Hanks is a local favorite, the food is good, a little pricey, the menu is difficult to understand what is what (needs some descriptions) nice place with good food, check it out it’s worth it

Hank’s is very popular with us locals but sadly — I’ve had better elsewhere. (This is me pointing to the Snack Shack in Moosup… see it over there? 2 exits up I-​395.)
The clam cakes are fried, but soft to the tooth and the batter is somewhat sweet and yet peppery at the same time. Minimal, tiny clams. It was odd and not what I expected as I like that crunchy feel to my clam cakes.
Burgers are average and the Hankburger apparently doesn’t have anything exciting on it at all. I’m unsure if the young lady taking the order forgot to ask what we wanted on the Hankburger, but it came out plain. No lettuce/​tomato/​pickle/​mayo/​nothing. ZZZzzzzz…
There is a nice playground for kids that has been improved this year over past years. They also have live music that plays — so that is nice. But … the food. Meh.

My favorite place to eat! I always get so excited when they first open. Clam cakes, chowder, dog gone Wilde, and tacos are just a few of my favorites. Of course I have to get a slush puppy. The prices are pretty fair as well, just remember to bring cash!

Always loved this place! Best fish n chips around. Snack shack does not compare! Good ice cream, chowder, clam cakes, coleslaw. The list goes on. Yummy!

Love this place. It’s good EVERY time! Can enjoy your meal as take-​out, in your car, or at a picnic table. Kids can run around on the grass, swing at the swing set, or rude the parrot! I love their milkshakes & all the ice cream options (like the filling banana split!). The staff are always friendly & food is prepared to order in a timely manner. But be sure to bring cash! Otherwise you will be stuck paying the $ 3.00 ATM fee.

My kiddos always vote for Hank’s when we have kids choice dinner nights! The burgers are great, clam cakes delish, and we always end with ice cream cones.

Hank’s is the typical summer fried seafood and burger shack. The food was fine and the prices were reasonable. My only problem was that they only served soft serve ice cream; I was really looking for more variety of ice cream. Overall a solid summer stop, don’t forget your cash.

What a nice surprise. Had stopped in at store next to Hank’s and heard LIVE music playing at Hank’s. Hank’s offers good fresh food and LIVE music (see schedule). Yum for tummy and ears. Good: clam cakes and fries and plenty of lobster in roll. Cash only.

Excellent drive-​in type restaurant. Most of the food is very reasonably priced, and the burgers are downright cheap, especially for the quality. I had the 395 Pileup (cheeseburger with pickles, ketchup, with Cole slaw and fries right on the bun) which was awesome, and only $ 4. also had the clam cakes (fritters) and they were some of the most flavorful I’ve had. Recommended.

I have to totally agree with the above 2 posters. Hanks will always have a place in my heart and grumbling in my stomach ;-)
Clam Cakes, milk Shakes, Ice Cream cones with a cherry dip. Oh the good times of CT.
As I have traveled around I have yet to find a place like Hanks that tugs at my heartstrings. Maybe it’s the childhood memories of after the Farm system Baseball games heading to Hank’s to grab a Ice Cream, or the teen years of cruising threw Hanks thinking I was soo cool.
Whatever it was or is, there is no place that can replace Hank’s

Just like the Hotel, Hank’s will always have a place in my heart. I’ve known the owners my whole life… great people. The day this place ever closes I vow to wear nothing but black every day until the end of my life. This is THE place for lobster rolls, chowder and clam cakes and ice cream. You never leave Hanks in a bad mood, or hungry. The next time I visit my parents I’m so there!
