We visited Sunday 5⁄29. Good food. Great atmosphere… WORST service I ever had in any restaurant. The hosted seemed board, and looked bothered to show us to our table… and was ‘put out’ when I asked her where the restrooms were. Our waitress was on a double shift after only taking a 30 minute break in between her two shifts… she REALLY appeared to not want to be there, and her service completely reflected it. Will never go back to Claddagh’s Irish Pub in Plainfield again.

Came to this restaurant and had a great FIRST impression. Waiter was attentive and got our drinks out and appetizer out quickly. However, after we ordered our meals… The waiter stopped coming by, we didn’t get drink refills, and our food didn’t come out for OVERANHOUR. Once our food arrived, the waiter did not apologize or offer up an explanation. Very disappointed. Don’t come here unless you want to spend your whole evening waiting around for subpar food and subpar service.

The fish and chips with the sour cream dip is awesome! The portions are good as well as the service. I’ve been here a few times and each time the servers were pleasant and the food hot. I think the prices are a little high for some items but overall a good experience. I would recommend giving this location a try.

This Claddagh is conveniently located in the Perry Crossing outdoor mall which has undergone renovations, so much nicer! Claddagh is delicious, the cabbage rolls appetizer is my favorite. The have traditional Irish fare-corned beef and cabbage, etc… they have 2 fire places, nice in the winter time. They have outdoor seating too.

We love the atmosphere, the food(most of the time), & the beer, but LOATHE the service at the bar. I’m pretty sure that Annette’s personal goal in life is to provide the worst possible service ever. EVERY. TIME. Ex. 1– You have a sign at the bar that reads, $ 4 Guinness. At any other bar I might assume that this is the traditional Guinness stout. However, when you have 3 different Guinness on draft, maybe you should clarify. No big deal. Paid the extra & moved on. Ex. 2– My boyfriend is at the bar having drinks & he informs her that he has someone joining & they want the bread pudding. I show up & she brings out a To Go bag with cold bread pudding & all of the ingredients boxed separately. We explained to her that we never ordered this to go & we would like it for dine in. She takes it into the kitchen, slides it onto a plate, & brings it right back out. Thanks, Annette. Top notch service as always. Ex. 3– I order the goat cheese salad, add salmon. Out comes my goat cheese salad, no goat cheese, sub salmon. I asked where the goat cheese was & she replied, You said you wanted Salmon instead. Actually, Annette… nevermind. Just keep on doing you. Ex. 4– I show up to meet my boyfriend & a co-worker who have had several drinks at the bar & actually closed out before I arrived. Now, logically, even though they’ve closed out, I believe most bartenders would still approach the group when they see someone new arrive just to make sure they’re still good. Not Annette! After waiting 20 minutes for her to come over & ask me for my drink order, I finally stood up, walked over to where she was standing & providing her typical horrible service, & I finally ordered my drink & more drinks for the others. She’s consistent, anyway. I’ve got to give her that. I’d continue, but this is exhausting.

Great Irish Pub in Plainfield! Had their Claddagh burger and it was awesome. The pub fries were complimented by their Guinness dipping sauce. Glad I stopped here!

This was my third time to Claddagh, but the first time at this location. It’s decked out like the others with lots of dark wood and Irish memorabilia to give it that good, pub feel. There’s also a nice big bar, so plenty of opportunity to just hang out there if you’d like. But what brought us in was their Monday BOGO deal on fish n chips. Yep, that’s right — buy two drinks and one order of their tasty fried fish and get another fo’ free. Plus the service was attentive and they pour a good Guinness. What’s not to love?

I came here twice and wasn’t thrilled with the meals thI purchased. The first was shepherd’s pie and the next was the cod fish. I did enjoy the shamrock wings and the salmon. Very nice atmosphere and the staff has great customer service.

We had a nice lunch today. Meghan had the shepherds pie and it came out looking good, but it wasn’t her favorite. I had a chicken sandwich that was just alright. Our server Jacob was nice and kept up well with my excessive sweet tea drinking. He gets 5 stars, the food just wasn’t quite there for us.

