Bang for your buck. I ordered the rib combo with spicy BBQ sauce. We were amazed by the amount of ribs, potato salad and beans. Now I know why they’re in the grocery stores.

Horrible! The meat on my sandwich tasted old and sour. It even smelled funny. I have eaten at kinders restaurant before so I was very disappointed in this food truck.

i tried the truck last night for the first time, i was on my way to my kids football practice so i was rushing, i didn’t notice till just now that they charged me twice for my one order, i ordered the rib combo, 4 small ribs that were good for the most part, potato salad with really no flavor and beans that were well as i expected just beans… i wouldnt be as disatisified with the whole deal if i wasn’t charged twice for an okay meal… now i have to find a way to contact someone for a refund. not really what i want to be doing…

Had their tequila lime sweet potato fries at Millbrae’s Off the Grid. The tequila lime flavor wasn’t very strong but you could definitely taste it for the first couple of bites. I really liked the sauce that came with the fries but the fries were too soggy.

Really delicious! And compared to the other offerings at the Alameda Off the Grid, really generous in their portions for their prices. S and I split a spicy tri tip sandwich and their sweet potato fries(the fancy kind, not just the regular side. but the one with the meat, cheese, and sauce.). The bread was soft and the meat was soft. The bbq sauce on the side was sweet and had a nice after-kick. I mean, it’s not the best tri-tip I’ve ever had, but from a truck? Pretty decent. The Fries. Now. THOSE were amazing. The thick sweet potato fries were absolutely delicious and there was ample meat and cheese buffing up those fries! I couldn’t really taste/find any of the onions that were supposed to be in them, but I wasn’t complaining. The sauce was delicious as well. Anyway, we were STARVING when we ordered these, but we could barely finish them. I’m such a fan.

I have to say i was expecting something a bit more flavorful. I think without the sauce it’s a bit bland. However good texture and bread. Add a but of salt and sauce and it gets much better! 3.5 stars

Off the Grid 5÷24÷13: Not a good value! The«half rack» of ribs was more like a ¼ rack with only 4 small bones for $ 10. The flavor of the ribs were OK at best. They were not very well seasoned and just were very bland, despite their claim of being«lime marinated». As for the sauce I can only imagine what it tastes like since it is only offered on the side(which I prefer), HOWEVER, my to go order was missing the side of sauce! On the positive side, the ribs were fall off the bone tender, moist, decent grilled texture and slight char. Despite this being true, they still lacked overall flavor. On a side note, the Louisiana hot link is a very small sausage with mushy texture and was rather bland except for the cayenne spice. I did not have it as a sandwich, it was just the link ala carte, no bun for $ 4. So maybe in the sandwich the hot link tastes better, but I doubt it since the mealy and mushy texture of the link cannot be hidden.

The ball tip sandwich was really tender and it was great with the bbq sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. It was unfortunate the bread wasn’t good. It was just soft and made the sandwich worse. I think it would have been better with the bread toasted. The tequila lime sweet potato fries needed to be a bit crispier. The tequila lime taste wasn’t too overbearing and went great with the creamy chipotle sauce. Great combo!

They came to the CUE(Computer-Using Educators) Conference and I was so lucky to make it fairly early in the line. I ordered the tequila lime ribs and the tequila lime fries. Both were delicious! The ribs were very flavorful and tender. Fries were good too and the sauce on the side was creamy and balanced out the slightly lime flavor. Very happy with service even though it was reallllyy slow. I felt bad for the people in the super long line. It hardly moved at all. They accept cards so that’s a huge bonus! I would have Kinder’s again!

I’ve eaten at this truck 3 times at the Oakland Museum Off the Grid. On 2 of 3 occassions I have been shorted a rib. It’s almost as if they have their staff trained to throw in a tiny burnt corner end rib as part of the 6-rib plate. I’ve attached a photo as evidence of this practice and because of this I will no longer support this food truck. Both times I returned to the truck and asked for a real 6th rib rather than a 3-inch piece of meatless bone. Their reaction was not one of «Oh I’m sorry for the mistake, allow me to fix it.» But instead the faces seemed to be more of «Oh man you caught us cheating our customers.» If you want to increase your profit margins without really pissing off and losing customers either advertise 5 ribs instead of 6 and charge the same price or raise the price of your already expensive food truck rates.

