Salon Esencia

Got my haircut here a few weeks ago and I am incredibly disappointed in my experience given all the good reviews. I felt like a second class citizen getting my hair cut here.
I arrived on time for my 3:15 appointment and Elizabeth’s previous appointment was running over which wasn’t a big deal. While I was waiting, a woman came in with her 2 young children. Elizabeth was finally ready for me about 15 minutes later. She got me all situated in her chair and then informed me that she had to go fix a «bangs emergency». Apparently the little girl that had come in while I was waiting had decided to give herself a haircut and butchered her bangs. Since Elizabeth and that mom are apparently friends from church I got to sit there for another 5 or so minutes twiddling my thumbs…
Once she actually started cutting my hair her dad and son came in to visit twice so I was once again just sitting there… I was in and out in by 3:45 but there’s no way she spent more than 10 minutes actually interacting with me.
The haircut looked fine until I put my hair in a pony tail that night. I had 3 random chunks of hair sticking out of my pony tail! I got a lob, that’s a long bob. There definitely shouldn’t have been uneven hair sticking out in random places. I just made my boyfriend cut them off for me. I won’t be back. I paid $ 40 for an uneven haircut and to feel like I was far less important than everyone else who walked in after me.

Danielle did my hair for a special occasion today, she did an amazing job! Usually when you go to do an up do the stylist asks the typical «where are you going» question and makes the typical «oh, how fun!» remark. Danielle and I actually had a fun conversation! She’s really cool and we shared lots of laughs. The salon is super, I was able to make a last second appointment and am super happy that I went there!

Elizabeth Ponce did an amazing job cutting and styling my long hair! I am a first time customer to Salon Esencia and after the great experience I had yesterday, I will absolutely be a regular in Elizabeth’s chair. I asked for a trim and some long layers, and after a few questions she got my intent. I have relatively thin, long hair, and usually when I get a cut it looks pretty much the same except a little shorter. After Elizabeth’s cut today it looks more full and healthy. She thought it would look good with some waves, so after the blow dry she styled it super cute with a curling iron. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes, which included a full shampoo/​condition with a lovely scalp massage. And in the course of conversation I told her I had been in the military for a number of years and she paused and really thanked me for my service, which was cool. She is so nice and professional, and did such a great job on my hair that I will absolutely be coming back! Also, the salon itself is really cute and conveniently located on St Mary & Main St with plenty of parking nearby.

Elizabeth Ponce has been my stylist since moving to Dublin in December 2014. She is pleasant and up beat! She makes every visit enjoyable. She has incredible hair color knowledge. My hair has always been fabulous when she is finished. I highly recommend Elizabeth for all your hair care needs. :-)

Elizabeth Ponce is an incredible stylist! Very talented in color, styling, hair cuts and make-​up. She is professional, sweet and very accomplished. She makes every visit fun and I leave the salon with hair that is perfectly colored, cut and styled. She is the only stylist that has been able to make sure my hair doesn’t have a brassy look.
I have been Elizabeth’s client for over 6 years and wouldn’t dream of going to anyone else.

I was referred to Janiece at the end of 2014, and got my hair done from her for the first time. She is absolutely AMAZING. She always has a great vision, and I’m never disappointed. I love her passion for hairstyling and you can definitely see that! I live all the way in Vallejo, and it’s definitely worth the drive coming to her and giving life to my hair!

Roxanne gave me the best color and cut since I moved here 2.5 years ago! An edgy yet classy rich red to compliment a trendy A line cut.
Roxanne knows hair and color very well; seems like it comes natural for her.
I HIGHLY recommend her… not to mention HER make up and hair were done superbly!

Janiece is a color goddess!!! WOW she really works wonders when it comes to coming up with brilliant, vibrant colors.
I found Janiece on Groupon and although there was a mixup with the launch of her Groupon, she still honored the special price for me. This was so nice of her and I really appreciated it!
When I first got there, I briefly told Janiece my style and I could see a lightbulb immediately went off! She got super excited and knew exactly what I was looking for. She worked her magic making a beautiful toner for my warm and natural looking ombré. For some reason, I could tell she knew what she was talking about and I just felt like I could trust her. While she worked, we chatted a lot and it felt like we had been friends for years. After she washed out the toner and started to blow dry it, the color really started to show and I was in shock. It was soo beautiful and warm, not like anything I’ve gotten before. She then worked her magic and gave me beautiful flowing layers.
That night, I went to a work holiday party and got so many compliments on my hair. I sent a picture to my mom and sister and both wanted to see Janiece ASAP! In fact, my sister ended up booking with Janiece 2 weeks later and she also loved her color and cut! Best yet? She gave my sister the same discount I got without us even asking– how sweet is that! I would definitely recommend Janiece to anyone! I can’t wait to go back and see what other amazing things she does with my hair!