Claddagh Irish Pub is truly«A-OK» for what it is… which is a chain restaurant trying to disguise itself as a neighborhood pub. I’ve been coming here to meet friends off & on for years, and it has been consistent for the most part. One lack of consistency is in the waitstaff, sometimes the service is bad, sometimes you might get a decent server. It’s hit or miss. I’m still saddened that Claddagh made the decision to remove Strongbow(i.e. real Strongbow, not the gross American versions) from the draft list. It has been replaced with Magners, which I’m not a fan of. The Guinness is consistently decent at Claddagh, which isn’t necessarily the case in the Indy area. The food is «ok,» but nothing exceptional. They switched up their menu awhile back, but there weren’t any earth-shattering changes. The Guinness soup is still ok, but it’s now served in an awkward square bowl which makes it more difficult to eat. The fish & chips(think a whole side of cod), are still a good deal on «B1G1 Free Fish & Chips Mondays,» but unfortunately this now requires a purchase of a drink(which I don’t technically mind, but when you are each purchasing a soup or appetizer too, that is more than a soda/tea, that doesn’t make sense. but I digress). Overall, Claddagh is ok. I’m glad it’s there as a back-up…but I still yearn for an authentic pub in Plainfield with good food… instead of the Olive Garden version of an Irish Pub. At least it’s not a Tilted Kilt.

Just ate here this evening and can’t stress enough how underwhelming the food is here. While I understand this is «pub» food, the fact that Caddagh Irish Pub is called a restaurant is completely misleading. I ordered a spinach salad with salmon and a balsamic«vinaigrette» for my dinner. The salad was ALL spinach– like a whole bag’s worth of fresh spinach. My salmon was well cooked, but had no seasoning. The dressing– if you can call it that– was more like a paste. I have a major issue with a vinaigrette that is not a vinegar-type based dressing. It just was… Off? The speed of service was atrocious. I’m sure the bar is good on the weekends, but calling this a restaurant is a joke. I just don’t understand how they can called what I was served a salad.

Any time I find a place that offers the oh so not good for you but devilishly delicious Monty Christo sandwich I have to go there. Fresh Guinness like I would get in Dublin at St. James gate. Locals recommend the fish and chips, but I was determined to have my «SAMICH»! I was not disappointed, and look forward to the next opportunity to visit.

