Best pizza in North Plainfield. I’m pretty sure I orer from here at like once a week. Their chicken fettuccini is amazing! ITs BYOB so its cool to just walk down a block grab a bottle of wine from the liquor store and relax in quiet spot with some GOODFOOD and friends. The owner Pepe is cool too really nice people.

We’ve been going to Pepe’s for years and years and years. A family-run neighborhood place in the best sense of the word. Everything we have eaten is always consistently good. Whatever you like in Italian food, they do it well. Excellent pizza, soups, and sandwiches. Tons of specials. Great pasta. Terrific for takeout, as well. Not a single mistake EVER with all of the orders over the years… Really nice family, and they run a very friendly restaurant. As a local place, you usually run into someone you know. Pepe’s is a terrific restaurant… BYOB, cash only, by the way.

Food was great but the waitress was obnoxious. She got very impatient when we were slow to order and seemed wanted to rush us out of the door. She threw the check onto our table while we were still working on the last dish and without us asking for it.

I’m completely hooked on this place. They are for sure the best homemade Italian meals in the area. I’ve had several pasta dishes and several chicken dishes and they are all amazing. I’m so glad I just discovered this place even though I’ve been living in North Plainfield for 12 years!

I live locally, and have heard some good things about Pepe’s. So my wife and I give a Sunday dinner a try. We ordered fried calamari, an order of mussels marinara w/medium sauce. For dinner its shrimp scampi and penne ala vodka. Mussels come out cold with a ladle of thick«raw» pasta sauce across the top… terrible! We each tried 2pcs. Yuck! Calamari was mediocre buy it in the freezer section breaded rings… sauce-bland. Shrimp scampi…6 decent sized pieces of shrimp in a yellowy water! No chopped garlic, no fresh herbs… in fact no fresh ingredients in any of the cooking!!! My penne w/chicken…overwhelmingly tasted like ragu and some heavy cream and flour. Disgusting and I so wanted to like this place. Maybe Pepe passed away and took the recipes with him! Avoid this 1 star is the small side salad they couldnt screw up.

This is, by far, my FAVORITE pizza place in the area! We discovered it one day when we were looking for a better pizza place for work. It’s our jam — we love the people who own it too, they are always so sweet!

Mmmm. Tried this place with a few friends and it was pretty tasty. Started off with some warm, fresh bread which was delicious. Perfectly crusted on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I ordered the eggplant rollatini which came with a side salad and was yummy too. The place has ample seating and didn’t feel too cramped. Street parking. Overall casual, friendly atmosphere

Very good food for very reasonable prices. I have been going to this place for over 25 years and not much has changed. Pepe makes the pizza, his wife runs the kitchen, and his daughter runs the counter. I have never had a bad meal here. Everything is made fresh. My favorite is the chicken scarparelli. The warm fresh rolls that precede the meal are awesome. The people that work there, the comfortable atmosphere, and the food, make this place one of my favorites.

What can I say… homemade Italian. Family owned. Go there on the weekend to see all the locals. BYOB. I never really experienced this type of cooking until I moved to nj. Best dishes… they are all good, but our favorites are: eggplant parm, meats balls with sausage and peppers and anything in their red sauce. The pizza is all good and we get take out all the time. Great for kids… ask Pepe(yes, there really is a Pepe!) for some pizza dough for the kids to play with while waiting on dinner. This is not a fancy high end type of place. Plastic table cloths and fake flowers — you will love it’s charm. It is a place for friends and family, great conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is a small eatery with very good Italian food and pizza as well. Ambiance is cozy and the place is a cut above just a regular pizzeria. Had the minestrone soup, the house salad and a chicken dish, all of which were very good, with an excellent homemade taste. They make their own«pizza» bread, which is excellent. Have not had the pizza yet, so can’t comment on it. Prices are very reasonable, and the service is efficient. This is a BYOB establishment.
