Our local newspaper the Contra Costa Times had a ad for this store. The ad stated it was 4.99−7.49 to replace watch batteries. Me and my dad went in so he could replace his backup watch battery and my assorted number of watches that were dead. We entered the store and gave a younger man our watches.(it was freaky giving him a 400 $ watch honestly) but we walked around the store looking at the fun and overpriced light bulbs with a 28 year lifespan. It was none more than 10 minutes and he was done and my watches were ticking again. The guy seemed kinda grumpy(I would be too if I worked there) but none the less it was easy, cheap, and fast. Will return again for watch batteries.

I purchased some outdoor bulbs for approximately $ 49.00 at your Pleasant Hill store. At the time, I purchased the lights a young man who did not know the merchandise helped me(he had to keep asking someone else). When I told him I wasn’t sure about them, he told me to keep my receipt and I could return them. Feeling that the best way to make sure I wanted the look, I bought them to take them home and check. This was a cash purchase, not credit. I am a retired person, and leave town frequently. My return date with the items was one day past thir policy, which I feel should have been mentioned, given my reluctance to purchase… but given the inexperienced individual that helped me, I am not surprised he did not mention it. I did not see this policy prominently posted in the store, so I was very surprised and annoyed the day I returned and dealt with the same young man who turned me over to a manager, to tell me I was to late for a refund. He said I had two options, I could hold my marked receipt in a safe place and return another day for a purchase, or hold receipt and items and return them another time to return them. I told him this sounded like wishful thinking that I would never return, and legalized theft for items I did not want. When I acted annoyed this manager who had taken over(Mr. Ryan Kenney) became aggressive and rude. When I told him I would be complaining, he then said he would not allow the return at all, and I would not receive any option but to keep it and leave. I was really mad and told him, «so if I say I won’t complain, I can have my credit?» He then said yes and let me pick out some totally useless items that I purchased so I would not lose the amount I spent. I am not use to being forced to buy from a business. I will not be returning any time soon.

I just spotted this place and went in for look. I have batteries that need to be recycled — they take them. I have hand tools with dead batteries — they rebuild them and they sale replacements. The store is clean, well lit and prices are clearly marked on the items I was looking at. Sales person acknowledged me immediately(Tom Schultz) according to the business card he gave me. Very good first impression. I will be returning to drop off old batteries and have a few repaired with new battery packs.
