Has anyone gotten food poisoning from this place?! Gave the most wretched food poisoning EVER!

Food is a 4/5, customer service is a 1⁄5. Therefore I’ll give them the benefit of the do it and average it out to a 3 star. The lemon soup is pretty good.

The food was as about the best for a fast food place. Not authentic by any means but still tasty. The service was also very good. There was a mistake with what we ordered which might have been our fault to be honest. He let us have the mistake and went and got the correct one with no hesitation.

You don’t get remotely what you pay for. Check out my pics compared to an egg. Keep walking and head down to Gotta Eatta Pita. Better falafel and pitas. You looking for real Greek food head down to my buds’ restaurant in Walnut Creek called OPA.

Not as good as the food from Greece, but good enough to make more than one return visit. A little pricey, but for the most part this place curbs the desire to eat junkier food.

I’ve eaten at Daphne’s before, at a different location, and tasted better. This time when I went I was not very satisfied with our order. Any time I have Greek food I typically order falafel, tzatziki sauce, and gyro. My family and I shared a few plates including all these familiar tastes and we were all disappointed. The falafel was dry and the tzatziki sauce tasted and had the consistency of sour cream. The gyro meat wasn’t too bad, but the salad that came on the side had lettuce that maybe wasn’t washed properly(dirt/soil tasting). Their french fries were good, not overly salty or oily. There are a good amount of restaurants in this shopping plaza for you to choose another place for lunch/dinner.

Stopped in here for a ‘quick’ bite… It’s not traditional greek, but its still yummy! We had the strawberry salad, and the gyro. The pita that came with the salad was delicious, the salad itself was yummy, it came with the exact right proportion of everything. Perfect amount of cheese, strawberry, chicken, nuts, lettuce and dressing. The Gyro was a little short on meat, but well seasoned. The tzatiki that came with the Gyro was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. I’d really probably give them 4 stars, because the food was good enough that I’d have an internal debate over going here or visiting the Chipotle across the street(and anything that tempts me away from Chipotle is worth 4 stars). However, unlike Chipotle, this place was slow, slow, slow… We placed a to go order. With two people in line in front of us, it took almost ten minutes to place our order, and then we waited 25 minutes to get the food. 25 minutes at 1:00PM, on a Thursday afternoon, to get a salad and a gyro? for the 35 minutes we spent waiting at Daphne’s we could have ordered our Chipotle and eaten it there and still made it to our appointment on time. That being said, if you aren’t in a hurry, this place is cheap, and has good food that at least feels healthy for you… definitely wort a visit! Oh Unilocal,oh Unilocal, when will you let me give a 3.5 star review… because this restaurant fits right between 3 and 4 stars!

Stoped by for lunch and I tried the New grilled chicken and strawberry salad… It was way bigger than I thought and it was very filling though at 8 bucks it should have delivered. Would I try it again? Yes, though the menu seems to change. Location was clean and bright with fountain drinks and serve your self tea dispensers too. Men’s bathroom not the cleanest. Did not check out the women’s

Maybe it’s because I’m not as naïve a foodie as once I was, but Daphne’s doesn’t impress me much anymore. When this location first opened, I raved! Killer gyros, yummy tzatziki, fresh salad, flavorful rice! What I know is that, as I should have known before, Daphne’s is fast food Mediterranean, and their price increases plus a random California spin(what surfboards and avocadoes have to with Greek food is forever lost on me) don’t help them at all. Considering the place was empty at lunchtime on the weekend, it seems the word is out that Daphne’s gleam is fading. I ordered their combo plate with gyro meat, falafels, Greek salad and rice pilaf. The menu DID say it came with tzatziki and DIDN’T say it came with pita — my plate arrived with pita and no tzatziki. Boo. I asked for the tzatziki politely and was met with disgruntle. Is it really that hard to scoop pre-made sauce into a little cup? I’m not asking for a smile, just spare me the eye rolling and mopefest. The meat, salad and rice were all fine — lackluster but edible. The true crime against humanity is what they dare to call falafel. See my picture — falafel coins so obviously not freshly made, dry and crumbly like a petrified turd, and equally as tasty. Once you’ve had a truly well made falafel, seasoned to perfection and deep fried a crispy golden brown, absolutely nothing else will do. This is TRULY a shameful offering. One upside: I had a mishap with my drink and dumped it all over the floor shortly after setting it on our table, no real idea why — probably the general slipperiness of hands from the rain pouring outside. I grabbed a stack of napkins to help tidy it up and was quickly joined by an employee who told me not to worry about it and mopped up my mess. Embarassing stuff, but at least this likely common mishap was handled with professionalism and courtesy. What were once tasty offerings in the Crescent shopping center are becoming more lackluster with age — Pasta Pomodoro is another nearby fallen comrade that I have no plan to return to. In the area, stick with Jacks, Zacharys, Five Guys, Chipotle, etc. If you must have Greek though, I highly recommend avoiding this Daphne’s — high prices for processed food is California Greek disappointment, no matter what.

I have been to this place twice an both tries have been great! I ordered the steak/chicken kabob plate on each occasion and each time it has been delicious. Since one of my stores is in this shopping center it works out for a quick lunch. Why this place only has received 3 stars is beyond me, great service, good food and decent atmosphere is really all you need for lunch.

