Hawk Gertrude Chocolates

Lost us as a customer. — Yes, I loved their chocolates but they lost us as a customer forever. My husband takes the hour drive to/​fro Gertrude Hawks every Valentine’s Day. This past Friday, after not finding the hours on their website, he phoned at 7:30a expecting to get a voicemail with hours. Instead, the owner/​manager/​whomever picks up the phone and rudely says, «What!» My husband apologizes thinking he must have accidentally mis-​dialed. The person on the line says that it was the store but demanded to know why he was calling so early and what was wrong with him. Seriously? What happened to common courtesy… especially in a sales role? Oh well… the chocolates not good enough to be treated rudely. Maybe it’s time for them to retire.

Amazing wedding favors!!! We purchased their fudge and had them package it for us. The pieces were generous and the packaging was perfect! The staff couldn’t be more helpful when we came in looking for ideas on wedding favors. If I could review them on Theknot or WeddingWire I would but I figured I wanted to give them a 5 Star Review somewhere! We loved it and we will always come to this location for our chocolate needs

Love the selection, always clean, inviting and fresh delicousness available. Love the clearance section in the back. It always keeps me coming back even off holiday. Chocolate is chocolate, out of season santa or not… and OMG the candy apples are amazing! plus they always have something cute to pick up for my nieces that are colorful and make more impact than a bag of candy. They also carry some cute lollipops and such what not

Great location with friendly staff. Lots of selection and always a ton of things on sale! Free samples :-). They make chocolate covered strawberries fresh to order as well as apples, potato chips, etc. There is plenty of free parking.