Janiece has been doing my hair since I was 13… I’m 19 now and I’ve followed her where ever her is. This salon is so cute and gives off a great vibe. I’m always excited for my hair appointment. I’m a natural brunette and she’s taken to me platinum blonde (it was a process). She always makes sure my hair stays healthy and strong.
Last year I wanted to cut my hair into a pixie and she made my cut so sassy. I loved it!
We’ve gone from brunette, brown, red, copper. You name it and she does it while keeping your hair away from damage.
I HIGHLY recommend to see Janiece!

Salon Esencia is such a cute relaxed salon. It has such a cozy feel and I love that. My first time there was a great experience! Rachel is an amazing hairdresser, she knew exactly what I wanted and made it happen. My hair feels and looks great! If you’re looking for a salon/​hairdresser I definitely recommend Salon Esencia and Rachel, you will not be disappointed! :)

I have been going to Casandra for several years. She does my color, spiral perm and haircuts. You would think that with color, highlights and a perm, my hair should be fried. Not at all, so much so that people stop me all the time to ask if I have a perm or if it’s natural because they just love my hair! Casandra is the best of the best! She uses all of the best products and styling aids, while keeping the cost extremely affordable.
I love my hair and I owe it to my stylist!

I was first impressed by how pretty this salon is! My stylist was Janiece and she was amazing. I finally had the guts to get highlights and Janiece did an excellent job. She’s very friendly and if you tell her what you want her to do with your hair, she’ll do it. I recommend this salon and Janiece!

It’s always a pleasant experience going to see Janiece. She is amazing. She is very detailed with the job that she does. I’m very happy with the service she provides. I haven’t been disappointed at all. Love the products they use in the salon. I went to try to purchase them at a beauty supply store since I hadn’t been in to see Janiece, but they didn’t offer them since the company specialize in working with smaller salons. I make sure to stock up.

Can’t believe this is the first review I’m writing, I’ve been coming to Salon Esencia for many years now and every time I come I am ecstatic after my services. Cassandra is my stylist and every time she makes sure to use a lot of care when dealing with my hair. She does not use harsh chemicals that’ll damage my already thin hair, hehe. She asks me what I would like and then gives me the complete run down of each step. When I ask her opinion she always gives me a straight up answer. There’s never an awkward moment with her either, in the time that I’m there she is very attentive and we always laugh. Love this place, and Cassandra of course!

These ladies are amazing. The salon is beautiful. Heather did a lovely job on my teenagers hair today. She did a color consult and helped her to get what she wanted without having to bleach etc. The results were amazing. Also I have had experience with Heather and Janiece for hair updo’s and makeup. They are great at creating pinup style hair and makeup. Sweet ladies who are very good at what they do.

Awesome! The blow out is gorgeous. Elizabeth got me in last minute (thank you!). The price is perfect! *Ask about her Thur /​Friday specials.
The salon is clean, there’s lots of street parking & everyone was friendly. :)

I had my hair done by Kelly she honestly took my hair and completely changed my look, I love it and I found myself a new hair stylist! But my tip to you go to Kelly for all or any hair cut, color, or both :)

Salon Esencia is my home away from home. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Salon Esencia deserves a reality television show.
Every time I go (which is probably twice a week) I get a show. Casandra is my go to for my fabulous hair, make up, and brows. I owe her everything for making me somewhat feminine!
Not only do I always leave the salon looking fabulous, I always have some outrageous story from the other stylists. Oh yeah, and the hunky eye candy coming from the Law Office next door has got to be a plus!

Again Elizabeth NEVER disappoints!
I’m naturally a very dark brunette and as you can see in my picture, elizabeth has taken VERY good care of my now pale ash blonde hair. She is gentle at washing and styling and it’s always 5 stars, the highlight of my week! Give salon esencia a try, you WON’T regret it.

With so many salons to choose from within a 5 mile radius, it really comes down to who happens to be open on a Monday afternoon when I suddenly decide that my hair is getting really flat and unkempt.
That would be Salon Esencia, bless their hearts.
I didn’t have an appointment and was told to come back in an hour by Casandra. True to her word, I came back in an hour and was seated fairly quickly after that. She was really friendly, sat me down and made sure she had down exactly what I wanted. Thank god she was easy to talk to and kept a good conversation going. There’s nothing worse than sitting in the chair and hearing nothing but *snip* *snip*. So awkward. Anyway, she did a fabulous job with my hair. My hair looks, feels, and smells fantastic. The best part is, I got 15% off as a first-​timer to the salon and paid a little over $ 40 for my cut.
Go see Casandra! She knows what she’s doing. I’ll be back again (this time with an appointment). The salon is so cute and homey!
