I can’t say enough about how awesome Teresa is. Gordon’s is a staple of the Playa community. Great selection and amazing staff.

I love this little market! We get our 5 gallon water bottles refilled with alkaline water and the owner is very helpful with the process

Cute little market with parking. We tried the Phở with waygu beef and it was very good. My hubby had the banh mi sandwich with Mary’s chicken. I didn’t try it but he liked it.

I usually support small business’ especially when they have the services from the company I work for. We decided to give it a try and have lunch in the little eatery in the back of the store and the Blonde lady in the front was taking order like she should but I noticed when I gave her my bank card she asked me for my I.D. I noticed before me customers using there bank card(Same Bank that I have) and neither one of them was asked for there I.D. Even after I sat there and noticed no one else getting carded. The food tasted ok. The Phở and the Chicken Plate I got all tasted like fish. As we left she seen us made eye contact and didn’t bother to thank us at all. I’m not sure if I should call it discrimination or not but that what I and my co-worker noticed. I will not be coming back at all unless its work related. date September 30 from 12−1pm

Great place! Just moved here and the lady at the counter was extra friendly and made me feel like this is my new neighborhood market. They have all your basic essentials — just check expiration dates on anything perishable. Will be back again to try out the deli!

Perfect neighborhood store — Theresa is friendly and stocks everything from batteries to flip flops to kombucha. Phorage/ASAP(phở and sandwiches) is now located in the back section and the food is great!

Haha I love this place… and yeah alkaline water is magic. As are sandwiches. Playa is super cute, too. So it’s still well worth the trip if you’re not nearby.

A.K.A. The Alka Water Store. Seriously, the Gordon’s sign is gone and the sign outside reads: ALKA Water. My friends who visit just call it the Alka Water store, and were a little surprised they also sell groceries and have a deli in the back. The deli is great, but a little pricey, the lady who owns the store is nice and more than happy to explain what Alka water is, complete with PH testing of other bottled water brands. Exciting!

New catering crew in the Deli is tops!!! I’ve loved every sando I’ve tried here and would highly recommend to anyone around PDR, Marina or El Segundo contemplating lunch! Unfortunately not so well marketed currently but the product is delicious. Currently a well kept secret, fast w no lines. Also the market has been completely redone, has a solid craft beer selection and an alkaline water factory if that’s your bag…

I shop here at Gordon’s all the time, mostly because they stock organic milk and veg, and their eggs and fruit have always been good. They are not cheap, but the quality is more important to me than a coin saved. They even had Almond milk one time, I was shocked. That’s a whole foods kind of item.

This market is nestled in the heart of Playa Vista along with Outlaw and Shack etc. Playa Vista itself is hard place to find if you don’t live around the place but it is a quiet and safe neighborhood that I like to visit once in a while. The market is just 5 minutes away from the beach itself and the owners are these two Asian couple and their son. The lady is so sweet and tries to help you as much as possible. The market has variety of stuffs considering it is a small market, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I like to support small, local owned shops, so I come here for lunch every now and then. If you walk to the back of the store, there’s a kitchen where the cook makes some fresh, amazing food every day. They tend to have chili, fried chicken, chicken pot roast and beef pot roast. I’d suggest the beef pot roast, which is tender and tasty. You can tell it’s been stewing all morning. With that you can also get sides, which varies from rice, vegetables and mac and cheese. Portion size is huge, and you could probably split it into two meals. You can get all of this for a good value of $ 6.99. With that, I was set to give this place 4 stars. However, recently I decided I didn’t want to have such a heavy lunch and went with a sandwich. A small, what looked to be, 8-inch french roll with just some salami, cheese, ice berg lettuce and tomatoes. I grabbed a small bag of chips on my way to the register and I got wrung up. $ 9.16… $ 9.16!!! I looked down quick to see if he had accidentally charged me for a pack of gum or something, but nope. Have you ever had that sinking feeling inside when you realized you no longer want something because it’s grossly over priced, but you’re too polite to basically tell them«I don’t want this anymore. Trash it.» Maybe it’s my fault for not asking how much the sandwich and chips were before hand, but most places I frequent tend to be fairly priced, and I don’t have to do defensive shopping. I took it back to my office and ate my meal. The sandwich tasted no better than something I could have put together myself if I bought some rolls and cold cuts from Ralphs. What’s worse than eating a dull meal? Eating an over priced dull meal. To make matters worse, I was still hungry afterwards. My suggestion, stick to their hot food. The sandwiches just aren’t worth it.

Awesome little store, very sweet owners. A «personal» 5 stars to this great little market. I say«personal» because it might not meet the needs of the more refined shoppers, but for me and many of my neighbors Gordon’s is the ultimate in convenience and necessity. After an agonizing, infuriating drive home on the 405, and just before turning the corner to my house, I know I’m gonna need one of three things… beer… ben and jerrys… or(shhh) toilet paper. Gordon’s is that last stop, that last hope to pickup the basic necessities. And Gordon’s has the essentials for everyone… Bicyclists — get your energy on — fruit, health bars and juices? Beach-goers — sunscreen, charcoal lighter and paper plates? Kitchen Freaks — don’t tell me you forgot the pasta or fresh garlic?! Answer: Gordon’s Also, great little deli for sandwiches and daily specials like stuffed porkchops! NOTE: Playa Del Rey is full of nice, easy going people. But non the less we still have our share of a-holes. Occasionally I’ve seen some real jerks mistreating the owners, even trying to run scams on them. This really pisses me off! The family running this market is super nice and they work hard, so they deserve some kudos and respect.

Gordon’s is the best corner market a girl could ask for. They have pretty much every essential you need when you are in a pinch. I must go there at least 2 – 3 times a week when I have forgotten an ingredient in some crazy recipe I am trying to make. They have fresh produce, too! The owners are friendly and always have a smile! Go there, you’ll like it!

i remember the first night i went to gordon’s market. i sat in traffic for an hour and a half on my commute home. i’m sorry, but it should not take 90 minutes to travel 8 miles. tired, annoyed and frustrated, i ransacked my kitchen but could not find a single bottle of wine. really? what’s that all about. there was no way i was going to get back in my car after that horrible drive so i was like fine, i’ll walk somewhere. i walked out my door and headed up culver and gordon’s was the first store i came across. so there’s a star for the convenience factor. there was a cute older asian couple working the counter. the store reminded me of the neighborhood markets in korea. there’s literally everything you could possibly want jammed in the store. it’s not the tidiest place, but it’ll do in a pinch. a few days ago i got a call from my roommate, and it went something like this: *ring ring* *ring ring*(actually, my phone doesn’t ring, it plays big pimpin, but you get the picture) elise: jess! there’s no soy sauce! i want to eat my gyoza but we’re out of soy sauce! me: go to gordon’s i got home a few minutes later to find my roommate, a steaming plate of gyoza and yes, soy sauce. so while it’s not exactly where i’d go to buy all my groceries, 4 stars for being convenient, having sweet owners, and of course, soy sauce.
