one of my favorite low key, good food, no drama places to go to in town… Spankys is easy to get in and out of and centrally located in town. The larger dining room has a juke box with great classic rock and country. Our standard meal is the two taco plate and large soda, which is just the perfect amount to fill you… Service is fast, personal and low key. it’s not intended to be fancy, just taste good and fill you up at a very good price…

Pizza is not great and the wings were fatty and soggy. The building is dilapidated… Skip this place. It’s not a charming little pizza place, it’s a run down joint.

Great pizza… good service… game room and full bar… will definitely be back. Looks family owned quality and attention to service is great. Interior is clean but looks like they have been here quite a while. Old school home town spot. Give them a shot you won’t be disappointed.

Little campy interior, but if you have a hankering for NY pizza, you can’t go work at Spankys.

Delicious pizza! Thin NY style just how I like:-) Not fancy in the slightest, but who needs fancy pizza? Not me! Just carry out and enjoy at home. The guys who work there are always friendly and helpful too.

Best pizza in placerville! as for the 2 star reviews? i don’t get it, by far better than any pizza within 50 miles .and for the comments saying it’s too greasy lol that’s like saying bacon is too salty or your bread has too much gluten in it, if you weren’t looking for greasy don’t order melted cheese. i always get my pizza to go but from standing inside it seems fine, it’s obviously an older building but that’s fine with me. take my advice and get your next pizza at spankys they never disappoint and their prices are also very fair

Guys I am from NY and NJ, this pizza is as close as Placerville can get to REAL pizza. I have been eating here for over a year and unfortunately in California instead of saying«I would like a large pie» I am forced to say«I want a large pizza well done extra thin cut into eight» but that’s ok because every time i get it here I actually enjoy my pizza. I want to fold it in half, i want that orange oil to drip out of my crust… that is what pizza is! Anyone who hates this place would cry on the east coast, its nicer than some of the places i have had the best pizza in my life. I don’t care what the wall paper looks like, i want good food and the bottom line is this places delivers that consistently. You want fine dining… this ain’t for that… you want a jumpin’ bar… go to a bar… you want good pizza… call and say«large pie well done cut into eight» fold it bite it and smile.

The first bar I’ve been to where 2 people required oxygen tanks. I was the youngest by a good 40 years. Positive– pizza pretty good. Can’t go wrong with Lagunitas Negative — ZERO atmosphere. looks like an upgraded garage built in the 50s

Dive atmosphere + greasy pizza = Spanky’s.

Quite a few months ago, I wrote a poor review about Spanky’s combo pizza. Well, that was then. Now, last weekend, I was hungry and decided to give it another shot. The pizza chef was a young Asian guy(is that OK to say now)? Super nice guy, and the pizza he made for us was nothing short of excellent. I wish I’d got his name because if they keep him one, Spanky’s will have a resurgence of customer-ship. Forget Round Table. If you live in the area, go to Spanky’s. They’re really good again.

This place is pretty bad. Don’t order any pizza because I have an upset stomach the entire day. The pizza was under cook. :/The place needs a remodel and food is just not good.

Not as bad as the others have reviewed. Service is good, not outstanding but, good. The mini arcade is okay. Games are slightly outdated. The pool tables are in good shape but leave little room to maneuver around and make those critical game winning(or losing) shots. I would give it a 4 star ratting but it needs to be bumped above a 2.5.

This place is borderline grotesque. The curiosity about how it has ever passed a health inspection is only rivaled by the lousy food and cranky customer service. First time I went was about a year ago. The sign on the front of the building said«New York Style Pizza», so for some reason, that’s what I was expecting. Instead, I got the greasy low-rent cardboard reminiscent of the dying chain Straw Hat. The man who took my order probably hasn’t smiled since the 80s and really hates being there. He takes this frustration out on the food. I came back a couple weeks ago for some odd reason. We’d crawled in from another bar across the street because I thought I’d take another crack at it. I happen to like dives. We got a pitcher of Lagunita’s IPA which ran $ 15. That’s a pretty normal price for that beer, but that’s what you usually pay in cleaner establishments. I order a patty melt and fries and we make our way to the empty and more family oriented room away from the bar, which seats a sports frenzied crowd of an exclusively male demographic. I begin eating my burger and notice 2 things, 1) although patty melts are supposed to be greasy, this thing might as well have been deep fried in week old grease, and 2) the patty wasn’t in anyway seasoned, basically tasting like bland trailer park frying pan meat. The french fries were the standard issue frozen to deep fry that you’d expect from an average pub. Sun was beating down on this side of the building and there were no fans running, so on top of having a barely edible pile of grease and salt in front of me, I was hot and uncomfortable. The only two good things I can say about this place is that there’s some decent video games in the basement, and they have Comcast SportsNet which means I could watch the Sharks games there if I were desperate. Any of the neighboring restaurants within a mile will do you better.

I forgot to fill out the additional information on this business, so I wanted to come back and do it. I will return to this restaurant.

The pizza was average. The place is by far the filthiest establishment I have ever had the misfortune to enter. The chair was actually stuck to the carpet when we tried to pull it out from the table. The tables looked too worn to even be given to good will. The soda was flat there was almost no sauce on the pizza and the crust was way too thick to be called New York Style Pizza will never go there again.

Don’t know about the Pizza. But the Hamburgers rock! Better than In and Out for sure! Quick service too.

For a fun sit-down meal this place is NOT the place to go. When i first walked in I found myself in a bar. After a few uncomfortable seconds I realized there was a passage from the bar into another teeny-tiny room where there was a beat up looking counter and hand-written menu posted on the wall. No one was there, and i contemplated leaving, but I had heard that the place had good pizza so I waited. A few minutes went buy and I ordered. Then I stood there for a few more uncomfortable seconds, wondering where to sit. There were only two very tiny tables in the room and they were both taken. Then, i realized there was yet ANOTHER passage to another room where there were more tables. I went in and sat down. There was a TV and it was on. A very strange show was on where people were doing challenges where they would have to eat something gross or experience something painful and no one was allowed to make any noise at all. It was the weirdest and most disgusting show I ever saw. I assume that is why no one was sitting in that room. Yeah. Luckily I had ordered the pizza to go. And it did turn out to be really good! Thus the three stars. The sauce was very peppery and unusual, but it was excellent! I would reccommend the pizza, but highly suggest requesting delivery!

Where do you go after a long day of rafting to beat the heat and good eats… Spankey’s pizza in Placerville. We rafted this weekend on the American river. The heat was soo oppressive that we could not take it any longer and we were starving! We drove to the nearest town to take on some food and a movie. As my friend stated… I’d pay $ 6.50 just for the air conditioning! Well the movies weren’t so great but getting back to the campsite and avoiding the meltdown was worth it. The veggie pizza was so decent I ate a whole one!
