taco. At that point, you’re just being stubborn. To add to that, I guess this place is kind of a steakhouse, which Unilocal doesn’t mention. The vegetarians in our group were pretty screwed. I’ve probably eaten my weight in empanadas over the years, so at least I knew one safe thing to get. Chicken ones were okay — a little bland inside, just plain white meat chicken, but the sauces were good. Good beans, average rice. Not much spice to anything. Staff were fast and accommodating. Food was cheap. Drinks were decent. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but it didn’t live up to the 4 ½ star rating. Stop in before a show at the Capitol Theater, just don’t expect Mexican food of any sort.

We came here before a show at the capital theatre, it happens to be almost next door and we noticed good reviews in Unilocal. The scene was comfy and casual with Incan, Peruvian and Uruguayan accents and theme. We ordered empanadas with chicken and la pulpa a la copa, which was an octopus ceviche. The ceviche was pretty good, a little too acidic but overall we really enjoyed it. The bread basket with dipping sauces was the best! Two types, some sort of herb oil and some sort of garlic butter for lack of a better description. Dinner was a little over cooked, I ordered Peruvian lo mein w mariscos, and unfortunately it was a little rubbery although quite flavorful. My bf got a combo and felt that the short ribs weren’t a good cut but was other wise satisfied w the tostones, sweet bread and sausage. Oh yea, for those who don’t know sweet bread is a a type of semi-fried brain meat, pancreas, and/or thalamus glands depending on where you are, glad I didn’t know this prior to my sampling! If you’re in the area, I am recommending it for a quick bite of something different.
