I went for an early lunch on a weekday. It look quite a while to find because google maps mislead me quite a bit. But when I arrived there were a couple other tables, but other than that it was quite calm and empty. You order like you’re at Noodles & Co, Taco Joint, or some place where you place an order at a register, get a number and sit down. It took a while for the food to arrive, but it was good. The rice easily fell off the roll, but the amazing flavors made up for that. I did a build-you-own-bento with a Slammin’ Salmon roll, Nutella desert cone, miso, and a house salad with ginger dressing. The roll was great(aside from the rice falling off). The miso was ok, nothing special. Same with the house salad. The desert cone was different, and I like different. I also got green tea mochi for dessert. The ice cream was good, but the outside was very dry and didn’t have the usual malleable gummy texture. Because the prices were good, I’d go back. I would not, however, recommend the mochi.

I went on a Friday night and it was not that busy. I ordered the California and Crazy Cajun rolls. They are not the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had but for the price there nothing to complain about. Service was good and were very tentative. Overall I will go back again and would recommend going for lunch.

What a weird experience! When we entered, there was nobody there to seat us, so we stood around for about 10 minutes until a chef popped her head over the counter and told us to sit where we liked. A waitress escorted us to the bar to take our order, and when we got our food it was lackluster at best. The rolls are tiny, and the sushi rice fell apart. The fish in the rolls was very thinly sliced and did not taste fresh. The staff was… ready to go home, which was understandable, but they tried to close the store an hour before the posted closing hour on the door, and sheepishly grinned at us when we asked them what was going on. Our waitress also smelled like she had just come back in from a smoke break(I know, waiters are people too.) but it just added to the overall bad experience. It’s a shame this isn’t like their other locations. We won’t be coming back.

I love sushi and have been to many different places. This has not not been a good experience. The sushi was very small, did not taste good, it didn’t have seaweed, didn’t have many different to choose from, the majority were spicy, the dessert cone contains rice, and the stuffed avocado was very small. We spent $ 35.00 on lunch and were hungry afterwards. The bento box was over priced and contained small portions even for that. I could have spent that at another sushi restaurant and would have been completely satisfied.

I was initially excited to try how do you roll… Create or customise anything on the menu? Cool! A winner on shark tank(the American spin on Dragons Den)? Solid. Sounds like it could be good. When we walked in we weren’t greeted. This would have been no issue for a casual place, except for the fact it was empty and the employees were standing around chatting. Ordering was a bit confusing as well — despite appearances this is a ‘full service’ sit down type restaurant — yet we were encouraged to stand in line(again, no one else here) by the register to look at the menus. Sadly this time did not expedite service once we actually did sit down. A wait for food I can understand, but waiting 10+ minutes for water when the restaurant is empty and it comes from the soda machine placed in the middle of the seating floor is just silly. The food you ask? May-yuck… I’ve never seen sushi drenched so heavily in mayonnaise that you can’t even see(or, crucially — taste) anything else. We started with the miso soup, which as another review notes — was probably worse than grocery store packets, and had no taste or texture. The sushi itself: we ordered several dishes from the so called stuffed avocado with ‘civiche’(merely an avocado with fake krab. Diced onion and mayo on top) to traditionally easy items like a Philly roll, the recommended slammin salmon, etc. All were coated in the afro mentioned sauce but the Philly: fear not we were offered mayo to go with it on the side(seriously). In short, it is overpriced, and over promised. Save your time, and money — head someplace else. Heck, simply go pick up what is presumably much better, faster, and more economical sushi at market Street(the grocer) in the same parking lot.

This one star review is painful to write and I’ve never been this sad writing a one star review before. How Do You Roll sounds great on paper — who wouldn’t want to create their own dishes Chipolte style. And looking at photos across the Internet, it looks like that’s what you do at most of their locations. But not this franchise… This is now a full sit down restaurant which was a surprise when we got there. My salad had a little bottled dressing on it(I added soy sauce for substance and taste to make it edible) My Ramen bowl had this broth that I can’t describe except to say I still have that bad after taste in my mouth 90 minutes later. The shrimp was actually sushi shrimp(the kind you buy pre-fillet frozen at the restaurant supply place) and the more I ate the worse it got. My wife’s meal wasn’t satisfying eithrt and the sushi reminded me of supermarket sushi(granted it was priced the same too). The dumplings were the type you buy frozen at Sams. I felt so bad for this place as it seems like it should have everything going for it and yet it doesn’t. Based on how empty the restaurant was tonight I’m guessing they don’t have much time left. I really wanted this to be my new place to get quick and easy ramen and sushi… but it looks very doubtful they can save this ship.

