Calloway’s Nursery

This is a good sized nursery with a big selection. We came in looking for a Christmas tree after we struck out at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Calloways had a huge section of flocked and unflocked trees. They were all ranging in sizes and incredibly full. We saw very few with bald spots. Their trees are on the pricier end compared to other places. You’ll end up paying double what you would at Home Depot or Lowes. They will deliver the tree to you for $ 20 within 3 – 5 days of your selection and purchase. We chose to just take it with us and save the $ 20. Overall I was pretty happy with our purchase. The tree we brought home was absolutely beautiful. It stood about 9 ft tall and a good 4+ft across. My only complaint would be lack of service. We had to wander around to find someone to help us. The first guy that helped us acted as if we were a huge burden. The second guy was great but I actually had to track him down after the first guy disappeared on me. Overall I’ll likely return for any gardening needs we have.

The staff was helpful and they had the plants and organic spray I was looking for. Ill certainly be returning here.

Well I guess they are entitled to their off days. I was greeted, as I left (!), and watched the staff talk, count and reorganize the store. Totally ignoring all 4 customers on the grounds. Humph. I found the fertilizer I wanted, but price was 220% higher than online. Wow.

I’m a brown thumb and this seems to be a type of place if you know what you are looking for. Although one of the workers did help me with a particular issue i need to solve for, for my backyard and she even told me where to go to! Very helpful.

Top quality gardening supplies and plants. Great sales end of season. Unfortunately, I just found out this location is closing. They lost their lease due to the impending construction nearby in Addison. I’ll miss this Calloways as it’s always been a place that I can get my fall display items and spring gardening items without having to go to far.

Do you need some real gardening expertise? Do most of your plants die and agonizing death? Are all your thumbs brown? Well, fear not! Calloway’s Nursery is here! The plants are strong and healthy and the staff is top notch. Yeah, the prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for.
