I’ve been to the Kingshead Pub in Pompano, and it’s one of my favorite small local pubs to go with friends, it doesn’t stay open as late as I’d like but it’s always solid and a good time. Coming in here, I didn’t know it was owned by the same people, this place definitely has more of a British Pub feel and really makes you feel like you’ve stepped out of Florida for a while. I went with a buddy of mine and we had some food and a few beers, we went on a Monday, and on Monday’s they give you a discount off your entire bill if you order food and a drink! So that was a nice surprise! Lot’s of nice beers to choose, nothing too crafty so if you’re in search of that you might be a little disappointed, but they do have a nice selection of well-known UK offerings(as well as a great selection on tap as well) My friend ordered the wings, which were actually really good, we got a basket of chips to share… I LOVE their chips(fries) they are perfectly salted, rustic cut, and go great with a splash of malt vinegar! For my entrée I ordered the Steak and Ale pie… this was honestly REALLY good, the crust was flaky and well cooked, the inside of the pie was hearty and rustic and full of flavor, mashed potatoes were a little bland but that’s ok. What I liked the best about this place was the cozy atmosphere and the bartender that evening was playing the best music ever… no, it wasn’t UK Pub music, it was good olé’ 90s alternative rock! I honestly really enjoyed that aspect of the night. If you’re looking for some solid UK Pub fare and don’t want to spend a lot of money or get dressed up, I suggest coming here for a bite and a beer. Good times.

Good authentic British pub with a real feel. The food is excellent and the beers are nice and cold. Trivia is on Wednesday which is great. Check it out. It has a real British feel.

Solid spot. Not to be confused with an Irish bar(it’s frowned upon). I’ve been back now a few times, all very good experiences. The location puzzles me, but they get a very good local crowd and no shortage of regulars. Fried mushrooms here are like crack. No alcohol but that’s not something I need, especially with top tier drafts and bottles. I recommend the cottage pie as well.

Amazing everything including a Fish & Chips! Would recommend without hesitation. Victoria our host could not have been more friendly and helpful with all of our choices for food and drink!

Want to sit in a cozy dark wooden pub and nosh on hearty British classic meals that stick to your ribs? This is the spot! Been here twice– once for drinking and once for eating and both were great experiences. Late night drinks at the bar featured a friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and interesting neighborhood characters for trading bar stories and dinner with a small group was intimate and casual. The food was hearty — great winter meals for the upcoming 60 degree FL winters around the corner. I had the cottage pie, which was served in a large ramekin. The mash was crusted over on top to reveal piping hot and tasty meat and veggies in a gravy underneath. Green pees were on the side. The table had beer battered fish and chips, beef stew with Guiness gravy and some other puff pastry beef filled gravy goodness with a side of mash. Delish! Live band on Friday night was great and plenty of beers on tap to select from. The ambience is casual and buzzing with neighborhood folks, typical of a British pub. Glad they are within walking distance and welcome to the hood.

Came in here once, looking for an authentic British Pub, as many of my favorites have closed or lost their British Pub Vibe. This place is relatively new, but is off to a good start. When you walk-in, there is defiantly the British Pub ambiance and distinct smell. I love the wood floors, it gives it that cozy feel. Of course I have to have the fish and Chips! No complaints! The chips were homemade, as well as the cole slaw, and the fish was golden crispy and delicious! Every other food dish looked amazing as well! My only grip is that there was Heinz Malt Vinegar and not Sarson’s Malt Vinegar. But they did have HP sauce! The beer selection is right on par, with traditional British beer selections, which is a good thing. I feel that when a British pub offers a plethora of «craft Beers», it loses it’s vibe. A few«Craft Beer» offerings is not a bad thing though. This is the British Pub I expect one to be.

I stopped in for a late Friday night drink and was amazed by the awesome live band playing, they were amazing playing Pink Floyd classics, and the restaurant/bar offers an intimate cozy ambiance. The bartender was super friendly, we only ordered the Pretzel which was great, served warm with a side of cheese sauce. The drinks were good, reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning to try the food that everyone keeps on raving about.

I’m a fan. Fine music. Good beer from across the pond. Very good pricing. Only £4 for a wexford Irish cream ale and many other affordable ales, stouts, porters and lagers. I look forward to trying the food soon. Wish the rugby world cup was on though.

I’ve stopped in here twice and love it. It is a small place but nice character. The fish and chips are excellent and they have a nice selection of beer. I would like to come back and check out the live music and their pub trivia nights.

Came with my dad a couple weeks ago while on vacation. I asked the bartender how her Black and Tan pour is, she said it’s ok, it’s better than ok it was a fantastic pour. Usually in any British pub or restaurant I get fish and chips but the clam strips spoke to me that day, I tried them and they were absolutely perfect. They came with chips and I order a side of curry to dip my chips. Curry was great, chips were good, even better dipped in curry. All in all a great experience eating at this newer location(I’ve reviewed the other a few years back) great staff, great looking and nice and clean inside, and great food. Cheers.

I’ve returned here 4 times since last reviewing. Not a lot has changed, however today I had the distinct pleasure of meeting my server. She made what would have been a rather quiet light lunch(sausage rolls and a brûlée) exceedingly pleasurable. Granted I was the only one at the bar and the single table left shortly after my arrival, but Victoria wasted little time in getting to know me. It was so unexpected and disarming that I opened up considerably. We chatted on a few matters and she not only listens but also returns the conversation. Every bar and restaurant needs to earn their repeat business. This little spot does a decent job of doing that with the tasty food. Drinks are drinks and there’s little you can do to those but here the winning is in Katrina and Victoria. They truly make you feel very comfortable, they are efficient and overall just pleasing to be with. I look forward to the next time.

