We came on a Saturday when they just opened around 11am. We were greeted by Eric, who was really charming and efficient. He was a great waiter! Very attentive and smiley. Not like most places now with waiters and waitresses in their phones. We ordered sandwiches. I had the Cubano and my husband had a pork sandwich I can’t remember the name but mine was awesome!!! It was all I dreamt of. Loved the pickle flavor with the mustard mixture and the sweet ham on toasted bread. Their café con leche was awesome! It took a little time to get our food but it wasn’t excessive and I could smell them cooking it. The décor is really modern Latin and is enjoyable. I loved the tables and the wall décor selection and lighting. I will def be back! Latin pig rocks.

I went to this place a few months ago because I had a craving for good, authentic Cuban food. I was highly disappointed. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and the bread was not Cuban bread and it was soggy. The meats and cheese was not good as well. As for the rope vieja I also ordered, it was alright. I’m originally from Tampa, FL so to say this tastes like home would be a lie. Save your money and vacation time and fly to FL if you want authentic Cuban food.

Great place for lunch or early dinner. Small cozy place with great staffers. Food is good it, could add a little more seasoning or flavor to the rice & beans. Steaks, plantains, sandwich are great. Have pastry there for sale which is always good for desert or take home. Also you need to BYOB.

Stopped in at the recommendation of a friend and had the best Cuban sand which I have ever tasted hands down. It had both mayo and mustard and was toasted perfectly. The bread is amazing and the pulled pork was also incredible. A must for anyone who is in area and loves Cuban food. Can’t wait to try other items. Aaron was a excellent server and the place felt like it had a really good vibe.

First time I’ve had Cuban food other than the run of the mill Cuban sandwiches. Why have I waited this long?! This place is great! I asked the guys working to help guide me and Jorge did not disappoint, the Ropa Vieja is awesome! The brown rice is perfect and grilled plantains have the perfect amount of carmelized on them! I could eat a plate of those by themselves. Can’t wait to come back

My wife and I came here for the first time with high expectations after reading Unilocal reviews left by others. We were in the area and wanted some authentic Cuban food. We started off by ordering the tostones and the fried yucca. They were served on a tray with the mojito sauce. They both felt tough and dry, which was really disappointing. We both ordered sandwiches… I ordered the Cubano(Miamian style) and my wife ordered the Ropa Vieja. Sadly, they were very sloppily prepared and tasted SO bland. Mine was over pressed, and all I could taste was burnt bread, cheese, and bits of mustard here and there. My wife had so many bell peppers in hers, that it was all she could taste. We decided to try to redeem our meal with some dessert.(Because you can’t go wrong with dessert right?) We decided to go with our Cuban favorites… Two cortadito and and we split a guava and cheese pastelito. Well… Our cortadito a came and they were so horribly prepared that it tasted like we were drinking awful liquor. The dessert actually had a very nice flaky consistency but really lacked the guava/cheese filing. In fact, I was the only one that even had a dollop of cream cheese, all my wife tasted was a bit of guava. Needless to say, we left so disappointed. We wanted to enjoy this dining experience so bad and it just wasn’t up to par.

Couldn’t decide between the Rabo Encendido(Beef Ox Tail) and the Chilindron De Chivo(Goat Stew) so I ordered the Ox Tail and my buddy got the Goat Stew so we could do some sampling. Both dishes were outstanding properly cooked and served piping hot. The white rice is cooked with garlic and the beans on the side were delicious. Will definitely be back again before this business trip is over.

Food is good, service is slow, especially if you order to go. I’ve eaten here several times before, the food seems to be inconsistent. It’s great one day and it’s blah the next, the same can be said about service.

**Caribbean islander that grew up in miami** I know what good Cuban and Puerto Rican food should taste like and this is not very high on the flavor charts. The food is alright, but I don’t feel like it is anything to run and come back to. The beans were super watery and tasteless. The price is way to high for the quality of food. I absolutely loved the artwork that was hanging on the walls though. Frankly if I didn’t get the lunch specials I would have walked out without ordering. All in all I wouldn’t run for the hills, but I wouldn’t go there unless someone else really wanted us to go.

Lechon entrée was extremely good. Overall the food was perfect for the price. I need to come back to check out the lunch special to see the amount of the food. Definitely will come back soon. Hopefully then there won’t be construction sound next door. The atmosphere and music was relxing.

This was our first visit. Everything was great! It’s a small diner with plenty of character that gives you a latin feel. The service was terrific. We came in close to closing time(hate doing that) but they welcomed us and never made us feel rushed. We had the Sampler, which includes lechon, pollo guisado, and picadillo with plantains and arroz congri. All were really good. We added the french bread starter and had a guava and cream cheese turnover to top it off. Everything was cooked perfectly, very flavorful and top notch. The service was great as well — he could not have been nicer. And we ended up being the last ones there. And it is BYOB, so that was an added bennie. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

What a gem. Love the music, the bow ties on the waiters. The food is great. Had the Ropa Vieja the last time. Brought back the girls. I’ll get to try the goat, and the yellow rice. Last time I was here, as I was waiting for my check to come back I read the Unilocal reviews about the turnovers. They have guava and guava and cream cheese. I decided last minute to bring one of each home. OMG. Very yummy. I have never had a cup of coffee, but I wanted to just to try it with these. They were awesome… and free… gratis. score My waiter Hector(I believe his name was) was extremely pleasant, and gave me the turnovers for free. That’s why I’m back less than a week.