Was amazed by the food here– new aged sushi is the best way I can describe this place! Wife got the crunch daddy roll and the smoking salmon roll, she loved them both. I was shocked they had strawberries and oranges, but it worked very well. The strawberries paired well with the salmon and then the oranges matched with the tempura roll. I had the new burrito and it was great the pico was fresh and the spicy tuna had great flavor. The 3 alarm was amazing, great spice and flavor profile to it. I will be back to eat again.

To start the manager(I think) seemed nice and explained to us how the restaurant worked. While she was away helping another customer another employ came by and I asked her what some things on the menu were… she couldn’t even explain it to me. I just said OK and let her go on with what she was doing cause she seemed like she was struggling to explain items on the menu. Food didn’t look fresh, my friend had hair embedded in her dumplings the lady took them back and came out with new dumplings but honestly they looked like the same ones from before without the hair. On top of that looked like and tasted like everything was microwaved especially the dumplings. The manager did give us a free«zen hour» appetizer for next time we go, but honestly the food was wasn’t that great anyways for me to go back. The food didn’t taste like what I thought based based on what I spent. I bought a bento box which was $ 14 box and honestly the food tasted like it was worth $ 3 all microwaved quickly and brought out. will never be going back here again.

Clean, modern and quick sushi at a comparable price. I first heard of this place on Shark Tank so I was eager to try it out when it opened in Plano. The inside was clean and modern. The staff was eager to tell us about the menu and tell us how it all worked. It was slow in the evening so we placed our order and received it within about 5 – 7 minutes. I ordered the 3-Alarm. The tuna tasted fresh and I loved how the rice was rolled in spices. I was impressed with the quality and flavor of my roll. My only wish is that was rolled a little tighter. My husband had the shrimp tempura roll with mandarin oranges. I was blown away with the taste the oranges added. I thoroughly enjoyed trying both rolls. The spicy edamame was flavorful. I am not sure how crazy I am about the saturation with oil but the description did reflect what was used to season them. Overall, I can’t wait to go back and try another roll. Quick service at a reasonable cost.

This was a let down for me. I know they’re going for a unique spin on sushi and it’s meant to be a fun place but when sushi starts having mandarin oranges wrapped inside of it, I dont know if that’s sushi anymore… I just felt like it was a huge departure from traditional sushi and it falls flat. It’s also rather overpriced. I ordered an Unagi roll + cucumber salad. The cucumber salad had really thick slices of cucumber… there wasn’t any finesse in making it. You know who does a really good cucumber salad? Sushi Sake. I came here on a Friday for lunch and had to wait around 15 min just for those 2 dishes.

I went on a weekday around 2pm. Not too busy there and pretty much got my sushi right away. I have tried both customized roll and their rolls. I still like their rolls much better. When I customize mine, I just don’t know what go with what will taste good. I like their rolls but not too much with the ramen. The soup is bland and it is not the traditional ramen. I texture is different from the authentic ramen noodle. Anyway, overall; nice, clean environment, good service and attentive staff!

For fast food sushi, I thought this was great. Those stuffed avocados are amazing, and the rolls were all very tasty and pretty reasonably priced.(Just wish they had a little more rice, some were a bit on the skimpy side). The chicken waffle and rockin shrimp sushi cones were fun and unique. But I would pass on the veggie dumplings next time. They were oddly crunchy on the ends, but not in the usual fried dumpling kind of way. Hard to put a finger on it, but they seemed almost stale. I think comparing this place to Sushi sake is like comparing a Five Guys burger to a Ruth Chris NY strip steak.(Who’s to say you can’t like both)? That they also offer a full bar is unexpected and pretty remarkable, overall I’m impressed. We’ll be back.

