I was part of a wine tasting with 25 people that Tom from Premier Wines hosted and it was fantastic. Tom was extremely knowledgeable and personable and the wine selection was great.(We even learned the history behind the Marie Antoinette glasses). I highly recommend having Tom as part of your next party.

I enjoyed the wine class that my girlfriend hosted through Premier Wines; however, I ordered some wine at the party which was to be delivered to my home. So far, they rescheduled my delivery 2 times from the original delivery date/time I discussed with them. The reschedulings were not at my urging and have inconvenienced me each time. For the first delivery, which was supposed to be on a Sunday at 2pm, I called the delivery guy just after 2pm to make sure he was on his way because I needed to make time for errands. He told me that since another person in my area who ordered wines from them wasn’t available, he couldn’t make my delivery and wanted to reschedule MY delivery as well. I reluctantly accepted and I agreed to 5pm on a weekday. The second time, I took off of work an hour early to accomodate his 5pm request. This time, I texted him to inform him I was on my way and would be home around 5pm. He replies with a delivery time an hour later than discussed — meaning I could have taken off of work at normal time to make it home for my delivery. Again, he mentioned this other person in my area who would not be available until 6pm. My thoughts are, «Not my problem — get me my delivery at the time you promised already!» I am not hard to please, but I did not even receive a courtesy call-ahead either time, which I find to be very disrespectful of the customers’ time. That is the least that could have been done. I doubt that most people are home all day and can just receive deliveries that an adult MUST be present for at the delivery person’s leisure. I am not pleased with the customer service and would not order from Premier again.

Premier Wines departed this spot unexpectedly. There is a Notice to Vacate on their door… perhaps out of business?

Even I wave aside the unlucky fact that this place is in Plano(cringe) to sip sweet nectar in the casual tasting rooms of Premier Wines. Quaint but serious, this wine shop specializes in fastidious tasting classes of rare boutique bottles and tried-and-true vintages. I’ve had 2 tastings here, the latter a few weeks ago for a 30-person tasting. We won this in a charity auction, but prices for classes are wonderfully affordable and our guests were very pleased. Tasting experiences at Premier Wines include a generous sample of 15 wines, and featured bottles can be personalized to your taste(i.e. all reds, all dessert, etc). Tastings take roughly 1.5 hours, and a very knowledgeable, extremely friendly host will guide you through details on the wine and provide helpful tidbits to increase your wine IQ. Premier also offers full-meal catering and«fruit and cheese» plates, but they also let you bring in prepackaged dips, crackers, and bakery desserts if you wish, which I highly recommend instead of the $ 7/per head cheese plate! All bottles are of course available for purchase, and for classes they offer a mix-and-match reduced case price(i.e. buy a medley of 6 of the featured wines, it still counts as a full case and the discount applies). If you’re looking for an educational wine experience, this is the place!
