Tuffy Tire & Auto Service Center

Two years later and i’m still, and will always be, a loyal to this awesome team of people! Just posted this on google and wanted to share here on Unilocal:
«Well over ten years experience with this shop and couldn’t be happier. Tim and his staff are ALWAYS professional and answer all of my questions — even when I’m clearly in need of extra explanation that would frustrate most. This month our truck needed repairs. Thinking it was not major, we let ourselves be swayed by a friend to have someone they know look at it — ONLY because we drive almost 45 minutes to get to Tuffy and the distance can get frustrating. (This will NEVER happen again.)
When the guy told us it was going to be a major repair we ran it to Tuffy as quickly as we could. With my tail between my legs, and feeling incredibly guilty for having anyone else look at it to begin with, we left it with Tim and waited for the call. The repairs were pretty large. He did the entire repair for a very reasonable rate and got us tires at a great price, too. Tuffy’s pattern of quality business and professionalism proved true yet again.
You can’t put a value on being able to trust your mechanic. Their work means our safety. Tim and his staff know this — and continuously make the decision not to use that truth to extort people. There is never any unexplained or unnecessary repair work suggested or done. There has never been a service provided that hasn’t been approved first. They have always been nothing but FABULOUS in every way.
Through the years we may have spent enough to put a few children through college :), but in the end it has always been money well spent on NECESSARY quality service and wonderful people. Driving 40 minutes for an oil change is nothing when you look at the damage that can be done by trying to save some time with someone closer! Loyal for life! Thanks so much Tim and staff — you guys are great! Corporate Tuffy should be proud to have you represent them!»

This has to be the best customer service and communication I have ever experienced at a servie center. Tim and John and the rest of the gang have a customer for life. These guys are the real deal and do whats right at all times. I dont even live near by but will make the drive to go there always. GREAT JOB GUYS YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

We live in Des Plaines and my wife was visiting her mom in Shorewood when she got a flat. I felt helpless when she called me since I was at work up in Lake Zurich. I called a few places around the area and received the run around «Can’t help you.» or «$ 100 tow but will take a couple hours.» Finally one place referred me to Tuffy’s and that was the best thing that could happen. Talked to a nice guy named Nick and he offered to go put the spare on my wife’s car for free! I was like, what’s the catch? He said nothing. Up to her if she wants to bring it back to the shop and get a new tire or take it back to your own mechanic. Needless to say I made sure my wife gave him a nice tip and have let my mother-​in-​law know that is the place to take her car for now on. Great service Tuffy’s! Way to show that everyone isn’t just out for a buck and you genuinely care about your customers/​community. If you take this much care into someone who isn’t a local, I can only imagine how great your service is for your customers. Class act!

We have been seeing Tim at Tuffy for years. He truly cares about his customers. We’ve had it all done from oil changes, to brake jobs, to tire rotations. Everything is always done correctly and explained well. You want to be able to TRUST your mechanic, and I trust Tim. If he says it needs to be done, it does. Prices are comparable to others — the peace of mind knowing our cars and in good shape is the most important part.

I dislike this place because they always seem really busy. Good for them but they don’t do a good job throughly inspecting your car. Oil change, wam bam thank you come again. Unless you ask to look at something specific they just do the minimum.
