Sonny’s BBQ

I had the all u can eat chicken on sunday night. It was the special for that day and my wife had the pork two ways, pulled and sliced. Both dishes were on special for 9.99. She had sweet potatoes and green beans and a corn muffin. I had bbq beans and french fries and garlic bread. All the food was brought out HOT and FRESH and MOIST and JUICY. Sonny’s did not disappoint and renewed my faith in the quality of the bbq. The salad bar looked fresh although we didn’t have it this time. Chris was our server and he made sure our drinks were filled and my chicked was ordered so I wouldn’t run out. We love sonny’s four sauces and they definitely compliment the meal. The restaurant was clean. The food was great and service was great. We will be back!!!

We decided to try Sonnys again. Things went better this time. We were greeted right away. Of course like always, there was plenty of open booths, but they crowded us right next to other people. I told her we were moving down a couple booths and we went and sat there. Waitress was there quickly and we had drinks in no time. We ordered our meals and it came out within a reasonable time frame. Nothing was hot though, just a little warmer than room temp. The corn on cob side looked and smelled awful. Baked potato was only warm. In the past the food was hot. Not this visit. Meats were just warm also. Had to ask for more toast. The portions got smaller. In past we always had too much to eat. This time not enough. Baked potatoes were small. Not as much meat as previously. The waitress seemed to actually care and did her best to make our visit enjoyable.
This time around I would say the service was excellent but the food was mediocre. And the prices are higher for less food now.

So this was our first time here. I am not a picky person but this is a different story. First off, when we got there the dining room was NOT full though we ended up waiting about ten minutes to be seated. Next, we had about three different servers come and ask us if we were being helped. After finally being helped (15 mins later) give it another 15 mis for our drinks to arrive and to get our orders. Two times while we waited, the server came and said once that they were out of brisket and then the second time they said they were out of sliced pork. ONE HOUR later our food comes and it was COLD! Never did they come and ask us for refills until we were leaving. After talking to the manager when we went to pay, they did cut our bill in half. That’s the only reason they get one star, to be honest. Unfortunately for them, we will not be going back. The service and staff needs major improvement!

Second time we’ve been to this Sonny’s location. Everyone is very friendly and the food is good. Well, most of it. I ordered the Redneck Eggrolls. Please learn from my mistake. Stay as far away from this monstrosity as possible. According to the menu it’s pulled pork, cole slaw and pepper jack cheese in egg roll wrapper and lightly deep fried. They must have just showed the cheese to the rest of the meal because it darned sure wasn’t in there. And they over fried it where the wrapper was so hard and broke off in pieces. Plus the grease just dripped off of it. My stomach hasn’t been right since I ate it. Plus the picture in the menu looked like it was cut and pasted from the Chili’s menu. What I got looked NOTHING like the picture.
Please, Sonny, stick with what you know. The BBQ meat, sides and salad were wonderful as always.

The one day I have a cheat day. the one time I try this place out. I drive all the way home, put my stuff in the oven get ready for bed and all. Just to open my order and no RIBS!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME after I waited in line for 20min behind someone who’s whole order was clearly wrong. something told me the girl at the window was not checking orders and just passing them out the window. Im so mad right now. Then I call and she says I can send you a coupon for 10 $ off your next order. Next Order? I’m not coming back. First order of customer service if you are working the window you are the last person to check orders. They always mess up orders, seems like it from these reviews, someone need to read these reviews and train these window people better. I worked in fast food for years. they are doing it all wrong. GGGRrrrrrrrrr

Good enough to slap your momma!
Had a drive thru craving for pulled pork. Sonny’s did not disappoint! Their pulled pork just the right amount of sweet and savory and is moist without sauce. Cooked to perfection.
Mac n cheese, corn bread, and broccoli were also above par. Hope they add potato salad to the menu!

The service SUCKED! The 1^st table was sticky and filthy! So we sat at the next table. We had to constantly ask for our service and TWICE an to ask them to clear the table, the second time half the garbage fell off the table and on to floor. Every Sunday at ALL the Sonny’s across the U.S. Have all you u can eat chicken for $ 9.95 EXCEPT FOR THIS LOCATION!!! They charged MORE THEN REGULAR price of other locations $ 12.50 on SUNDAY for Ayce Chicken! We won’t be back there, my husband told me to mark in the atlas/​next exit book (a book for travelers) NEVER TO EAT THERE AGAIN!!! That tells you how much be hated the place, he would rather eat at the Waffle House (NEVER HAVE NEVER WILL) then that sonny’s. We would give this dive a negative if we could

I rate my second review on this Sonny’s BBQ location a 3 star due cause our order was messed up. The server we had was very new and didn’t know what he was doing as a waiter. I understand he was learning still but some what could have offered to help him. We ordered the feast for four with Ribs, corn, brisket, pork. The Ribs was very burnt and dried out tasted aweful. Corn was over cooked and burnt.
The drink refills was really fast that is all I can say about this second review. I really wish that someone who worked with the server who waited on us could have went around ask the customers how was the food like some other restaurants do.
If we had a choice to come back to this location we will have to think about it cause the food wasn’t that great. Seems like the service lacks knowing how to cook real delicious BBQ trust me I should know what I am talking about I grew up around BBQ and this BBQ we had wasn’t it.

Bought food Togo, my hunny and I both got pork (he had sliced pork and me chopped pork). Pork was very dry but with some BBQ sauce was edible.

1^st time eating at Sonny’s.
I’m hoping that there are other Sonny’s places that are a step above this one. As of right now, I’m not tempted to ever try it again.

Most of the Sonny’s BBQ restaurants offer exceptional service and tasty hot BBQ but for some reason this location consistently falls short on service and food quality. My only experiences (2 and never again) were at the drive up window. Extremely slow — always. My last visit (and the emphasis is on last) was for a rib dinner and I specified the center cut of the rack. Naturally there was not any communication between the order taker and the kitchen or the kitchen just doesn’t care which could easily be the case. The ribs had more grease than the BP oil spill. The bread was soggy and actually had impressions of someone’s fingers where they had picked it up — gross. Someone from corporate needs to do a surprise visit before the Sonny’s brand is completely ruined.

We had the pulled pork sandwiches and sweet tea. Both we great. Nice variety of sauces… if you want BBQ, it’s hard to go wrong here.