Why exactly did you have to go to the California Greek thing? The first time I came here it was just Daphne’s Greek food. It seems with the addition of the word California, the quality went down. I ordered the original gyro pita sandwich, with fries and Greek salad. The food arrived very quick, which is always nice. Nice big plate full of what look like tasty options. The fries ended up tasting like stale McDonalds fries. But the Greek salad was pretty good. The gyro sandwich was good. Even though it was a little dry, once you put some tzatziki sauce on it, right as rain. About the tzatziki sauce itself, well it wasn’t like any I have ever tried. It was incredibly thick, almost like mayonnaise. Very hard to put onto anything because of this, but it tasted pretty good. I tried one of Terri’s «falafels». I put it in quotes, because it tasted less like an actual falafel, and more like a very dried out puck of mush. Sorry to be harsh, but this was literally the worst falafel I have ever had. I really don’t like the surfing everywhere. The pictures, on the T.V. If I want this kind of stuff i would go to a taco shack on the beach, or something of the sort. It does not belong in a Greek restaurant at all. The girl behind the counter was very nice. Even when we accidentally spilled our water, she promptly helped us clean it up, and even managed to do it with a smile. Change the surfing décor. Improve some of your food items, and then I’ll will possibly come back.

I am never disappointed when I eat here. The chicken is cooked so well, and the salad dressing is worth eating a salad all by itself. My only complaint are the prices and lack of lunch specials. They had them before, but did away with them a few years ago. Please bring the lunch combos back so us starving students can eat more then just a pita by itself.

Oh my gosh I can’t believe I didn’t come here until just now! I came in today because I was looking for lunch before work and oh my gosh my taste buds are happy campers! I got the Cali bowl or something like that and I was so fresh and just what I was hoping for! It had some fun flavors and I really enjoyed it. Also, they were so FAST! And really nice. I had never eaten Greek style food before so I had a few questions and the person who helped me was very helpful and kind. Great food and it’s not super expensive! I am going to come here more often! Yum!

I had the Cali-Greek bowl & it was fantastic. My husband was really impressed with his gyros. The Cali-Greek bowl(get it with rice pilau, so good!) was spicy, good and I got it with excellent falafels, jalapeño bacon(so it’s spicy!), guacamole, chipotle! Heavenly. I wish we had a Daphne’s closer to us because this was delicious!

Meh. I was expecting a little more. The burger is $ 6 and is pretty small, and doesn’t even come with fries or anything. It was good though. Just expensive…

It’s a little hard for me to figure out this chain as it’s sort of fast food yet the quality and taste is better than fast food and I guess it’s priced sort of in between as well. Nonetheless, I enjoy their gyro, hummus, and even their pizza.

I decided to give Daphne’s another try. The menu caught my dad’s attention, so I took him out to a late lunch. He had the salmon entrée and loved it. It comes with pita bread and two side dishes. I ordered the vegetarian combo plate: falafel, dolmas, spanakopita, hummus, pita bread, and two sides. I chose tabouli and salad. The new manager seemed really friendly, and the quality of food seems to have gone up. I’m a fan again.

TL;DR: Pretty good Pseudo Greek food, decent service, clean establishment. Had a meal here Sunday after a nice long walk, and definitely hit the spot. I did muse that since I was having a gyro(Salad in bread w/meat) with a side salad and hummus(w/pita bread for dipping) that essentially I was just getting bread and salad served different ways with slightly different toppings. The food was light and fresh, well seasoned and tasty. Didn’t weigh me down or anything and was pleasantly full but not overly so. The place was clean(tables, floor, etc, also the bathroom), pleasantly so, even. Wasn’t super busy that day, so maybe that was a factor, but it stuck out enough that I noticed. I wouldn’t say that I’m a germaphobe, but when it comes to some where I eat, a restaurant can never been too clean. We’ll be back here for sure.

We were staying at the Marriott across the street and wanted a quick bite to eat for lunch. My sister is super picky so after walking around the shopping center, we finally ended up here. I got the chicken pita because it was almost half the calories as the traditional gyro. I like how they put the calories next to everything, perfect for someone who’s trying to calorie count/watch what they eat. My sister got 2 kabobs and my Dad got the flatbread pizza. I thought the seating arrangement was pretty weird. 99% of the seating was for 2. I guess you can push together the tables but that’s kind of a hassle. Maybe it’s not really meant for families and larger groups? Don’t see why not though. Anyway, the food came out relatively quickly. The chicken pita was delicious! The pizza looked disappointing and nothing special. My sister liked the kabobs though. I think it really depends on what you get if you have a good experience or not because the pita is pretty reasonably priced while what you pay for the pizza is not. I would get the chicken pita again for sure if I were ever to end up at a Daphne’s again, it was delicious and less than 400 calories!

Been here a couple time’s because I work nearby. Always been a good experience, never too shabby. First time I came here, I ordered their pita burger with fries. I thought it was weird that a Greek place was serving burger’s and fries. Good amount of fries though and the burger was decent sized so I can’t complain much, a better alternative than Five Guys’ greasy burgers. I came here again the other night with my boyfriend and I ordered their kid’s meal with a gyro and hummus. Come’s with 1 gyro with 2 pieces of pita bread and a good amount of hummus. The gyro was the perfect size to fill me up, the meat was kind of dry though. I also ordered their baklava which was really small, not worth $ 1.50. Customer service has always been okay, never a bad experience.
