This portion of Glacier Ridge is my favorite, even though it’s a bit farther out of my way. I use both for bike rides. The other end is fine, but more flat. This end has some slight hills and more varied scenery. Many intersecting trails so you can vary the length(and of course ride over to the other section.) Easy access and parking. There’s even a hidden Porsche/VW/MG graveyard… There’s also a playground, bathrooms, disc golf course, riding trails, renewable energy site, etc. Wish it were a bit closer to me.

What’s interesting is each metro park has different landscapes though they are still within the Columbus area. Some have gently rolling wooded hills. Others have steep ridges. Glacier Ridge is one of the parks that are flat open fields with some wooded areas as well as marshes. The marshy area is separate and called the Honda Wetland Education Area. At the Honda Wetland Education Area there is a pavilion for educational activities as well as a viewing fort with binoculars to check out the many birds. Programs at Glacier Ridge focus much around the bird population, like a woodpecker hike, a birds of prey hike and a night hike looking for owls. At Glacier Ridge you can bike, horseback ride, and cross country ski. A paved black top path makes it easy to bike, jog, inline skate and hike. Pet trails are also available. There are also picnicking areas with playgrounds for the kids as well as shelters.
