I love Fred’s! The buffet does not give you that creepy grimy buffet feeling AT ALL. All he food is cooked and served in pots and casserole dishes like you’d use at home. Small batches rotate often. All your southern favorites from fried chicken, grits, cornbread, Mac n cheese… Just to name a few. The food is hot, fresh, and damn good. You will not leave disappointed or hungry.

Best southern BBQ I’ve tried here in Florida! You can’t beat the closest to having a home cooked meal while eating out.

Friendly and efficient staff, and fantastic food selection on their buffet. My husband and I enjoy breakfast there once a week.

Best most consistent place in Plant City. The staff is always friendly, and the food is always great.
For me it’s the veggies. The okra and pole beans are the best I’ve ever had.
The one plate special is a generous offer and more than fills me.

Good food but i am very uncomfortable sitting so close to other tables. To fit as many as they can in restaurant the tables barely have enoungh room to get through. Food is typical home cooked buffet food. Usually always wait.

Amazing!!! Their breakfast blt is awesome! Buffet is great as well! Service is always fantastic and food is spot on. If you are getting the buffet don’t miss out on the fried green tomatoes and macaroni and cheese.

Freds is amazing. I love the at home country feel of this buffet. The food is always delicious! The staff has always been wonderful! Highly recommend the sweet potato casserole and pecan pie! If you don’t want the buffet you can pay for one plate which is very reasonable! I believe it’s $ 9/​one plate and $ 12 for the buffet

I really love Fred’s. The food is always hot and fresh, the service is prompt and so friendly. Such wonderful place to go out to dinner with the family or friends. My partner is a vegetarian and they are so accommodating and offer so many wonderful things for him. It’s great to go to a local place that really cares about the customer and their wants and needs. Always love my experience.

Came by around 8pm. The restaurant was about half full and the food was fully stocked up. I tried the catfish… some pieces were very tough like they were out too long. Some were cooked to perfection. The ribs were a bit too salty. They were very tender though! The tilapia was very good. Seasoned very well! The desserts were great. Had very attentive staff. Would definitely come back.

Great country buffet! I love the fried green tomatoes! It doesn’t matter whether you are there breakfast lunch or dinner you will leave completely full, totally satisfied! There can be a bit of a wait but its well worth it!

I checked the place out after hearing about the ‘unbelievable breakfast buffet’. I guess some folks definition of unbelievable is different than others. Not to say it was bad, far from it, but it didn’t knock my socks off either. Expect standard items that you would see on any breakfast buffet. I’ll certainly go back because the food quality is good, the service is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable — but not because it’s the best breakfast I ever had.

First time here and I must say they well earned a four star. Be prepared to wait a little bit but trust me it’s worth it. All southern cooking ranging from fried chicken BBQ ribs corn bread etc… They also have a salad bar along with a huge selection of fruit. If you like sweets they have that to! Pretty much anything you would want they have.
This is a good location for any type of event. It’s good for big groups small family’s kids etc. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Everything is clean here as well. I must say I always try to find at least one thing bad because let’s face it no ones perfect but I can honestly say I found nothing wrong here.
My first time here and already can’t wait to come back! Its really hard to find a good clean all you can eat restaurant and this is one of them. I highly suggest giving them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent Southern style homemade food. I definitely recommend stopping in at this restaurant for lunch or dinner.

It’s an all you can eat southern food for $ 10.95! How can you beat that? The flavorful fried chicken and meatloaf along with a salad bar and dessert section. How can one resist such scrumptious home cooking?

There is nothing bad you can say about this place. Great southern country cooking done buffet style. And it’s not your typical mass produced favor less food. Everything taste good and is made from scratch.
Some of the best fried chicken ever! Come hungry because they have a ton of food options; grits, black eyed peas, fried and baked chicken, catfish, etc.
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but I would imagine their desserts are just as good.
And the wait staff is always friendly.
The only downside is their popularity, which means sometimes you may have to wait before being seated.

It’s rare that I find a buffet that I absolutely love but I completely understand the raving reviews when you compare Fred’s to any of the chain restaurants that offers this style of dining. The southern flavor in my opinion is marginal but the offerings are authentic they definitely have the descriptive array right, the selections cover all the bases starting with the fried chicken, friend green tomatoes, stewed okra, fried catfish and of course pecan pie.
We found the restaurant to be just short of «standing room only» at 7:00 PM on Saturday night, the service was solid and the restaurant was staffed with an abundances of employees sporting logo tee shirts. The interior appears to be very clean but I’d say a little dis-​shuffled but that could be just the nature of these types of restaurants that caters to the masses with unlimited trips to the feed trough.
If you’re looking for every carbohydrate on the food pyramid with unlimited portions you will absolutely love this place. Although I limited my experience tonight to one trip to the «market» as its referred to I feel I was able to get the gist of the program and provide a fair review. Unfortunately we found a lot of the items on the hot side of the bar cold and it’s been my experience this isn’t the type of food that can be served up cold and does play a role in my less than favorable review when compared to the more than 60 reviews that precede mine.
I thought the prices were very reasonable and this might be the contributing factor to the popularity by the local patrons besides the fact that it’s an unlimited buffet if you choose to go that route. I’m sure my opinion may differ if I were feeding an entire family and my concerns were more about value than strictly based on quality, and my walking in an a few hours before closing could of played a part in my disappointment although I always run with the theory the last meal you serve each day should rival the first. Certainly Fred’s has a niche in the area and I wish them continued success.

So this place is pretty amazing. I am usually not one for the buffet style restaurant because well, meh food. This is so opposite of everything I’ve ever known. Great, well priced, southern style food. It’s about an hour away from where I live, which I can’t decide if that’s good or bad (I’d probably eat there every day if it were closer).
Food was amazing, prices were better than most buffet restaurants. So to have good food, on a buffet AND cheaper than normal… SCORE. I will be back for more.
Collard greens, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, baked beans, and rolls… topped it off with a slice of apple pie… yes, that was my lunch. And it was delicious.

Big country buffet! I would say that it is a LOCAL spot with come decent grub… don’t expect anything GREAT! But you will get full.
They have ribs at dinner time on the buffet — I went for lunch and the had quite a variety.
