Sometimes I really hate giving away something that I want to keep to myself. I should just quit Unilocal and mind my own bees wax. My OCD doesn’t allow it though. Neither does my stomach. My dental hygienist recommended coming here for lunch. She said the quality of the food was very above average. The menu was a little daunting as you stand there and try to read it. I was craving a Hot Dog so that is what I was going for. They have an interesting item called the Down Town Deli Dog. Swiss cheese, onion, sauerkraut Dijon mustard. Garlic mustard. Pickles. It was nothing like what I pictured in my head but I was incredibly impressed. The Dog itself is split down the middle and put on a Dutch Crunch Roll. The rolls are all made in house and are fresh as can be. The best Dutch Crunch Roll Ive ever had. EVER! The crust of this bread in indescribable. I could not believe the quality. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that this lunch would wind up like this. The way this thing looks cant describe how good it really is. It was one of the more unique Hot Dog/Sanwiches Ive ever had. The Owner also came over to every customer to see how they were doing. So friendly and personable. They actually cook things and don’t microwave like some places do also. Which I think explains the wait. Personally, Ill wait, because its fantastic! A great place with great cooked food. Ive died and gone to heaven. Completely hidden gem that I’m just kicking myself for divulging my newly found addiction. Well, I was pretty much already addicted to Hot Dogs and carbs so they are just a dealer feeding my habit. And if there is a heaven, there better be Dutch Crunch Bread from Amelias available.

This is a sandwich shop that serves breakfast. Go for the sandwiches. The breakfast is a disaster. Stay out of the fountain on their patio, you’re embarrassing me.

Again, the food takes FOREVER to get, even when the place is not busy. I ordered the a half vegetarian sandwich with a half salad. The salad came with bacon all over it. So, I went inside, and said«I did not realize the side salad came with bacon on it. I am a vegetarian». She then made me pay for another salad.($ 3.50) =( Then the other lady came out and asked how everything was, and I told her what happened. And she said, «what? she made you pay, oh you should not have paid for that.» She walked back inside and never came out. haha! My hubby enjoyed his food. They make a great dutch crunch. We also got an italian soda, beer, & chips. The bill was $ 30, you would think they could hook it up with a new side salad!

–1 Star for the eternity it took them to make two sandwiches(were talking a 20 min wait with an empty store except for me and the man and we both got cold sandwiches) –1 Star for being able to stand in front of a register, read the correct order back, and still manage to get the order wrong. That being said we were craving dlie sandwhiches because it was hot. I got their sleeper sandwhich w/out the blue cheese and mustard. Jake got the blt. My sandwhich was great except for the wrong bread. Somehow soughsough bread and split dutch crunsh roll sound the same? I laughed because our receipt even read sourdough bread. Not an end all to life but come on its not that hard to read a ticket. I also had to wipe off some of the mayo, blegh. I like mayo but i dn’t want to have it as a dipping sauce. Jakes BLT was eh he said. The bacon was cold and not very cripsy with a lot of fat on it too so he ende dup taking about half of it off. We gave the place a shot since it was close but don’t think we’ll be coming back when we’ve had better in the area.

Came here last week and got a chicken Cesar sandwich — very tasty! Their home made dutch crunch roll is amazing — best Ive ever had!

This place switched over management and moved many years ago from another location in Pleasanton. I believe the quality of their sandwiches and food have declined; additionally the consistency of their food is sub-par(most notably the freshness of their bread). I always order the same sandwich, and it tastes different everytime.

Personally… I would give ZERO stars! This place is GARBAGE! I went on my lunch break and waited on my order for 20 mins. I ordered a simple soup and salad which could be the most disgusting meal I ever ate! At the price of nearly $ 9 for this garage I wanted a refund but could not stay any longer as I had to be back at work. The soup I ordered was supposedly Tomato Bisque. Ugh… completely watered down soup from a can! I was pissed! The salad was their shrimp and crab salad. Honestly, it looked like someone barfed all over a huge bed of iceburg lettuce. I could not see any crab nor shrimp. Well… the shrimp was actually a bunch of cut up shrimp all in some kind of pinkish mixture dumped on the lettuce. GROSSFOOD people… and I do consider myself somewhat of a foodie. I would highly recommend Erik’s Deli Café for this type of meal. It’s located in Pleasanton also.

This place is a little bit goofy. My husband and I joke about their hours because they seem to be closed a lot of the time, but I guess whatever works. The menu has about a thousand items on it. The restaurant sort of suffers from not knowing what it wants to be when it grows up. There are all kinds of sandwiches, some breakfast items, salads, soups, and a handful of random entrée type meals. The lack of focus comes through a bit in the food as it can really be hit or miss. The breakfast waffles tasted microwaved, so I wouldn’t really head there for breakfast. The eggs and hash browns were pedestrian as well. For breakfast, you are probably better off heading to Rising Loafer, Dean’s Café, or Jim’s Restaurant. The sandwiches have been anywhere from dreadful to awesome, and it is hard to predict why. They have a turkey cranberry sandwich that is really quite tasty. That was a hit the last time out. Their soups(the sweet corn soup in particular) are actually pretty good. Not always served hot enough, they don’t skimp on flavor. Getting the soup/salad combo is not a bad way to go. The salads are ok, and the combo comes with just a pretty basic house salad. Price-wise, this place seems a bit overpriced for the level of service and food, but the outdoor area is a nice plus, and the location just off the farmer’s market on Saturdays is nice. All in all, Amelia’s is ok. We rarely target the place as a destination, but when we are walking by, we do stop in from time to time. Amelia’s is more a crime of opportunity than a crime of passion.

