The food is really good here. I was a fan of the Lone Star in Channahon and now the night cook is at Larry’s! This will only make the restaurant better. Can’t wait to go back.

Went there the other day for breakfast. How can you not do a decent breakfast? Well look no further. Had some breakfast special that was eggs, hash browns, bacon and ham. The ham mixed in was microscopic and the bacon was gross. It was basically a plate of hash browns saturated in eggs. The restaurant itself is a dump. To top it all off, the waitress gave me the wrong bill.

This place has a great«mom and dad» diner feel to it. I would give it five stars but the manager was unfriendly and only cared about the money. Denise the waitress was awesome. The moment my partner and I sat down we were treated with a smile and jokes. She was great. We came in for a late breakfast. I had the Waffle Combo(waffle, eggs and sausage links) and an ice tea. All were great and again the service from Denise made it awesome. Can’t really review what my partner had b/c he had coffee and fruits(I can say it looked fresh). All in all, Denise made our experience great. I would go back only if she waited on us.

Salad was good but the roast lamb was a salt bomb that was not worthy of being served. Service was ok. A little too pricy for the quality of food.

Worst food I have ever had in a Resturant and a lot of the workers smoke so everything smells and got sick eating there also

Treated mom to breakfast. She had the vegetarian omelet while I had the steak and eggs. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The wait staff were bright and friendly. Only problem was the coffee cups were dirty. Luckily, we don’t drink coffee! ;-)

I just stopped at Larry’s Diner on my way to work. I ordered an Italian Skillet with SWISS exchanged out for the Mozzarella. Upon arriving to work(about 25 mins later) I opened up the food to find out that there were huge chunks of cheddar cheese inside the skillet, and no Swiss to be found. The eggs which I ordered sunny side up, came completely cooked on both sides to where the egg was not liquid at all, just a cooked dry hunk of yolk. I called back to talk with the manager and was told that I would need to call back later as he was out and wouldn’t be in until«Later». I asked whom if anyone should I make my complaint to about the order. She said and I quote«I am the manager right now, what was your problem». I said, I came in and waited for a to go order, to which she interrupted and read off my entire order line by line, and then basically scolded me saying«ANDWHATSTHEPROBLEM???» I calmly explained the issue that the order was made incorrectly, and she said«SIR, I AMINTHEMIDDLEOFLUNCH, IFYOUWANTTOCOMEBACKHERERIGHTNOWILLMAKEYOU A NEWSKILLET, BUTIMNOTDOINGANYTHINGFORYOUOVERTHEPHONE. I replied to her that I already told her that I was on my way to work and there was no way I could possibly come back. I asked if she would be able to make a skillet after 5, to which she replied«YEP» and then hung up on me. TLDR: Terrible Terrible Terrible first impression, food was made wrong, service was horrible and the customer service was atrocious. I would never recommend going here ever, place looks horrible as well, and the bathroom smelled like a truck stop. Its one thing to make a mistake, its entirely another to make your customer feel like shit for calling to complain about it. NOTHANKS Larry’s DINER… ILLPASS!!!

Old time diner that looks a little worn, but the breakfast is fresh and fast and the service is ultra friendly. I had the strip steak and eggs and it was good! Our server Alecia is friendly and extremely entertaining. There is a nicer looking breakfast restaurant across the street, but we really enjoyed the food and service here. They could use a renovation, but it definitely has character! The omelettes were heavy on the cheese. Just ask for less cheese if that matters to you.

I have been coming to this place since I was 5 years old– the food is great! And huge portions– gyro platter– breakfast and the cream of chicken rice soup is amazing!!! Very clean and welcoming!

there is a fine line between being a «dive» and being a «dump» Larry’s is a DUMP!!! food took forever and tasted like dish soap. There is nothing inviting about this place unless you’re a horror movie fan and want to pretend you are in the latest Rob Zombie film. So my food literally had dish soap in it. After gagging at the table and fighting off the need to vomit, Larry took a nibble of my food from my plate and wondered what was wrong with it. This place provided me with the worse dining experience of my life(and I ate sushi from a gas station in Mississippi).