Continuing my exposure therapy beyond the confines of my own backyard, my friend that treated me to ice cream last night suggested we make a stop here next. I had noticed this Claddagh last winter when I ventured to Barnes and Noble next door and had been curious about it ever since. Upon arriving, there was a group of people on the patio out back near where we parked listening to a live musician that was singing & playing guitar. We walked around front and took a seat at two stools at the bar. The bar is HUGE and gorgeous with lots of dark wood and a copper bar top, albeit a bit awkward in spots where an occasional stool is kind of stuck behind a pillar or your feet meet the end of a foot rail in the middle. Or your drink or salt shaker hits a bouncy seam in the copper top. But once some patrons cleared out, we were able to scoot our stools down a bit and have a more comfortable view. My friend also noticed the handy purse hooks underneath. Definite plus for me so I don’t have to set my huge purse that is bordering luggage on my lap. We were greeted right away by one of the most friendly and professional bartenders by which I have ever had the fortune of being waited on named Michelle. She promptly brought us our draft beers, mine being a glass of the Harp. That caught my eye among the large selection as soon as I took my seat. I had not had one in years and it made me very happy. It was even in a beautiful glass that said«Harp» to match. Nice touch! While they had a lot of «fancy» beers I would love to sample, they also had Miller Lite on draft for my friend that likes to keep it simple. Michelle was also patient as we looked over the food menu and took our time deciding on an appetizer. Hopefully I don’t get too much judgement for it, but we shared the Loaded Chips sans bacon. A little small at nearly ten dollars, but a good snack for two. The cheese sauce tasted a bit different, but I almost never eat cheese anymore so I believe it was just me. And we detected horseradish in the sauce on the side which was interesting and good. Nothing about it was like«WOW!» but above decent. I could settle for just a big plate of their chips next time perhaps. Michelle made sure we had plates and silverware that came rolled in black linen napkins as well as salt and pepper. Very attentive without hovering. Just perfect service. Surely not dairy-free either, but the fried pickles sounded good, as well as many items that I would have loved to try once upon a time, like the Guinness French Onion Soup and Fish & Chips. My friend vouched that the chicken on the menu is good from a previous visit and also wondered why there was no Shepherd’s Pie available from what we could see. They did have another traditional Irish Pub food, Scottish Eggs. I also saw they have a veggie burger. They do have quite a selection while not being a gigantic overwhelming menu. Apparently a chain, but a very beautiful one. I wouldn’t have guessed it wasn’t a one-of-a-kind without being told. I almost forgot I was in an outdoor mall in Plainfield, Indiana. Great beer and liquor selection. The atmosphere tempted me to have some Jameson or try the Johnnie Walker Blue, but didn’t want to over do it. Claddagh wasn’t crowded, but had about a dozen customers at any given time. I assume some started earlier than we did and left once the music outside was over. The music playing inside was unique, but a little too downtempo, if you will. I had expected maybe some upbeat traditional Irish music or even The Cranberries, but I suppose that might get old after awhile or be a little cheesy. There were nice televisions at the bar and UFC was on. Not something I set out to watch, but once I was, I was disappointed that I didn’t pay attention to who had won one of the fights that seemed intense and bloody. At some point, we went out to the back patio, now empty, to have a cigarette. Employees were busy cleaning tables and it was nice that one told us to have a good night even though we weren’t leaving yet. A bit too warm for it, but the lit fire pit was so inviting as well as all of the nice seating out there. Making a mental note to come back during the fall. Restroom was as stunning to me as the rest of the building and spotlessly clean. Claddagh has so much space and so many different spots to sit that I could imagine it being a bit crazy to work here when at full capacity, but it was pretty laid back on my visit. I have yet to fulfill my longtime dream of visiting Ireland, but whomever designed this place sure made me feel close to how I would imagine the real thing across the pond. Claddagh has all the appearances of upscale, but made me feel welcome to come as I am in my flip flops, capri pants and t-shirt. A unique and enjoyable experience that I would like to repeat.

Ordered the scotch eggs and gaelic chicken. The eggs inside the scotch eggs was cold, the chicken was undercooked!!! It was covered in gaelic sauce so I didn’t notice it right away. Matthew the server was excellent, too bad the food is disgusting.

We came in here around 10 pm on a Saturday night to grab a drink after a movie. There were only a hand full of people inside the place and after being served by the bartender I understood why. I ordered an Irish mule and my sister ordered a Moscow mule. Both drinks were super weak and overly sweet. I could of looked past this faux pas in light of the fact that the drinks were only $ 6 a pop, however the bartender gave us such bad service we didn’t stay long enough to see her attempt at making another drink. We couldn’t understand why she never returned to see if we would like another round, we couldn’t even see her to wave her down. Finally we called it quits and sadly went home after one drink. It’s too bad the bartender was so crappy because this place had a great ambiance and they even had live music which was actually pretty kick ass. Drinks were cheap too. I don’t care how cheap drinks are though, I will never go back to a place where I have to beg to get service.

Corned Beef & Cabbage Rolls: Corned beef, shredded cabbage, diced potatoes, mozzarella and provolone cheese in a fried wonton — the house made remoulade sauce takes it over the top This is a delicious app making you want more — I could make a meal of these Irish Car Bomb Cheesecake: Guinness brownie topped with bailey’s cheesecake and fresh infused jameson cream This dessert melted in our mouths — You could taste the hint of Baileys — the hint of jameson — we wanted more more more We will definitely order the Corned Beef & Cabbage Rolls and the Car Bomb Cheesecake again! The Gaelic Chicken: seasoned chicken breasts on a bed of mashed potatoes drizzled with rosemary infused Irish whiskey sauce — was very good — not something we would order again just because we are not gravy people but it was good It had an Interesting smoky flavor which we were not sure if we liked. Restaurant is dark, so hard to get good picture. Live band playing old songs. Pleasant atmosphere Great service

