We just stopped in there on a Friday night a little after 7, the sign said open but we didn’t see any people, none, no customers and no staff! We went in, TVs were on, stood there for a few minutes but it was too much like a ghost ship so we left without ever seeing any other humans. One of our odder restaurant experiences! Actually, now we are wondering if we should have called the police. The only reason it has a star is that I can’t post a review without it.

I was very impressed with the customer service. Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had in a very long time. They were very welcoming and made sure they attend to our needs. I’ve had their calamari as an appetizer, and their boiled half and half crab and shrimp. Their sauce to their boiled seafood was very different. It was different from all the Cajun seafood places I’ve been to, but it was really good. It was buttery with a lot of enriched flavors hidden within their sauce. Considering it was the sister restaurant, Da Won, a Korean restaurant, I was craving some Kim Chi fries. Although it wasn’t on their menu, the chef whipped it up anyways. With whatever resources he had, he managed to make something that wasn’t on the menu upon my request. One downfall was that they don’t serve crawfish year round like most Cajun places. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant visit. Their menu is still relatively limited, but it was a great dinner experience with an open bar.

I have to say this was one of my favorite dining experiences that I have had since moving to the DFW area. We originally were going to head downtown, but decided against it when we saw the traffic on 75. My boyfriend told me about a place that he wanted to try, which was Da Won’s Boil and Fry. We were immediately greeted by the Chef, Simon who was warm, friendly, and genuinely happy that we came in. The décor is simple, almost the feel of a pop up restaurant. He lead us to our table. The tables are big picnic tables, which are great for groups. Our server, who was also very friendly came over and greeted us to get our drink orders. We ordered house salads with ginger dressing to start out with. For dinner we ordered the shrimp boil and the catfish appetizer. We had to try the catfish since other Unilocalers seemed to like it. I must say… It was delicious. The filets were big and fluffy, and the breading was light, but flavorful. I am not really a catfish person, but this was amazing. Now on to the shrimp boil… imagine huge shrimp with the heads still on them, pieces of potato, corn, and sausage in a flavorful sauce. It came in a bag, and was amazing. Our server brought us bibs and I had a pair of gloves. Well worth it because it did get a little messy in a good way. What I loved was that Chef Simon checked on us a few times. He is a young, energetic chef who is passionate about upping the food game in Plano. The food was made with love, and I can definitely see us going regularly. This is a must try.

The food tasted good & the seasoning was perfect. However, both my wife & I had some digestive issues the morning after eating there, so we are a little suspicious.

Cajun style seafood boil! The orders come out as a 5 on a 1 – 10 scale for spice. You can request for it to be more mild or more spicy! There are lots of options on the menu. They also have a separate Korean bar food menu. I recommend the flame grilled galbi salad! Check it out!