Nice homie spot where you feel very welcome and you are always remembered. Fish and chips, beef and Guinness pie, bangers and mash. You can’t go wrong.

The bartender is awesome! Always makes you feel like family. The food is scrumptious and Thursday night is ladies nights so your draft beers and wines are free with your entrée! Makes the place even more ahhhhmazing.

Best fish & chips in pompano… As good as Fish Shack but better ambiance and not so crowded. Authentic as it gets with coat/purse hooks at the bar, friendly people and self seating. I hesitate to tell everyone how good it is because I am making this my local pub and I hate overcrowding. But it is too good to be kept a secret. Steak and ale pie is also delish.

Man of My Word, 5 Stars Well I didn’t have the fish and chips at the Sunrise location, but I had them here. They are outstanding! I stopped by here after going to the Pompano Seafood Festival. Yeah I know that statement alone sounds crazy but the food was way too expensive there. So here I came. Food Just to make sure the recipes were are par with the Sunrise location, we ordered the spicy fried mushrooms. Bingo! They are exactly prepared like the ones in Sunrise. Hand battered, fresh mushrooms, not that Sysco stuff. By far the best fried mushrooms in Broward. So far so good:) I had to order the fish and chips. I was starving and I’ve been wanting to try their version for years now. So out it comes nice Haddock filet NOT that crappy Basa fish that a lot of restaurants serve to save money. Shame on any restaurant that serves that Vietnamese farm raised crap. Sorry about that Had to get that off my chest. It was nicely fried and not oily at all. A sprinkle of malt vinegar on top and a rip off a piece with my hands and place some tarter sauce on top. Fucking outstanding! I’ve had fish and chips in London, Epcot England, and the old Rose and Crown in west Fort Lauderdale and this one ranks right up there with all three of those places. The ying to this yang is the fries. The fish can be great but if the fries suck it throws off the entire dish. I’m happy to report that these fries were the perfect compliment to the fish. The skins of the potato were left on and it looked like they were hand cut. The best fries/chips in Broward are at Waxys O’Connors in east Ft. Lauderdale. These are just as good. Ambiance There isn’t much to this restaurant. The place is very clean. Does it look like an authentic English Pub… no. I say that because I’ve been to London, Bath, Leister, and Stratford. Does it look like and American version of an English Pub, yes. Dark woods, Guinness Beer paraphernalia, the Union Jack, an area for one dart board, and a bar. Oh yes and soccer on the TVs. You can’t replicate a true English Pub in a strip mall. As for anyone who has never been to England but to other English pubs in America this has the vibe of one. I will tell you this, as I was sitting inside, I was thinking why the hell don’t they open one of these in Coral Springs(where I live). We need one of these in my town. Verdict I’m a huge fan. Issues that define a great English Pub; awesome food, beer and friendly service. This joint has all three. I don’t need anyone with an English accent tell me this place is solid. I know it is. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Fabulous food, friendly staff, what more can you ask for? I lived around the corner from the Sunrise location and just mentioned this is one of the few places I missed from my old neighborhood and then perusing Unilocal one evening I find they opened a location in Pompano. … yeah! Fish and chips are the best I’ve ever had. Didn’t have desert today, but they were always good as well. I absolutely recommend either location.

Incredible place! There are three things I look for in a pub: good beer, good food, and good staff. They have all three. I was greeted warmly by several staff members and immediately engaged in a hospitable atmosphere. I stopped by for a quick beer and an appetizer, but ended up staying for three beers and a meal. I will definitely return because unlike most trashy Pompano Bars, this one has a very chill atmosphere and normal people. I figured this would be just like every Pompano bar, so I «low-balled» it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I will defiantly have to come back hungry. They have a wonderful menu and I very much enjoyed their friendly staff. I was informed that they have another very successful location in Sunrise and I can see why. I cannot wait to return with my friends in the future. I am happy to have a nice little English Pub close to home!

What with it being within one of what I’ve previously termed as a «seen better days» strip mall of Pompano, I didn’t expect much in the way of decent food when deciding to give Kingshead a try, but I was in for a delightful surprised. When I entered I noted a rather spacious dining and bar area of distinctive British pub décor. Though nothing I would mistake for any of the ones I’ve experienced when in England, not all that bad a facsimile considering I’m in Pompano. Upon entering I was warmly greeted by a most pleasant bartendress, ordered a Newcastle on draft and requested a menu. I found their menu surprisingly complete with all sorts of as they say«farye» offerings; bangers and mash, cottage pie, a steak and ale pie, Guinness stew and a fish and chips just to name a few. Also a good assortment of «Pub Grub» items like New«English» clam chowder, sausage rolls, wings(albeit that they looked more Buffalo than British), etc. My surprise, however, was when I asked the question of whether or not there were any specials not listed on the menu. Naturally I expected no to be the answer, but it wasn’t, as she then told me of several special items of day along with varying sides to choose from. I choose a meat pie, the name of which I unfortunately am unable to remember, hence I’ll just refer to it as «English Mystery Pie,» along with peas and gravy. What I do remember, however, is how very good it was; truly exceptional and one of the best most fully flavored meat based pies it has ever been my pleasure to have had. Why it isn’t a part of their standard«fayre» I wouldn’t know, but would think that it should be. It came in a mound form of excellent totally flakey crust with pronounced pepper like flavors of meat that coupled with cooked in olives and tomato rendering exceptional flavor and taste. Hopefully I’ll later find that the rest of their offerings stand up to the taste of this offering, but assuming they will, I’ll venture Four Stars for Kingshead
