Took a trip up to PPB this weekend to enjoy the warm weather on the boardwalk. Joe Leone’s was an amazing find. The selection and service were amazing. I’ll be making the trip back to PPB for sure.

Love the sandwiches! Prepared foods are very overpriced and mediocre at best. The last time I ordered a veal dish I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife, ended up throwing it out. Go for the sandwiches, they are good.

Their eggplant is unlike any other. It is phenomenal. Everything else I have had is just ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. They are very reasonably priced.

BEWARE of the Italian sausage. It’s horrible! Greasy, fatty, tasteless. I got better at super markets. Also, they don’t even sell Imported cold cuts. A place like this! Unbelievable! Other items are Excellent(bread, ricotta, mutzy, cheeses). Just stay away from the above mentioned. Go to Lenny’s or Mid-Shore Meats in Toms River. That’s it! Gave you a good heads up. I know excellent sausage. Made it for years. They don’t have it. Trust me!

Joe Leone’s is the go to place for authentic Italian take out food on the Shore. Not only is the food high quality with a great variety of hot dishes and sandwiches but the client service is top notch. Coming from Brooklyn where there are many outstanding Italian deli’s, Joe Leone’s is at the top of the list.

Impressive is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Joe Leone’s. A blend of old and new world elements, the exterior, interior, service, packaging, and every bit of the albeit small relative to its vast selection of packaged and prepared foods I’ve experienced from here is done right. Some things are overpriced($ 8 each for a not large jar of hot peppers that I buy by the case for my mother, for instance) but perhaps there’s a reason(beyond all the accounterments/finery which only justifies so much)? Others are just expensive in a you get what you pay for kinda way. But much is priced reasonably. Definitely worth the experience of just walking in and havng a look, even if you leave with something small like a pasta ciotti which, if you don’t know, awesome.

Now we are talking! These guys do it right! Spot on! The place is busy and the food looks amazing. I had the sausage and peppers and broccoli Rabe, amazing! So many items to choose from and everyone is very helpful! That’s the reason this place is successful and not a tourist pit, like most of the other places in Point Pleasant. They have everything imaginable and very festive and positive. From the moment you walk in. Cookies, sandwiches on different style breads, hot food for lunch, rice balls, etc… to many to even name! I am absolutely recommending anyone who wants Italian Food done the right way, this is the only place in the area. You will love it! They thought it out and paid attention to details as well as the clientele! Fantastic!

How can you not be impressed with this place!!? It’s like you steeped into a Manhattan Costco size Italian market mixed with an Italian store mixed with a jersey mikes sub shop mixed with a bakery mix all you need in one place!!! The food is great! The variety is amazing It’s fresh The people who work there are nice and the prices are fair! I live in Manhattan and I was like wow what took me so long to get there I’m never cooking Sunday dinner again Love this place and they have stuff that’s hard to find My fav it’s the Italian long peppers The pasta is great and you might as well get a hero here just with the amazing semolina bread

Delicious Italian specialty items. The staff is very helpful in giving tips and offering great suggestions. The sausage breads(and others) are fantastic. Tiramisu was wonderful. They carry Pastosa, which is something I grew up on in NY and can’t find nowadays. Great selection of items, overall. Can’t wait to go back again!

This is the best place to get prepared foods and Italian specialties ! There bread, mozzarella, salads and sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. The free samples always has me bringing home more food. There catering service is also excellent.

i was walking around the boardwalk looking for some lunch options when i pulled up my Unilocal app and saw so many good reviews for joe leone’s. don’t be silly like me and think this is a restaurant though! it is a place to pop in and pick up food to go! and don’t come super hungry because you will want to buy everything! it is kind of like the deli/hot food section at the grocery store. there are a few stations: cheese and olives, warm food, sandwiches, sweets. the prices are really reasonable and the food is of high quality. i had some prosciutto wrapped mozzarella, the buccatini pasta, a giant meatball, and rainbow petit fours all for under $ 15. i was there during the off season but i can imagine how crowded it gets in there. i was able to find a table outside to sit and eat but i would prefer to take it home next time.

I may have been too psyched up for this place. After living in Hoboken I have to say this place wouldn’t last more than 6 months there. It was just OK. Fresh mutz was AWESOME. Greek salad was great. Cold Sandwiches: bread– ROCK hard(how can you sell that?!), chicken cutlet only fried on one side/hot sandwiches: chicken parm sandwiches cold and soggy bread. I can’t speak for the hot food– I hope that’s what all the rave is about.

I’m from up North, I’m Italian and I’m gluten free so you could imagine I’m not easy to please. This place is ahhhmazzinng. Fresh spread to take out… I wish I could eat in somewhere… they need to create some seating for the place. EVERYONE there is super helpful and accommodating. They were even willing to make something gf for me on a day they don’t normally. Just one serving! A plus in my book and I’ve only been there once. Roasted potatoes are OMGDELISH. The chick parm was REALLYGOOD. My bf was really happy with his food too. Gf meatballs are also good! Can’t wait to go back. If they were affordable I would totally ask them to cater my wedding!

Just visited today and it’s as good as ever. I don’t think the prices are that bad. The bread loaves are top quality and cheaper than Wegman’s. Prepared foods are consistently high quality. Today we got the chimichurri grilled steak, chicken parm, sourdough bread and cajun crab spread(among other things) and all were excellent. Lots of samples around the store and the employees are all super helpful and pleasant. Nice job, Joe.

Was in PPB for the second time this past weekend and couldn’t skip Joe Leone’s. The products at this european style grocery store are amazing. The best thing to get here(other than the fresh mozz) are the sandwiches, the ingredients are amazing. Will come back next trip!

Joe Leone’s is fantastic! They are perfect if you’re arriving at the shore and need to bring a dish to a BBQ that you’re attending or want to take home some treats! When calling to check hours they were very pleasant on the phone. The check out areas are well organized and there are plenty of employees on the floor to help answer questions. The mozzarella is amazing. I would also recommend the stuffed breads! Their potato salad is excellent too. I am looking forward to trying more of the prepared meals too.

Go ahead walk in… those smells rate a 5. Grabbed some chicken parm, sausage and peppers, rolls, salads, lunch meat… and the way my prosciutto was lovingly handled and sliced oh so thin… go ahead smell it… sooooo good. The employees are suited like their gonna perform surgery. loved it. Our«girl» followed us down the case helping and answering the«what’s THAT?» questions. Great baked goods… and yeah connolis made to order. Olive bar… sauces…I’m done going to get some sausage.
