This place is terrible. For the people giving it a good rating either know the owner’s or have know idea what good breakfast is. Terrible food and terrible service

Best clam cakes I have had in a while — the Natalie burger is wonderful. I haven’t ordered one thing from them that I didn’t like!

This is a classic diner. Turns 80 years same owners same name. Food is great. If you like a classic look and food. You gotta add this to your to do list

Best spinach benedict I have ever had. The eggs were perfectly soft-boiled and the hollondaise sauce was perfection. And the grilled blueberry muffin takes me back to diner trips with my family when I was a kid. And the prices can’t be beat.

Amazing diner. Small family owned place. As an out of owner stopped by for breakfast and was well impressed by the quality of food I received. Very clean nostalgic setting. Friendly service. I highly recommend this as a breakfast stop if your in the area.

Came here after a round of golf down the street with my friend. We each got burgers and they were very average. Nothing stood out and it’s never going to be something that I crave. The service is what gets them the extra star. So friendly and nice. Very attentive and treated us well. Seems like a nice little place and if I’m in the area I’d go back, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

This place is great. Typical diner atmosphere. I had the eggs Benedict with bacon. Wife had a build your own omelette both were very good. The Hollandaise sauce was delicious. I think we’ve found our new go to place. Thanks for great food and service.

I remember coming here as a kid growing up, and always associated this place with my youth. I recently came back mostly due to nostalgia but was pleasantly surprised that the food was even better than I remembered. Everything is prepared wonderfully and the waitress staff is contagiously friendly. I wish I lived closer because it’s hard to find such a great breakfast place with great food, great value, and great service.

I’m talking Don’s Diner: Exactly what you want in a diner! Clean, Quick & Friendly with a large variety of decent comfort food. This family owned establishment is run with pride and has earned my repeat business. Scrambled eggs were light not greasy, home fries crisp and hearty. .The coffee is large, strong and flows readily. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

I wish I could give this place two separate ratings. Don’s Diner: pretty good old school breakfast diner. Food is good, prices are fair, service is quick. Exactly what you’d expect from a traincar diner that has been open for many years. Norm’s Seafood: AWFUL. Went in there last saturday night and was one of only two tables occupied. It still took a while to get any service. My wife ordered pot pie and got what was really a $ 1.50 mini frozen pot pie from the grocery store. They didn’t even hide the paper pie plate from the store. I had a fish and chips that was terrible. The fish was old and my fries ranged from burned to not cooked at all. Yes, some of the fries were actually uncooked. Don’s Diner is cool and you’ll be satisfied. They need to get Norm’s Seafood out of there, though, because Norm’s Seafood is wrecking their reputation.

We really liked Don’s Diner. It’s a very unassuming local’s place but has good food and friendly /fast service. We enjoyed our breakfast, I has eggs with hash browns, ham, etc. and my wife had the breakfast sandwich with coffee. Simple, yes, but it was fast, hot, and yummy. I like choices, so the fact that they offer hash browns(yay!) or home fries(boo!), and V-8(yay!) or tomato juice(boo!) is perfect because my wife enjoys the opposite so we were both happy.

This review is for the night version of this location which is Norm’s by night. I don’t know if its two different owners splitting the restaurant time and space or what but that’s the sign outside. Went here on a Friday at about 8:30, we were told to sit anywhere which we did. Not very busy at all, less than half the capacity. There was 4 people working as wait staff, at least supposed to be. 2 of them did look my way but never came over, I swear it almost seemed like they didn’t want to do anything. We got up after a little over 10 minutes of NO service and walked out. No one seemed to care. I know Plainville is a sleepy small town but wake the F*** Up! Don shouldn’t be very happy with Norm.

Awesome breakfast, great service, awesome for kids and families. Saturday mornings are much quieter than Sundays, but this place is a staple at our house!

Get the hash! I could eat buckets of it from here! I thought I didn’t like hash until I had homemade hash from this place. The eggs Benedict was delicious and perfectly done, with a heavenly hollandaise sauce. The pancakes were light and fluffy. I am sold on this diner. Look at my reviews — I don’t give many fives!

Loved it, loved it, loved it! The décor was nautical and 50’s inspired at the same time. I love vintage places like this. The first thing I noticed when we sat down were the menus. They added fun information about the restaurant as well as the history of the town. The diner was also decorated with old pictures of the diner and town with stories beneath each one. We ordered breakfast and the food was great, exactly how I like it. I loved the homefries so much I tried to take some off my boyfriend’s plate. Our waitress was also very friendly and very personable. I would definitely come here again, this is a hit on my list of breakfast places!

Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! Always fresh, always hot, and always a full cup! We discovered Don’s because our intended breakfast destination was packed. Don’s is a gem hidden in plain sight — it’s on the main road, but if you blink, you’ll miss it. I’ve driven by it dozens of times before today. My advice — don’t blink! Offerings were typical diner fare, with imaginative and creative specials on the white boards hanging from the ceiling. Our server was cheerful and very helpful, and made us feel very welcome. While we browsed the menu, three of the biggest, most delicious-looking pancakes I’ve ever seen walk by, but instead, we both ordered the same omelet(meat lover’s), though I ordered mine with cheese. While we waited for our meal, we could solve Mindtrap puzzles stored in a Spam can on our table… nice touch and a great way to pass the time — with your partner, and NOT with your smartphone! When our food arrived, each omelet arrived on a plate laden with home fries or hash browns, and warm, crusty toast. My girlfriend raved about the raisin toast, and I loved the grilled Portuguese sweet roll. We shared a perfectly seasoned side dish of corned beef hash to round out breakfast. My moment of Zen? When I asked for some hot sauce, our server listed four(!) choices, including Cholula! Made me a very happy camper, and we left with VERY full bellies. Can’t wait to go back to Don’s! They’re open every day but Monday… get there as soon as you can!
