Yeah… next time it would be great if they let people know they would be closing before the Groupon expiration date versus shutting down their website, turning off their number, and leaving a for lease sign in the window. Now I’m trying to get a refund from Groupon. In all the years I’ve had success, these thieves gave me my first burn. There’s no excuse for not leaving an automated message or something on your website. They did not even bother to post anything on their Facebook page! Nonsense.
Update: Groupon gave me a refund in less than 24 hours. It is Groupon bucks, but it’s resolved. How was it resolved so quickly, you may ask? Well, because they could not get hold of the owners either. Hot mess, right?!

This place get 0 stars from me, we live in the Colony and drove all the way there, work hours are from noon to 8pm on Sundays we get there at 1:47pm nobody at all was there not even the staff the doors were locked. This is the 2^nd time we have tried to TRY this charcoal restaurant… 1^st time many months ago they were closing early … So they only had limited things on there menu to serve. Smh… Bad Business please get it together.

The website looks pretty nice and high end, but when you get there you’ll realize they just hired a great photographer. The inside is much less so. It’s a restaurant that tries to be a lounge and a bar at the same time. It’s very dark on the inside. When you walk in one half has the traditional dining arrangements, but there’s a stage with a TV and electronic disco ball. On the other half there’s a more spacious lounge type area with a bunch of white sofas and those bar style high tables. Kind of odd in general.
When I first went in it was so dead so I shouted to see if it was even open and eventually I was greeted by a customer (seriously). Eventually some lady showed up and I took a seat. I expected to be handed a menu but she just stood there and stared at me for a few seconds and then asked if she could help me. Well woman, I didn’t come here to play checkers, maybe hand me a menu or ask what I’d like to drink? So I had to ask her for a menu which she handed to me. I had wanted to try that grilled salmon with the spicy sauce you see here on their Unilocal page and their website, but I was told it wasn’t available. It was just a string of annoyances dining here.
How was the food? Well it was fairly unremarkable, save for the interesting ground nut sauce, which tastes exactly like it sounds. It was served with a side of instant rice, some iceberg lettuce scraps, a tomato slice and some white onion slivers with plantains. Meh.
Honestly I hate being served to begin with due to the uncomfortable power dynamic and the ass kissing on the part of the server and the lack of control on the part of the diner, but that’s another story. This place has the worst service ever. Is it because I’m not black? It gets a ⁴⁄₅ only because it’s one of the few restaurants serving African food. Otherwise it’d be a ³⁄₅. Might be worth going to a few times and then never returning.

Cuisine from Cameroon and Nigeria. The food was spectacular. Try the whole tilapia. Seasoned and cooked to perfection it was delish. The jollof rice, plantains, fufu and goat stir fry were good too. I didn’t care for the fish pie mainly because the pastry dough had a stale, freezer burn taste to it. Just thinking about that fish makes my mouth water. I even ate the head which I normally skip. So yummy.

Came by last night (Friday) and they were «cooking for a special event» so I couldn’t eat. Thought I would give another chance and came back just now on Saturday night and there is a sign on the door saying closed for special event. I was really in the mood for some of this awesome food but think this is the last wasted trip for me. Oh well.

True African restaurant. Be ready to eat when you go there as portions are pretty big. My wife and I had to get everything to go as we could not finish our food. The only inconvenience is that they do not have a kid menu and most of their dishes are spicy which most kids can’t handle.

Great service… great food… a «must go to» restaurant…

I was looking forward to checking this place out but, unfortunately it may already be closed. I’ve called a couple of times over the past few days and keep getting the same message that the number is not in service.
I didn’t want to give any star rating, without the opportunity to eat there. If they are still open, it would eschew the average, but the system forces a rating to post comment above.

Honestly the best fish I have ever had! With just the right amount of spice and flavor. This is a new establishment with a bar coming soon (2 weeks). They have a stage set up so ill have to stop by in the evening to watch for performers. This place has potential. They have top of the line music system, Fast and curtious servers, and good food. I’m never in the Plano area but when I stop I will eat here