I have been here a few times now and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere every time. I love the baked goat cheese salad and it’s my go to choice. Today, I decided to order take out and got the salad. The person who answered the phone told me they have a limited menu after I told her I would like to order the baked goat cheese salad. I’ve never heard of this before so I don’t know if this is a common thing for take out. She told me that instead of having a baked goat cheese ball, the salad will have crumbled goat cheese instead. That was disappointing. I love the goat cheese ball and that is the thing that makes the salad! So it makes no sense to me why they would sell a salad where the signature item is not included but switched out for a different version of it. Anyways, I was really craving the salad so I agreed to it. How bad could it be right? It still have goat cheese, thank god. So I went to go pick it up from the bar. I stood right in front and center of the bar but no one came to help me. I actually caught eye contact with 3 bartenders but no one seemed to wanted to help me. The bar wasn’t super busy but it wasn’t slow either. So I don’t understand why none of them had the decency to do their job. So after a few minutes, I moved to a different spot and was finally helped(I actually approached the bartender, I was not in the mood to wait for someone to help me since they showed me they weren’t in the mood to). Also, I’ve had them salad in 3 different variations. I’m not sure why they keep changing it up. This all happened within 3 months so that’s super weird. I’ve had sun dried tomatoes in my salad when it wasn’t included on the menu, the actual(or what I think is) true version of the salad, and the crumbled goat cheese version with chicken included. Not sure why the chicken is included. The menu does not include chicken on it. To sum it up, I really like this place but after experiencing some bad customer service. I don’t know if I want to return anytime soon. This has been a disappointing experience.

If I could give it 2.5 stars I would. My boyfriend and I came here for a spur of the moment drink on a Monday and the place was surprisingly busy. Turns out they have a two for one deal on the fish and chips. I had initially planned on only getting a drink and maybe an appetizer but instead we got the two for one fish and chips. The food came out quickly and piping hot. The portion sizes are definitely bountiful and we only had the half order! The fish was okay .not much flavor but then again it’s probably your run of the mill whitefish. The chips were good but I struggled to finish the meal! Fried food is not something I typically do so it doesn’t take long for it to become too heavy /too much for me. The side of coleslaw was a refreshing change from the monotone color of the main dish. All in all it was okay. but I left feeling stuffed and greasy lol. My Smithwicks was good though!

we went with a group of 12 people and only waited a short while to be seated. Service was a bit on the slow side, but friendly and accomodating. Since it was freezing cold outside I opted for the Hot Scotch, which is hot chocolate with Butterscotch Schnapps topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle… oh so good… truthfully there are quite a few hot adult beverage offered… the food pretty good. Their onion soup seems to be made with beer rather than wine and had what seemed to be purreed onions in it. Not bad, but nothing great either. I had the Gaelic chciken which was really delicious. The chicken breast was tender and juicy with a nice delicate herb sauce. served over mashed potatoes and green beans. the bean could have used a few more minutes as they were basically raw.

It’s been a hot minute since my last visit to Claddagh. Yesterday I was looking for something different and I was very happy we stopped in. Much to my surprise Thursday’s are $ 2 bottles and it seems half price apps from 4PM-6PM. Who doesn’t love a deal? Claddagh very much as the feel of an actual Irish pub. I could have been back in Dublin! The space is pretty open and the bar is huge! When we took our seats we were greeted by the friendly staff and our drink orders were quickly taken. Of course because it was $ 2 bottle day I opted for a Heineken! When we were given menu’s I was surprised — in the past their menu has been clunky and overwhelming. Apparently a new menu was just released May 24! We found new items all over the place and way to many to try in a single sitting. We opted to try several new items on the appetizer side. A new and unique twist on baked brie — grilled brie! The smokey flavor adds a fantastic twist to a cheese that can at times taste dusty. The berry compote served along side added a sweet touch. This is a must try for anyone! The pretzels were decent. The beer cheese was a bit gritty but again, decent. The ginger shrimp were very tasty and HUGE! The problem with any fried item when it is tossed in sauce the breading becomes mushy — but I gladly overlooked this because the 7 shrimp here giant. Imagine a shrimp cocktail — that’s how big these shrimp were and oh so yummy. I’ve never had a terrible visit to Claddagh and now that I know there are some killer deals I’ll be stopping by more often.
