Worst motel ever… Stayed here for over a month no fridge when we asked them to notify us when one was available they said OK. Everyday I asked they lied to us because there lazy ass don’t wanna clean our room and move us into a new one. The maids won’t clean when you stave for extended period of time they won’t bring new sheets, towels, toilet paper or empty trash. They have bugs the air conditioner doesn’t work so prepared to be hot. No fridge or microwave unless you wanna pay $ 3 extra a day and even then they don’t wanna give you one of the rooms with those amenities. WiFi also costs $ 3 a day and doesn’t work anyway the cable also cuts out a lot. The motel is full of druggies and prostitutes. If I were you I would spend a little extra because you get what you pay for.

Since I have a dog, I travel to a lot of Motel 6 locations. It is always hit or miss, but this particular one is a definite miss. It is an older motel in a transitional area surrounded by office parks, with a smelly restaurant dumpster in the parking lot and plenty of shady people without shirts wandering the parking lot. I pulled in and parked out front for check in, and my nostrils immediately noticed that the main office stank of cigarette smoke. Nice touch. After getting my room keycard, I parked in the lot, and took note of the many signs posted reminding me that Management was not liable for any stolen property. I lugged my luggage + dog + dog’s bag of food, pooper scooper bags and other related paraphernalia up a flight of stairs and into my room. This particular Motel 6 has undergone one of their new renovations, which I have dubbed«Tacky Ikea motive.» The furniture is minimalist, and the floors seem to have been covered by contact paper featuring a faux wood flooring pattern. My dog hates it, and tap dances across the floors. I pull the sheets down, and immediately notice that someone has been sleeping in my bed. By sleeping, I mean doing the deed, and no one has bothered to change the sheets. As in, there is irrefutable DNA evidence suitable for the CSI Miami team to collect and analyze. Eek! I stop by the office to notify the 19ish year old attendant that someone had a great time up there but didn’t disinfect afterwards, and could he please help me out? My kindly 19ish year old front desk attendant apologizes, agrees that it is indeed gross for anyone to copulate at a Motel 6, and gives me a spare blanket(probably never washed a single time during its lifespan) to put on top of my sheets and presumably provide some level of protection from dried man spunk. I head to the restaurant with the smelly dumpster for a couple beers and overpriced tapas, all the while wishing I was truly drunk so I didn’t have to think about what I was sleeping on that night. The best part of the evening was when I was walking my dog around the rear of the property, past all the families living liked packed sardines in a single Motel 6 room, and a crazy lady yells to me «Is that your sister??» Yes you crazy f**kwad, my dog is my sister. And Motel 6 is my home away from home, and Plano is the best place on earth.

Was staying with a friend… when the electricity went out. No problem, figured it would be on within a few hours… neighbors had power across the way. But as midnight approached…(power went out at 4:30 pm), no relief in site… rumors of relief… but I wasn’t about to sleep in 90+ degree heat with 95% humidity if I didn’t have to. Enter Motel 6. I’ve stayed here before, as a temp place, and it’s done the job. This night was no different. $ 40 for a reasonable room(flat panel tv) and ice cold AC. Well worth it! Different in that the room didn’t have carpeting… and in this case, maybe that’s not a bad thing? Probably makes it easier to clean the room. Parking was easy, and customer service was great. Why not 5 stars? 3 stars IS5 stars for Motel 6. That’s their gig. I’d stay here again if the need came up. BTW…power came back on at 3 am at my friend’s. I returned there around 9 am. ;)