Came here because of the publicity from Shark Tank. Liked the concept, and wanted to like the sushi — but I just can’t. Honestly, Whole Foods, which is just across the street, has better sushi. Came here on a Friday night — place was reasonably busy, but not jammed. Ordered my own roll creations for two reasons — 1. I like the concept of creating your own rolls. 2. The pre-prepared rolls are very Americanized. No cut on anybody who likes that, but I can’t stand any sushi that has cream cheese, cooked fish, coated in mayo etc. Even with the«create your own» approach, I had trouble. There simply weren’t enough fish options. No white tuna, no mackerel, no yellowtail, no raw scallop — you get my point. Finally just sucked up the lack of fish options and ordered a tuna and jalapeño roll, salmon and jalapeño roll, and a spicy tuna hand roll. Ordering took a LONG time. Chalk it up to being just opened perhaps, but it took far too long regardless. Don’t know if it was the cashier’s first job, but he seemed to have trouble keying in my order. Then, after the 5 – 7 minutes it took me to order 3 items, I noticed the cashier has rung up 2 of my rolls wrong. Told them about it and they said they would fix it when they made the rolls. After that, it was another 10 – 15 min. wait. However, when I got back home to eat them, there was no jalapeño in my tuna roll, and my third roll was a regular roll, not a hand roll. As for the quality of the sushi: it wasn’t terrible, but it was poor for«restaurant sushi.» When you go out for sushi, you expect more than grocery store grade. You want the fish to be buttery, cut properly, and just have that«fresh sushi-grade» taste. Unfortunately, even on the roll that was made entirely correct, it wasn’t very good. Not rolled tight, fish quality no better than store-bought sushi, etc. I could’ve avoided the wait and just picked up sushi from Whole Foods. Would I go back? No. I’ll continue to pay a few $ more and stick to the best sushi in DFW(in my opinion) and go up to Sushi Sake in Richardson — the quality there blows this sushi away, with FAR more traditional sushi/sashimi options and types of fish. Hope the franchise does well, but as they say on Shark Tank, «I’m out.»

We ordered two bento boxes. The bento boxes are an awesome value! The only issue is that i didn’t like that there was so much fruit on the rolls. One of my rolls had mango but it was just too much. I couldn’t taste the salmon anymore. Service was excellent. The cashier guy had a lot of energy! He was bouncing around and was very quick with service. He was the only guy there working the front of house but clearly it didn’t matter much. He was everywhere.

Fast Casual continues explorin’ the world at this intersection. With ‘Zoes Kitchen’, ‘Chipotle’, ‘La Madeleine’, ‘Paneras’, ‘Lyfe Kitchen’ & ‘Palio’s Pizza Café’ nearby, there is plenty of Fast Casual to choose from. Here comes Japanese[ish] to the market. Hopefully you know the drill by now: Order your food at the register, then get your customizable(possibly healthy) food. Every time I’ve visited the location, it has been mostly empty, and I was rushed by staff with overly eager attitudes. It was kinda disconcerting how ‘friendly’ and ‘helpful’ they tried to be. Too much attention scares me. I’m a loner! I wanna be alone! Fast Casual should help me get food quickly and then resume hiding in a corner! Eek! Stop looking at me! Uhh… anyways… There is a full bar; a nice option. The majority of the menu is carbo-loaded, consisting mostly of rice or noodles, but fortunately there are salads and stuffed avocados. The sushi was acceptable for what it is: a quick meal. The stuffed avocados are a simple idea, and yet I really enjoyed it. Half an avocado stacked with ingredients that overflow the vacant seed hole. They didn’t skimp on the ingredients, and it was a nice bite or two. _________ Conclusion: It is a nice entry to the Fast Casual scene, and seems like a good idea. The Stuffed Avocados were especially delightful. Unfortunately, with all the competition in the immediate vicinity, I’m not certain that it managed to impress me enough for frequent return visits.

Food — 3 stars Service — 4 stars Value — 3 stars The food here is fresh and it’s nice that they offer the option of brown rice for your rolls. We got the R-eel-y good roll, a custom made roll and the Beef and Broccoli Ramen Noodle bowl along with 2 bowls of miso soup. The miso soup and the custom-made roll were the best dishes of the night. The R-eel-y Good roll started off good, but after a few pieces, I felt it was a little too sweet for my tastes. The Beef and Broccoli Ramen bowl was too sweet for my tastes too. We’re not sure if the food was too sweet because the place had just been open for about a week or so, but it left us not wanting to give it another try. We might come back here again after a few months to give it another chance.

Super fan here! Loved the concept and the food is delicious! They have many options in the menu but you can«build your own» from the items offered, which is really cool. On top of that, they have what they call«cones»(the name is Temaki, which is a «sushi rolled as a cone». I just know one other restaurant that has this in the area, very happy to learn it is part of the menu here. I had a tuna temaki and the crab salad. Very, very fresh! The seaweed was perfect, very crispy. Sauce for the salad was excellent. Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes. Service is also great, very attentive!

I love the concept. I just wish I got more food for what I paid for… Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious, but I paid $ 9 for some ceviche and dumplings… was hoping my portions would be larger than this. I will try it again but will order sushi rolls next time!

The service was great! I got the bento box which was $ 12. It was pretty filling so I would say you definitely get a good amount for what you pay. It included two starters, a roll, a sushi cone, and soup. I really liked that they had a ton of options for the rolls and sushi cone. I chose the R-eel-y Good roll and I decided to create my own sushi cone with salmon, cucumbers, avocado and yum yum sauce.