My husband and I went here one night for a quick bite. I don’t have a problem with little diners; sometimes they have the best food. Well, what a mistake this was. My husband got the veal parmigiana and I got the cheeseburger. The lettuce they gave me for my cheeseburger was brown and wilted so I asked the waitress for a fresh piece. She took my entire plate back to the kitchen before I could say anything. I’m not sure why she needed my entire plate for a fresh piece of lettuce. My husband’s food had a layer of grease floating on top and so much cheese on it that it appeared the chef(if that’s what you want to call him))was trying to cover something up. He ate half of his food and I ate about a quarter of mine. My hamburger meat tasted weird. I think it was old. The fries were frozen so they tasted fine. My husband’s dinner came with a dessert. He ordered the sherbet and took one look at it and almost gagged. The sherbet had a dull color and slime on it. My son had the chicken strips. They weren’t anything special and he barely finished them. The owner asked us how the food was. We were honest with our response. Instead of addressing the issue she used my son as a decoy and offered him a lollipop. We barely made it home and my husband vomited up several times. I felt so bad for him. WEWILLNOTBEBACK… EVER. I will also tell all of my friends who live in the area to avoid this place. Update: i called the county health department on this place. I was told that an inspector would be sent to the establishment. The woman on the phone took my name and number. They never got back to me and Larry’s Diner is still open! Buyer BEWARE!

I like dive bars… not dive restaurants! This place has OK food. Nothing special that you can’t find at every greasy spoon in the U.S. But for me, the place was just dirty and unkempt. If they let the front of the house get that run down… how does the kitchen look? I will probably not return unless forced to!

My husband is a big breakfast guy and LOVES the meat lovers skillet here. I tagged along(though I don’t really like breakfast food in general) and ordered a chicken wrap. Portions are very large and prices are right, but it wasn’t anything spectacular. I will say the place seemed a little dingy and dark.

This place isn’t flashy, modern, all that comfy, or relaxing. But hell if they don’t make a damn good breakfast! And I must warn you that you better come here starving because you will definitely leave here stuffed to the gills! Our waitress meant business. No small talk for this old school lady. She was very fast, took all of our orders quickly and accurately, kept the coffee coming on a regular basis and appeased the children in my group with crayons, a work sheet and paper to color. I ordered the Italian Skillet. Basically, it’s everything that is on top of a special pizza over hash browns, a ton of mozzarella cheese, and a large helping of eggs on top. It also comes with toast or pancakes. I ordered the Texas toast. The toast alone was so thick and chewy that the toast alone could have appeased my appetite. But I came to gorge and gorge I did. The food is excellent. I don’t know who their short order cook is, but that person knows how to get it done and get it done fast. I’d definitely come back next time I visit that area. Side Note, my group got there at 10:30 and the table of 6 guys next to us ordered beer with their breakfast. Yeah so they sever liquor here too. LOL

If I could put zero stars I would! GROSS! This place is nasty!!! You enter under a canopy and the place is DIRTY. Food selections are awful. The rolls could have been bowling balls they were that hard. The salt and peper shakers were filthy! The bathrooms do not lock and are universal! What is that? My husbands french dip was like shoe leather and my pork tenderlois was swimming in solidified gravy. The only good thing was the soup. Our server had bad teeth and the booths are worn so bad everytime the person behind me moved my seat rocked! We are new to area and will NOT go back. Stay away. Do not waste your money!

I love going here for breakfast. It is a small hometown diner but has more than just the usual menu options. It has a ton of skillets which the gypsy is my fav. Also the staff is always so friendly! As far as small hometown diners go. This is one of my favs!

I am glad I went back to try out their breakfast again. There wasn’t any wait on a Sunday morning and we were seated in a large booth. I ordered the TAB omelet which is Tomato, Avocado, and Bacon. The server came back and informed me they were out of avocado(totally bummed me out) but I substituted spinach instead. All four of us at the table asked for our hash browns crispy/well done, and we were happy when they actually arrived on our plates the way we wanted. Too often breakfast places give you limp, pasty white hash browns. I would go back for breakfast again.

Pretty decent diner type food. The service is always great and the menu is extensive. I’ve never had a bad meal here. It is what it is and it is a diner. :) The interior is not appealing but if you can get past it then youre good. Portions are huge and the food is ok.

My experience echos many others here. Driven past many times and finally stopped in to give this place a try. Staff was very friendly. Maybe 5 – 7 customers at dinner time on a Friday night. We ordered the Patty Melt and Gyros and both were decent simple orders so not bad. But i must say though, this is a pretty dated interior that is not very appetizing. It resembles a creepy nursing home. There are better choices in the area.
