Delicious as always… thank you Casper’s! And to the employee working on her birthday… Happy bday !!!

This place was amazing. I was traveling through the area on business… looking for a place to eat lunch. I saw the line inside and thought it had to be good! The people were very nice and the hot dogs were amazing. The chili cheese dog was so good… I could have eaten 3 of them. I haven’t had this good of a hot dog in such a long time. Please go if you are in the area… so worth it!!!

The Pleasant Hill location is pretty sweet for a Casper’s. The old ladies are nice, the spot is close to a «downtown,» and it is clean. I don’t think I have ever had a bad experience, unlike the«[K]aspers»… you know the one with the K ;) Anyways, love the polish cheese dogs. Heard they have good hot links as well. The chili dog is a classic. May not be the best hot dog I have ever had, but certainly up there, and the best in the East Bay.

Hubby and I have been here tons of times. He always gets a chili cheese dog and I always get a cheese dog. All-beef hot dogs!!! I don’t know if Casper’s has always had these and we just never noticed or if it’s a new addition to the menu but they are delicious! It’s funny because literally the last time we were on our way there I mentioned in the car that I wished they had all-beef hot dogs and we get there and surprise! They do! It was meant to be. :) The ladies here are always really friendly and the prices are cheap.

OHMOMMA! I LOVECASPERS! I grew up here and I was back visiting some friends. All I wanted to do was eat lunch at Casper’s! Seriously, a guilty pleasure. I mean you are not supposed to even admit you like hot dogs, let alone frequent a business that pretty much only serves hot dogs! Casper’s has not changed in 30+ years! I think there is an over 65 age requirement to even work here(the lady’s looked exactly the same). The interior is neat and clean and un-changed. I think they just started to accept credit cards, used to be only cash. I get a cheese dog, everything but tomatoes and catsup. Who in their right mind puts catsup on a dog? UGH There is something about using steam to cook these little wonders(that are not so little), and the buns are steamed too. Ahh Heaven.

Casper’s offers some of the best hot dogs around. It’s the real deal for hot dog aficionados! They have been around for decades and have provided consistent food throughout! The hot dogs are fresh & tasty and the topping(s)/condiments are awesome. They steam the buns(adds to the flavor), they offer foot long dogs(AND to the Unilocaler who claimed bun was too short… Yes they’re supposed to be that way!) and the tomato & onion toppings are cut fresh to order/& throughout the day. Fresh Fresh Fresh! My family and I have frequented the PH location forever, it seems, and I have been to the Walnut Creek location too many times to count. They used to have a Concord location way back when but after a recent search it seems to be closed, which is too bad for locals nearby(*yelpers please msg me if this location has moved*). While we admit that the décor may seem outdated to some, we think its endearing and adds atmosphere/character. They keep prices down by focusing on the food not some flashy glitz. It is definitely an old-school diner-style place that employ’s «older» or «eccentric» workers at times. But it adds to the charm of the place. For those of us who’ve eaten here for years, we get it. They put out a limited menu, they do it as fast as they can, and YES these locations are very busy and if the ladies/guys like to talk to the customers, so be it! The product is worth the wait. It’s open long hours and for a person who likes an option other than a fast food drive-thru, it’s awesome. We love the classic Casper Dog, but also order the Cheese dogs, the double dogs and the classic chili cheese dogs. Our orders have always been handled with care, made specifically to what we ordered and the worker never ever showed any type of attitude. A couple times they’ve even wrapped up a few broken hot dogs(no charge too) for our own«Hot Dog» Murphy! Thanks for that! :-) The place is always kept clean and neat. There is a private parking lot, and at peak times it fills up, but there is also un-metered street parking.

There hot-dogs are pretty good but every time I go there I have to stand in this long line because the women who work there are soooo slow! If you’re in no hurry then I guess the wait doesn’t matter, but I go there on my lunch hour and it’s crazy in there. Plus parking is bad as well.

To me a hot dog is a hot dog is a hot dog. A little pricey for basically being a hot dog stand, but this is definitely better than any fast food hot dog I’ve had.

Natural casing junkies rejoice! True snap appeal! Make sure to have your kraut nuked beforehand so it’s a little softer and more mellow…

Nothing to special about this place. It’s the same old hot dog. The staff is good and efficient, but I did see one negative thing. While in line a coworker came in carrying a bucket of ice. No big deal except that he used his hands to get some of the ice out. As a nurse I’m screaming GERMS. .yucky

I’ve been coming here for years. One of my favorite lunch spots. The long line out the door around noon every day proves how good this place is. They always have fresh ingredients and the staff is always friendly. They are a bunch of old ladies and sometime one young person. Makes me feel like my grandma made the hot dogs! Haha. Definitely recommend!

Great place. Solid dogs. I usually get a dog with mustard and onions, being it home and add my own chilli a friend brought me from Cleaveland. One that runs out, I’ll switch to Casper’s chili dogs. The restaurant is always clean and everyone is always friendly.

It is good. Got the chili dog and orange shake. Chili dog was skimpy on the cheese. Shake was very runny. No thickness at all. If I had to choose I think sacs is better, but this wasn’t bad.

I have ben going here for 45 years. This was where I ate my first hotdog as a child. This place is so on the money… I love the dogs, the service is great and the crowds are friendly. 65 years in business… you have to be doing something right! Cheers Casper’s

Cannot go wrong with a Casper’s hot dog. The staff and quick, which is greatly appreciated when super hungry. My personal favorite is the cheese dog with everything on it. I am a fan of the shredded cheese. Also, I am fan of the sauerkraut dog BUT if you never had it there will be A LOT of it on the hot dog. Just an FYI.

Service with a smile does not exist here. Hence the minus-star. But, Caspers. Solid. Every time. Good stuff. Chili cheese dog with a cheese dog. If someone says that is too much food, you need to de-friend them, because you don’t need that negativity holding you back.

Came here for lunch today. Prices are good, but Sac’s in Vallejo is better… They were skimpy with the cheese here lol. Good dogs, though, but the bun was slightly too small, and like I said, I wish there was a lot more cheese. One woman was making the dogs, another getting the drinks, and another at the register. The woman making the dogs got a little confused with the customers in front of us, and couldn’t remember who wanted what. She might be new?

I’ve heard a ton of positive feedback about Casper’s and how they have«the best hot dogs.» well here’s the thing; to me a hot dog is a hot dog. I don’t really care for hot dogs, but I figured«what the heck, I’m here, I’ve heard good things, I’ll try it.» I can tell you the hot dog I had was beef. It was tasty, and the bun was good. If you like hot dogs I bet you’ll love these. Best hot dog I’ve ever had? I’m not sure. It definitely tasted like a hot dog. The people that made my food were super friendly so that’s a bonus. I took my food to go, and shortly after taking a few bites, I decided to put my corn chips on it and have it that way. Yum? Sure. Hot dogs.
