Neat little sushi place with a small Asian beer selection for those wanting to try something new. I sit at the sushi bar and get BOGO sushi rolls at a great price. Staff is super sweet and the whole experience is relaxing and quite enjoyable. Please stop by-I don’t want this place to close down(it’s never super busy when I go)!

If you happen to be a sushi connoisseur then Aki Sushi may not make a second trip for you. While the atmosphere is understated, clean, and quiet, the food itself is just okay. I wasn’t over the top excited about it. I’ve had tastier sushi, however, the waitresses were extremely nice and attentive.

Not the best sushi ever, but the buy one get one free deal makes it worth it. I wouldn’t take a first date here or anytime I’m trying to impress, but it’s a great place for a table of 1 to get an unbothered sushi fix. I’ll be back!

I was very pleasantly surprised by my first visit. The restaurant was clean, understated and very comfortable. The employees were very pleasant and helpful in helping explain the dishes. I chose the Shrimp Tempura. It came with Miso soup, small salad, Tempura Shrimp and Tempura Vegetables. Also included was steamed rice and 4 California rolls. The meal was more than adequate and I actually took half home. Which microwaved very well the next day. The Miso soup was warm, silky tasting on the palette and NOT salty. The salad was a typical small salad. What struck me was the delicious fresh creamy ginger dressing. I ate it all! The Tempura Shrimp was beautifully plated. Was light, succulent and NOT greasy! The vegetables still had the integrity of crunch, with a light tempura and NOT greasy. I originally stopped in for the California rolls and was thrilled they were included in the meal. They were very fresh and light. Very good. It was my first time there, but I can assure you it won’t be the last. I like that they also do catering, which will be great for impromptu get togetherness.

I freaking love this place. BOGO sushi rolls from 11 – 6 Monday through Saturday is awesome and such a deal! I would definitely get the Snow roll(and top it with sriracha yourself to make it 5x better). The restaurant is extremely clean inside, which you would not suspect from the look of the outside. It’s seriously just in a bad place but it’s a hidden gem other than that! I’ve been here 3 times in the past week, and have had great experiences each time. If there are a bunch of people eating, just know you’ll be waiting a bit because their is only 1 regular sushi chef… But the wait is worth it. Also, I asked for my water without lemon and she brought it out with lemon automatically remembering I had requested without. She was super apologetic and got me a new water within seconds without me even complaining(which I wouldn’t have anyways). Anyways, I always get 2 of the $ 10 dollar rolls and my bills is $ 11 before tip!

buy one get one free for sushi and rolls during lunch time is really hard to pass up! The snow roll is delicious as well! I went in with two friends while it was quiet in the afternoon and the server was very attentive and the food came out fast.

I absolutely love the food and service I recieve here!!! Everytine we ho we see the same sushi chef behind the sushi bar… and he NEVER fails to take great care of us. All sushi is made to order, & made to perfection. BUYONEGETONE during lunch time is AMAZING!!! Great prices during regular hours as well, but I can walk out satisfied after spending less than $ 20.

BUYONEGETONEFREE during lunch hours is a really good deal! Most of the rolls are around $ 10-$ 12, portions are big as well, so super sweet! The best part is it’s not packed, so we always sit right down during peak lunch hour, and can enjoy our meal right away. I love rolls like the volcano rolls, I always get 2, since they’re BOGO, and the crab tower is really good too.

Whenever I’m home from college and crave sushi I always come here. Their weekday sushi happy hour is a steal. You buy one roll you get another half off. For the price you can’t beat it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Hands down, Aki Sushi has the best«lunch special» deal I’ve ever laid my eyes on. BOGO on all sushi rolls before 6pm? I’m pretty sure that’s illegal in some countries. But hey, with most of the rolls topping out at $ 10-$ 12, do the math, and that’s a pretty sweet deal. I would recommend sticking to the BOGO deal with the rolls. Otherwise, I really don’t think anything else is all that worth it. The bento box meals and the noodle bowls are fairly mediocre, and really not worth the money when you could be getting a full on sushi roll. Of the sushi rolls, the Dragon Roll and the Snow Roll really hit the spot for me. I always order them when I come in and I enjoy them immensely! They’re not superbly crafted, but for $ 5-$ 6 a roll, you really can’t complain. All in all, I would recommend getting their cooked rolls over their raw rolls, primarily because I feel like cooking the rolls brings the texture and flavor together more nicely. And honestly, I think they do a pretty good job of making them. Their raw rolls certainly won’t make you write home, but they won’t give you food poisoning either. You’re less likely to go wrong if you stick with the cooked rolls. As a final note, Aki Sushi certainly doesn’t have the finest sushi in the city, but their lunch special is pretty damn hard to beat. It’s probably more of a 3.5÷5 stars, but if you pick and choose your rolls correctly, you can definitely come away feeling completely satisfied!

