Dr. Jupina repaired my meniscus and torn ACL years ago after a wakeboarding accident. I had a cadaver graft. Not only did I recover quickly after my surgery, I recovered fully and I’m back to doing the things that I love! Running on pavement, wakeboarding, everything. I was a bit sore for up to 2 years after surgery but eventually the soreness went away as I worked hard to strengthen my knee again. Do what he tells you… Physical Therapy ISCRUCIAL! Great surgeon, great staff, zero complaints:) thanks Dr. Jupina for giving me my sports back! Stefani, Tracy, Ca

I started being seen by Dr. Jupina around 10⁄2010 after having a work injury. I had surgery on 12÷7÷10 for a tore meniscus in my knee etc. Basically I never recovered from my surgery. I’ve been going back and forth for a few years telling him how bad my knee was hurting and yes he may seem concerned but did little to help. He treated me like I was making the pain up and he wasn’t friendly. I had to be seen by another Physician for them to see that I do indeed need additional medical attention for my knee. I stopped seeking care from him 11⁄2013 for numerous reasons. I’ve followed his recommendations for physical therapy and got the cortisone shot. Nothing helped!!! It took me to be seen by another physician now for me to get the medical attention I’ve been waiting to have. If you want a knee that you can hear«pop» when you walk, this is your guy.

Unfortunately, I have to report the Dr. Jupina might have cost me my career had I not sought treatment elsewhere. I complained to him about pain, swelling, and lack of mobility for months after surgery. He listened and appeared concerned, but never actually did anything. I had a consult with another Doctor who, although unfamiliar with the device Dr. Jupina installed in my leg, simply read the literature about the device and learned that 25% of the surgeries have complications due to wire being too tight. My new surgeon operated within a week and I feel like someone removed an ice pick from my ankle. The new doctor came in and saw me after surgery and called me at home to check on me(what a difference)! I am still in awe that I remained in pain and out of work for so long simply because Dr. Jupina didn’t take the time… Very upset.

I am a walking train wreck in terms of injuries. When I was six, I broke my arm roller skating. My mom didn’t believe me, told me to sit down and watch Sesame Street, and FINALLY realized something was wrong when I went into shock. When I was 10, I broke my tooth from skateboarding on my knees on my cool orange Nash skateboard and faceplanting into the sidewalk. In high school during track/cheerleading seasons I suffered any number of ailments such as a sprained ankle, a pulled groin muscle(during a hurdle race, no less), pulled my glute during cheerleading tryouts, and fractured my right medial femoral condyle due to those stupid hurdles. When I was 26, I drove into a tree with my car and had a closed compound fracture of my left ulna & radius which required an ORIF. Good times. In the past few years, I’ve had knee pain. I’m not really a runner, but I do a lot of weight exercises at the gym. The pain comes and goes, sometimes severe, and sometimes nothing at all. I saw Dr. Jupina for this a couple of years ago and got an MRI– have a torn medial meniscus. Dr. Jupina gave me my options– including surgery. At the time, I decided against it, and have lived with it. Earlier this year, I went back to discuss surgery again– but didn’t go through with it because I had to get a stupid root canal. What’s great about Dr. Jupina is he is professional, straight forward, and will discuss everything with you. He is never rushed, and does not pressure you into surgery(unlike some orthopedic surgeons I know). I still plan on having my surgery in the future, and would only trust Dr. Jupina.