Tried them at OTG: Burlingame and ordered their signature sandwich, the Ball Tip. Unfortunately they were out of their tequila lime fries. Kinder’s Famous Ball Tip Steak Sandwich: Smoked cooked to perfection with Kinder’s Original Marinades & mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato & Kinder’s Mild BBQ Sauce. It was tender and juicy, though be sure to get extra sauce because they don’t put enough on it. I was really surprised because I didn’t think I’d like it. Definitely something to try.

They serve one bummer of a salad. The chicken was tasty, but it was sliced atop a bed of wilted, mushy, brown lettuce(ew) topped with a couple mealy tomato slices, some bagged shredded cheddar, and 3 cucumber slices. So…$ 8.50 for a chicken breast, since the rest was gross. This was my first time getting lunch from their truck, and I won’t be back.

We checked out the San Lorenzo Food Truck scene tonight. The other half wanted to try the tequila lime ribs so we ordered a full rack, potato salad and a water and a soda. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any diet soda so we got a refund for that. The potato salad was okay but nothing special. The ribs were meaty, tender and flavorful. They don’t put the sauce on the ribs but serve it on the side, so we got both the mild and the spicy. The mild was sweet and vinegary. The spicy may have had some jalapeño liquid in it. Both were good. Just depends on what you’re in the mood for. Neither of us noticed the tequila lime in the ribs though.

First time trying Kinders today Vallejo and Front. I open the lid for my chicken salad, and there is a hair on it, a long black hair! its not on the food but on the container that’s inside with the food! Still this was disgusting… I think, never going here again!!! Wear hairnets people!!! What a waste of money!!! That’s $ 8.50 literally down the garbage. Avocados were brown, and the salad looked very plain. ever hear of seasoning? Regardless, this is gross and I’m demanding back my money from this truck!

I definitely have to try Kinder’s again. They very unfortunately ran out of ribs by the time I came around to the truck so I settled on just getting a side of tequila lime fries. The fries are shoestring style which I like… lots more flavor, less potato starchiness. The tequila/lime was subtle and not overbearing, but I thought it could totally be kicked up a notch. The fries themselves are coated with some kind of cajun spice. For $ 3, it was totally worth it. The fries were very fresh and piping hot when I received my order. However, they don’t have much of a shelf life. Within 10 minutes, the fries were already limp but the flavor was still good. So eat them fast!

Who doesn’t love food trucks right in front of their office building during lunch? Decided to try it out and was pleasantly surprised. Tried their BBQ chicken salad, which was perfectly grilled and tender. While I waited for my food, they offered me a free order of their tequila lime fries. So good! Especially with their dipping sauce. Will definitely be back next time they’re nearby.

This review was about the customer service rather than food. I was at the soft launch for OtG Hayward, and the first line I went to was for Kinder’s because it smelled so good! Sadly, when I got near to the front, I found out they sold out of sandwiches. When I was second in line, they sold out of the ribs as well. I stayed in line because the tequila lime fries sounded so good. The people in front of me left, so that made me first in line. However no one was there to open the window to take my order. I stood there for several minutes because I saw that they seemed overwhelmed from having to give refunds to people that paid for food they couldn’t give. I’m sure they weren’t expecting so many people at the soft launch. Someone who looked like the boss of the truck came out to apologize for running out of food, and more food was coming. They would also give free fries, which they were cooking, to the people who waited in line for so long. I was pleasantly surprised because that’s what I wanted to try anyway. After several more minutes, the guy came out with two cups of fries. My sister turned to receive one, but he completely passed over us to give it to the two groups of people behind us. We were first! I don’t understand. Maybe because the woman behind us was Asian, he thought we were together? Rude. Then he came out again to make announcement that he was taking orders for the salads and fries, but started to walk to the back of the line. The lady behind me had to tell out to him to ask for an order of French fries. I was about to put down my order, but was so put off when e tried to pass me the ticket order for the lady behind me to pass to the window, I suddenly lost my appetite for Kinder’s. Very disappointing because I was looking forward to tasting the food, but I doubt I will ever try again.

Kinder’s Food Truck had one of the longer lines at OTG’s Hayward soft opening. by 7ish, most of the sammies were sold out. locale: OTG: hayward(8⁄7) menu: sandwiches(kinder’s ball tip, grilled chicken, louisiana link sausage), tequilla lime ribs, salads, sides. eats: sammie(8) combo(11) comes with bbq beans and potato salad –was thinking about a sammie but they sold out before i got to the window. footnotes: –kinder does a good job on q. usually store locations have a deal(free drink,) –if u can’t wait, gotta have it, you can get it now(for $$)
