This Macy’s is amazing! Mostly because of the staff. Flew in from out of town, had an important job interview and lost my luggage Walked in and explained my situation, instantly I had three women hunting the store for the perfect Navy blue dress, I had navy pumps on already. They dressed me in the dressing room, cut all tags off, put my clothes in a bag and I paid as I was walking out, all while they wished me the best of luck!!!

Sorry Macy’s but you are in a mall that perhaps has seen its best day. The stores in the mall are either dropping out of sight or become ones that sell cheap merchandise. This definitely impacts shopping and shoppers at the remaining anchor stores such as Macy’s. Your lines of merchandise continue to be spread out more and more indicating that you too may not be long for this location. Some areas in the store really needed a lot of «straightening up» the last time we visited, some merchandise was out of place and scattered throughout the department. Finding a cashier to check out can sometimes be a challenge.

The only positive things I have to say about this store: * I was eventually able to obtain plain, tailored khaki pants that were not cropped and were not festooned with tacky zippers, studs, or other nonsense. * The manager of the cosmetics department was very kind and helpful. * The girl who rang up my eventual purchase was also very kind and helpful. What else can I say about Macy’s? Plenty, and none of it is good. At least not today, and not at this location. Hoooooooooooooooooooly Christmas. Their stock sucks. It wasn’t well-arranged on the racks making it very difficult to find sizes. They didn’t have most pants in anything smaller than an 8.(This is a region-wide problem.) That’s a big deal if you wear a SIZEFOUR. We need pants too, y’know. So there I am, pair of pants in hand. I stand in line at a cash register behind two little old ladies, the first of which is painfully slowly working her way through a Macy’s credit card application. I was never acknowledged by the cashier. It was quite a while before I saw another employee walking past, so I walked up to her and asked her if she could help me find a size. «No, that other lady can help you more.» «That other lady» was at a different register ringing up a customer with another in line behind HER. So I gamely stood in line for a few minutes, then decided to hell with it and went to buy makeup instead. Maybe I’d come back when the place was less busy. So I went to the Clinique counter, where I was roundly ignored by the staff there. They served other customers ahead of me who had arrived there after I had. Finally an employee from a different brand’s counter came over to help, but not knowing anything about Clinique’s products she wasn’t much help(though her effort was appreciated). She offered to ask the Clinique ladies the questions I’d asked her in an effort to help me more, and I told her she shouldn’t have to do their jobs for them and I’d prefer it if they helped me themselves. So, one finally wanders over to me all heavy sighs and attitude. I explained my needs to her, picked a product, and was instructed that it was one dollar short of the total needed to get the free gift. She then grabbed a pencil sharpener and said«This is the cheapest thing we have, it’s only $ 3.» Didn’t ask me if I even wanted a damn pencil sharpener. Just grabbed it like I’d be grateful to spend $ 3 on something I don’t want or need. I told her«Well, I needed a lipstick too and that will put me over.» More attitude. I picked a lipstick, she rang me up, managed a barely-civil«thank you, have a nice day» which was more like a «f you, drop dead.» I’m pissed by now. I wandered through the store trying to find a free cash register so I can ask an employee for the manager. First one I came to who was free didn’t even look up from the counter and said«whaddya need?» And not in a down-home, Texas kind of way. In a surly kind of way. I walked off to find another employee. Had to wait in line yet again. Finally a manager comes over. I explain the situation to her and she handled it gracefully and politely. I never yelled or cussed. I just politely explained what happened. I returned the cosmetics purchase, since I would be reminded of my experience every time I used those products and it would piss me off, plus on the chance that that woman works on commission I don’t want her getting paid for my sale. They didn’t have the pants I needed in my size in ANY Macy’s store in north Texas, but they were able to special-order them for me and have them shipped to my house. Good result. I left satisfied, but I will NEVER go back there. If I need another pair of pants, I’ll go to Northpark or Galleria.

I am livid about a delivery of a mattress and box springs to our home today. The salesperson didn’t explain that their«regular» height box springs would place the new mattress about 6″ higher than our previous one on our frame. In the store, we had no problem lying down or getting up off the display models. However, once delivered, it became obvious the box springs were too tall. We are retired and don’t want problems getting in and out of bed as we grow older. Now, they want to charge us a restocking fee plus another delivery/pick up fee that is $ 120 for a $ 360 set of box springs. OUTRAGEOUS! Avoid Macy’s for mattresses. They are one of the few places in Plano that charges re-stocking fees. Never again will I buy anything of this sort from Macy’s.

I can never find anything I want at this Macy’s! I don’t know what it is, but I have this $ 100 Gift Card from Christmas and I’ve been in 3 times and can’t find anything I want here. It’s nice and clean and not to crowded, but for some reason, it seems they don’t have much selection compared to other Macy’s. I would’ve given this place a 2-star rating, but since it was clean, I gave it a 3.
