Came here on a whim to just get a snack. Got the Godzilla roll and thought is would be a larger specialty roll. Unfortunately it was super small and still costed $ 11.00. If you want overpriced mediocre sushi that won’t fill you up, come here

I’m surprised this place only has three stars. By far the best sushi spot in the area, alongside Momoyama in Concord. We’re pretty much regulars and we’ve never had a bad experience. Service is friendly, place is clean, food comes out quick, and they normally play Island music(my favorite). Sushi is extremely fresh and always tasty! Love this place.

Arrived during lunch hours as I was uncertain about what to eat. I can never say no to sushi, of course. Was greeted by one of the servers at the bar and was more than welcome to service me as I’m looking through the menu for to-go orders. Didn’t want anything heavy or too light; just a moderate snack. But hypocritically I did go for a special roll. Ha. The«Mango Lobster Roll» had caught my eye. Asked for spicy and that’s what I got! There was only one sushi chef but it wasn’t too busy. Just your typical Wednesday. As I received my order and brought it back to work, I wanted to devour my food right away.(Where was this appetite 5min ago!?) The size proportion of the roll is almost perfect. Just wish it had more inside ingredients. But the spicy sriracha with mango sauce & lobster was delightful! Not only am I a sushi snob but I also love good lobster! Put those together and you got yourself a personal appointment at the gym to burn off this goodness. I can’t exactly give my full opinion overall on a quick one stop visit. Maybe I will come back, maybe I won’t. Who knows. All that matters is I left on a positive note and that’s just great!

The tuna and salmon were extremely tough and had ton grissel and they were out of pork for this dish my husband wanted. What we didn’t eat we fed to our dog but I will not return. Told server and he said, yeah sorry… didn’t offer replacement.

Meh. The Nama Sushi in Walnut Creek is better. I had dinner here on Friday night and the service was extremely slow and unresponsive. The food didn’t seem up to the same standard as the Walnut Creek location. The noodles which I love in the Walnut Creek location tasted different and not as good here. Also some of our food was cold because it was sitting somewhere before the server remembered to bring it to us. I won’t be back to this location.

I just tried to have dinner here, remembering the place I used to go to in Walnut Creek; well it is far from it. The soup was not even warm, NOTOK !! Soup is a huge breaking point for me. The service was sub-par. Well, the service was«ok», when the staff was not high-fiving each other for some sports show on TV, they did ask how we were doing; but they did not pay much attention. Let’s move on to the tempura. From what I know, tempura should be light in color, puffy and flaky. This was a dark, thick– battered, soggy, heavy, flavorless mess. I hated it and after one bite did not even take the rest home. What happened to this place? I used to love the Udon soup and the fact that I used to get good Salmon(Sake) there, not the case anymore. I may go back to the Walnut Creek location, but never this one. I heard negative things about this location but did not believe it, I do now. Too bad…

We have been going to this particular Nama since they opened. The food has always been great and the staff has always been super attentive to us. Great family environment or even just for a date night.

Tonight we ate dinner here and cockroach appeared ON our table!!! We lost our appetite we couldn’t do anything and we asked waiter to cancel the menus that we left, but they said only 30 percent discounted price is only possible. We were so upset about their attitude because their attitude was like no BIG deal! We asked to cancel it again and they said no more next time. WHOWOULDWANNAGOAGAIN?

Came here to get some drinks since the other restaurants in the area were crowded. First thing I noticed was that there were a lot of people working for a not so busy Saturday night. Three servers that seemed lackadaisical and not providing much customer service. We sat at the sushi bar and saw people’s sushi orders sit for a few minutes before the server coming to deliver to the tables. Had the typical sake/beer which were average priced. The sushi chef is Korean so we asked him to make something different with a bit of Korean flare to go with drinking. He gave us a roll that was 6 pieces and reminded me of kimbap that you get at a Korean market but with more filling and different fish. But it was $ 16.95, I know it wasn’t on the menu and one of his creations but not worth the high price. This is just your average Korean owned sushi restaurant with other locations on Walnut Creek, Oakland and San Francisco. They all seem to have the same theme no matter the location which is poor service and decent sushi. The P.H. location is no different.

I went to a movie at the Century Pleasant Hill 16 Theater and then walked around the outside of the parking garage to get to Nama Sushi. I had driven by many times but was not sure how to get to it or where to park. There are 5 locations in the Bay Area according to their chopsticks. It sounds like the Walnut Creek location is the original. They did not have a lunch menu with bento boxes or anything. The bento boxes on the regular menu were expensive. I didn’t want to pay that much for lunch. There was a Curry and Ramen menu with reasonable prices. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Curry. The curry and the salad came out at the same time. It would have been nice to eat the salad before getting the entrée. The salad had salad greens and dressing with slimy cold edamame, sliced shoga, and tsukemono on the side. The curry plate was almost overflowing with sauce. The potatoes were crisp and baked in the oven rather than simmered in the sauce. The carrot and onion slices were large. The 3 shrimp tempura were freshly fried in panko batter. The portion was large for lunch and I took half of it home. The hot tea was complimentary. I probably won’t be back.
