I order from hong Kong Express(HKE) all the time. Here is what I really enjoy from Hong Kong Express. HKE delivers to my home. The hot and sour soup is always spicy, unlike some other places. My favorite dish is Gernal Tso’s Chicken which very few places know how to make. While I have never visited the actual location, the people at HKE know where I live and remind me of what I ordered last if I can not make up my mind. HKE is willing to customize my order and aims to please me. I especially enjoy the family deal for $ 17.99 which comes with 2 entrees, rice, soup, and pastry.

My first review ever on Unilocal and it’s a bad one :’( So I went here today for lunch with my family. We saw them advertising on the korean newspaper, so we gave it a shot. We got there around 1pm, and there was absolutely no cars in front of the restaurant. usually that means the place isn’t very good. well at least that’s what I think. We went in, and the atmosphere wasn’t that great. We ordered black bean seafood noodles(I think that’s what its called in English) and jjamppong(noodles with seafood that’s a bit spicy). The lady first gave us a dish that we didn’t order. Um, what? lol. But we decided to eat it anyway. First bite into the food. And I thought to myself, I’m not coming back again. Two words, TOOBLAND. :/ Our family probably is not going to come here ever again. I kind of feel bad for them. :(

We went to Hong Kong Express last night. We ordered the fried dumplings, which were decent. I ordered almond chicken… and what I received was a pile of questionable chicken-like substance smothered in brown goo, with nuts sprinkled on top. I’m used to chinese food being different than what I’m accustomed to, so I took a bite. It was the most horrible thing I have ever put in my mouth. Ever. The chicken was not the right texture, I don’t even think it was chicken. It didn’t taste like it. The brown goo sauce tasted like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, but I imagine that if I were in to eating dirt and random scraps from the ground, it would have been about the same. My husband ordered chicken and broccoli. It’s pretty hard to screw that up… but they did. After I had taken two bites, I looked at him and said«Want to just leave and go somewhere else?» He looked at me with such an intensely grateful look on his face and said«Yes!!» The friend that was with us agreed strongly as well. We left after paying a $ 32 bill… $ 32 for food that tasted like it may have come from a can labeled«Alpo» and went to Royal Chopstix instead. You could not pay me to go back to this place. But hey, the lady was really friendly! Too bad she couldn’t cook!

I was told there were homemade noodles here so I just had to give it a try! It was almost a mix of Chinese and Korean food. I ordered a Korean Seafood Pancake which was very good, just a little skimpy on the seafood. Also a bowl of Seafood Noodle Soup, lots of seafood and the noodles tasted homemade! Give this place a try, the owners are very nice and welcoming.