I only have one experience here — but my experience was just fine. I ordered a «Huge Breakfast Burrito» with Italian sausage. It wasn’t as huge as I thought it was going to be for the price but it was really tasty. I had it to go so I didn’t spend much time inside with the overall environment.

This place is A-OK Ordered a Lavash signature gourmet sandwich — its turkey, cream cheese, spinach, tomato, and cheddar cheese pinwheels in tomato wrap with a side of potato salad. Didn’t care much about the salad, but the sandwich was appetizing. I’m not one to complain about prices, but it was pretty high. I paid $ 11.49 and that’s without a drink.

I really like this place. The food is great and the place is cute, the only thing I would complain about is probably the price, and it’s not often that is something I complain about. I really like the variety of sandwiches and how they have a lot of choices that are different. The potato salad is awesome! But again, the price. I will buy a sandwich, small potato salad, and a drink and walk out paying $ 17 bucks! Man… I could be served for that price. I understand that the economy is hard, etc, but at least have a combo option where you can save a few bucks in the event that you purchase a full meal. Overall though, great food.

This place is alright. The sandwiches are very good, but they are also pretty expensive and not that speedy when it comes to service. I came here with coworkers for lunch and it took awhile for all the sandwiches to our table and they came out 1 or 2 sandwiches at a time(for 5 people). I ordered«The Sleeper»(minus mustard and the included blue cheese and added bacon). It was definitely a hearty sandwich and had all the flavor I like in a sandwich. My sandwich was almost $ 9BUT they didn’t charge extra for adding bacon like a lot of places do. It comes with the tiniest tub of coleslaw which was pretty forgettable… I liked the outside patio to eat, but if you want a cheaper sandwich with fresher bread to-go, I’d go to Bagel Street Café.

Had a weekday lunch here a couple of weeks ago on a nice, sunny day. The employee was willing to give me a sample of a salad I wanted to try. Good thing; it wasn’t anything special to add to my meal. Sandwich and fries were OK, but nothing special. Overpriced for the food. Sitting outside was nice but the shiny tables makes it hard to avoid the sunlight blinding us.

I really enjoy the sandwiches here. Sandwiches that are worth a try(esp. on dutch crunch): Turkeyberry Tandoori Chicken Amelia’s Veggie Crab or Lobster Sandwich? — the Friday Special(super cheesy/creamy) The only reason I am giving this place 4 starts instead of 5 is because a few times I have come and the dutch crunch bread has been stale. Also the salads are not impressive at all. Not worth the money(when is salad worth the money anyways?) so skip the salad and go for the sandwiches. Also tried breakfast here before — pretty darn good. I have to try more from the breakfast menu.

The veggie omelet is delicious! It’s filled with artichokes, broccoli and onions. Comes with potatoes and fruit. Nice outdoor shaded area.

The sandwiches are pretty good, but pricey. The service… well, the staff can be friendlier, that’s for sure. And they need to hire more people. I’ve been there a few times b/c my husband really likes their Pleasantonian sandwich, so I go for him. I was there with my son last week and we waited half an hour — HALFANHOUR — for 2 sandwiches! Thank goodness my son was patient, or as patient as a 16 month old can be when he’s hungry, but sheesh, people, come on now! I almost asked if I could go behind the counter & make my own sandwiches, LOL.

Wow this place has such potential with a great location and I have tried in now 3 times and not again! It is the highest priced deli in Pleasanton and I seriously thought the soup was a joke. Tasted like a low calorie weight watchers soup… very bland and just not good. Some sort of shredded chicken in it. Yuck. The tuna is good but that is the only sandwich I had that is good. I work downtown and eat out there daily… prefer Me & Mai’s around corner… or even quizno’s for the $ gets my biz… Sorry Amelia… I tried and tried and tried.

Alright. I get this is downtown Pleasanton and sandwiches are gonna be like 7 bucks(even though there are only $ 5 at Safeway which is only a few blocks away… but I digress) I would expect them to at least be a significant size… I mean, the HALF size at Rising Loafer is like the size of my head. But Amelias seriously gips you on the size for the price. I ordered a half sandwich and soup and the half sandwich looked like it was made from a small piece of wonderbread cut in half… and I ordered wheat. The soup was good… but again with the portions. I just cant justify spending 7 dollars and still being hungry! Overall, theres so many better places downtown so, I pass.

If there was a 6 star? This place would get it! Now I know I’m a bit biased, since I «work with» the owner(not at the deli), but since I had never met him until my visit to his deli(for a company dinner), I think I can be an un-biased reviewer. The place was nicely done up for a private party. Considering it’s a working deli when not being used for functions, yes that includes a view of the kitchen area, but that’s ok. The food? TOPNOTCH! It was a buffet style with«help» as the staff was available to serve. The drinks? Again, nicely done, considering the private function. Parking is tight around Amelia’s, although there is free downtown parking just a couple hundred feet down the street. Should you try Amelia’s? YES! GONOW! It’s worth a visit!

The owner has been in touch, and vows the turkey, salami, and bread will improve in short order. Thank you! I will go in and check it out, because I want local businesses to thrive! I promise to report back, and to the owner… this is how it is done, good for you!