The service can be very good depending on the server and we get a reasonable portion for what we pay. Mind you that I don’t know much about speciality sushis, but my experience so far has been good. The place needs some décor improvement, but the food tastes good.

Wonderful dining experience. Quick and friendly experience. Appetizers are very reasonably priced. Sushi is also fresher than expected.

I’ve been here a few times now, and haven’t been disappointed. Service is always prompt and cheerful, the place is never that crowded, pricing is very good, and the fish is always cut perfectly and is fresh. Sashimi portions are generous. Spicy rolls are pleasantly spicy. If you need a cooked roll, try the Snow Roll — I could eat one of those every week and it wouldn’t get old! There’s another good sushi place not far away — it’s very busy and pricier. Get to this place before it gets too busy!

After being refused the ability to order to-go at another sushi place I turned to Aki Sushi… pleasantly surprised… good sized fish, a great shrimp tempura«cut» roll and serviceable spicy tuna roll… I’ll be back!!!

pulled up here cuz I’ve heard of their buy one get one free special. I was not impressed. the place was completely dead when we drove up. there was one person working the front(waiter, cashier, take out person) and one sushi chef. we ordered 4 rolls. the only thing I can remember of the rolls was that the deep fried ones seemed really under cooked. it was really weird, you could tell they were deep fried but thy weren’t brown and crispy. they were more yellow and soft. the other rolls, one of them was«the green monster» were also not good. I think if you want supermarket quality sushi for a cheaper price then ordering to-go would be a good deal here. I probably won’t be going back here.

For a sushi joint in the middle of the suburbs, it’s pretty good. It’s a somewhat large place in a strip center. Inside is pretty clean and not too kitschy, save for the sumo wrestlers painted on the walls. The sushi isn’t particularly fresh or amazing, but given the location, a suburb in north Plano, it’s good. I got the chirashi sushi since it’s basically the sampler plate for sushi. The selection of fish was disappointing. Salmon, tuna and what I think was white tuna. Not even a shrimp or some roe egg. Comes with a bowl of miso soup and salad that consists of entirely chopped iceberg lettuce with some sort of creamy dressing with hints of ginger. Really it’s a 3/5, but to get anything better you’d have to drive a long way, so it gets a 4⁄5.

The sushi is alright but does not stand out as particularly fresh. Today we had the rainbow roll, swamp thing, and baked cod fillet bento; I didn’t really enjoy the rainbow roll, but the baked cod was pretty good. It’s a great deal with the lunch special(BOGO!), but I’d recommend sticking to cooked rolls(e.g., scallop volcano. I’ve had that a few years ago, and I remember it being satisfying).

BOGO sounded really good. After several tries, I think I’m done with this place. There is a reason why they could go happy hour during lunch hours

Great casual sushi place. Service is questionable. The older slightly taller asian lady is SoOooo Slow. Like wait 10 minutes to see if you’d like something to drink… that’s the only negative. Everything I’ve every had has been great. I love their volcano roll, its not quite as spicy as other places but in a good way where you can actually taste the seafood. And their unagi roll has just the right amount of sweetness in the sauce. Stuffed Jalapenos are really good too. Great for casual not too expensive dinner and even cheaper buy 1 get 1 free lunch.

So fresh! Happy hour during the week from 11 – 6, buy one get one free sushi and sashimi. And it’s BYOB! Pretty awesome. The staff is friendly but the service is sub par… which my friend said is common in Asian culture. If you’re in a rush I don’t really suggest eating here, but we were in and out in 1.5 hours(we ordered a LOT of food). Also the place was pretty empty around 1pm so there was no problem getting a table. Worth the drive from Dallas, for sure.
