For the residents of Mosquito, this clinic is a godsend! If you live in Mosquito, the next nearest clinic is easily 40 minutes away. My fellow volunteer and I used to have long debates who was driving the foster dogs in for their appointments before Pam Steinke opened this clinic. With that said, Vet of Mosquito is small, it is only a two-person operation and they don’t have an x-ray machine so you still have to spend the gas to get your pet x-rayed. But what they don’t have in amenities, they make up for in personalized service. I and a friend got a good 25 minute consultation on her dog’s hock, where not only did Dr. Steinke examine the patient, she pulled out her medical textbook, showed us what muscle and bone sets were concerned. She gave us several possibilites, told us the cheap way to go and the expensive and maybe more definitive way to go if we wanted answers ASAP. I have never gotten such good attention from a vet and being a long time pet owner and a board member of a dog rescue, I have seen dozens of vets. Her prices are also very reasonable(plus the savings on gas.)