Unfortunately we ordered the wrong things when we came. We ordered the lunch specials — lechon and picadillo. They were good, but not great. However for the price one cannot really complain at all. The real winner was the guava and cheese dessert… I wish I could’ve ordered a dozen, but they wouldn’t hold up by the time I get home(California). The service was great and we were constantly checked on which was perfect. We definitely have to come back and try more on the menu.

Very nice, homey atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. Most of my table ordered mofongo; being Puerto Rican I worried that it wouldn’t taste as good as back home, but it was excellent! They mix the meat into the plantain, which we don’t do, but it was delicious. The masitas by themselves were a bit dry, but still good. They gave us free guava and cheese turnovers because we waited for a while, and they made a mistake with my husband’s food so they brought him an entire other dish while they made his original one correctly. When we got our ticket they didn’t charge us for his food at all! Definitely recommend.

Guava and cheese turnovers… need I say more? These are a must when you come here. Don’t leave without one or else you’d be missing the entire point of eating here. They are perfectly flaky turnovers of deliciousness. We originally came in with a plan and threw it out the window when we saw the lunch specials menu. Although I wish that we stuck with our plan, the food we ended up ordering was decent. For $ 5-$ 6, you really can’t go wrong. We ordered the lechon and picadillo. The lechon was tender and plentiful. The picadillo was not the best I’ve ever had. I probably wouldn’t order that again. Next time, we’ll stick to our guns and order the cubano and chicarones y tostones. Service was friendly. Parking was plentiful. 4 stars.

The guava and cheese turnovers are worth the reviews! I’m not a big sweets person and I was sooooo into them. Yum! The waiter suggested we try the Cuban and it was everything you want in a warm sandwich. The bread is perfectly toasted, you can taste each distinct flavor and it was enough to eat half later. I warmed it up in the oven and it still tasted great! I can see why they do a great takeout business. I wish they would move to a larger venue because this is definitely the kind of place I would throw a party.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and boy was it worth it! It’s an authentic Cuban food restaurant that was recommended by a friend. I’ve never had Cuban food but this place was delicious. The sampler plate has beef, chicken and pork and comes with rice. We also got the bread appetizer along with the meal and it was great. Cuban meats are kind of a stewed and/or roasted style of meats. They are cooked until they are falling off the bone. It’s kind of like a BBQ style of meat with a different flavor. It was great food all the way and the service was wonderful. It’s one if those small, out of the way places that is easy to miss. It’s in a strip mall shopping area and the place is very small, so be prepared. Highly recommend, we will come back soon!

Looking for a good Cuban sandwich? This cute little Havana café is the place to go! They have Cuban coffee too! Great little place to meet up with friends and family, but tables are kinda small. I always feel bad like I’m crowding over to the next table(or they’re crowding over to my table). So small parties or take away!

I can’t say enough about The Latin Pig. Thanks to Unilocal because I found this place as I was searching for a new place to eat for dinner. I was tired of eating in the same ol restaurants. I have never really had authentic Cuban food but it sure did look yummy. This is a small cozy restaurant that is decorated with a Cuban feel from the decorations to the music. We were promptly greeted and seated right away. The menu had many options so it was hard to choose. We decided on the BISTEC A CABALLO which is Beef steak thinly sliced and marinated smothered with onions, topped with two fried eggs, fried yucca and 2 sweet plantains. It has yellow rice cooked with pigeon peas, cilantro and sofrito. We also ordered THESAMPLER which has 3 meat combo of lichen(shredded pork), pollo guisado(chicken) & picadillo. Served with sweet plantains and black bean rice. The Bistec was the best! It came with a good variety of items. Very authentic with the flavors. The meat was thinly sliced so it held a lot of juicy flavors. The Fries Yucca was a great compliment because it had a crunchy consistency. The Plantain was sweet and soft, almost good enough for dessert. I do like it paired with the meal because it gave a sweet and savory balance. Portion size was pretty big. There was so much food on the plate I was stuffed after eating about half. I would order this again! The Sampler was a combo of pork and chicken. They were both very tender and marinated very well. The black bean rice was more dense because of the beans and chunks of pork in it but still full of flavor and delicious. This portion was also large but my husband did not have a problem finishing it. lol We were stuffed after our large meals. It sure hit the spot though because we were starving. I would have liked to try the highly reviewed cream cheese turnover but they were sold out :(Next time it is recommended to come early because they sell out at the end of the night.

Yum! Delicious food and a great value. This place is very tiny, though. We had a reservation for 7 at 5 pm and probably didn’t need one, but by the time we left after 6 it was packed. The lechon is AMAZING. Juicy fatty pork with onions. Simple and delicious. You get your choice of white rice, Cuban rice(with beans and pork), and yellow(with peas and cilantro). I opted for yellow because I love cilantro, and it didn’t disappoint. Your dinner comes with a couple of big, juicy plantains. This place is BYOB and kid-friendly. The kid’s menu was a steal considering the enormous serving size(honestly, a kid’s portion at this place would have been enough to satisfy me). One very sad thing: by the time we asked about dessert, they had RUNOUT! C’mon, you can’t run out of dessert by 6 pm on a Saturday night. That’s unacceptable. Dessert disappointment aside, this little hole-in-the-wall is worth a visit.
