Great hot and sour soup! Ask for General Shrimp if you want a DELICIOUS meal. Great service and very friendly even when they are packed! Prices very reasonable and food always fresh, fresh, fresh.

As always, best Chinese Restaurant in 4 counties. Been coming here for years, even to the point of making special trips from the Roseville area, and have never once been disappointed. Excellent food, fast and friendly service, and I don’t think the prices have changed in ages. Highly recommend this awesome place!

Went for lunch on a Saturday during the noon hour. Busy place with two servers who were really friendly and kind. Ordered the General Tso Chicken a la carte, wonton soup and veggie chow mien for take out. The General Tso Chicken was $ 9.95 and it was cooked perfectly and delicious! I loved that the sauce was not thickened with corn starch, it was obviously home made and had a flavor I cannot pinpoint, which I love because to me that means it had depth in the flavor. Also, it wasn’t too sweet or too spicy. I will order again. The wonton soup was $ 5.95 and had at least 15 wontons and lots of veggies. They were good wontons but not the best I have ever had. It def took care of the wonton craving though. The veggie chow mein was $ 5.95 and was a gianormous serving. Lots of noodles and a good variety of veggies. I only tasted it and it tasted bland to me but probably cause there was no meat. My husband spiced it up with my General Tso sauce, soy sauce and rooster sauce and he loved it. We will def go back and try more dishes. We are off to a good start!

I love this place. I ate there for years while I lived in Placerville. When I want good Chinese food I Drive from Sacramento to eat there. there is no place in Sacramento that’s as good as Hong Kong in. I love you guys The staff has always been extremely friendly, kind and if you’re there late and are the last people there they do not make you feel uncomfortable at all

BEWARE… FOODPOISONING!!! I probably frequent this place too much and have always given them the benefit of the doubt, BUT…, enough is enough. This is the second time I have had severe stomach cramping after eating here. I don’t think the food is rotten rather, they DONOTKNOWHOWTOHANDLEFOODPROPERLY and cross contaminate causing ILLNESS! Cooks need to LEARNHOWTOHANDLEFOODSAFELY!!!

2 Stars for service, although it was so quick we were not able to relax and enjoy our food. Potstickers were doughy and heavy. Chow Mein had oodles of noodles and not very many vegetables. Noodles, like potstickers were too heavy.

My family and I have gone here for lunch and dinner for years and we love it! Their food is great and lunch specials are cheap. I love their chicken chowmein and their general chicken! Service can be hit and miss sometimes but usually just when they’re busy which is understandable however they are generally always kind and get us in and out when we’re on a time limit(my moms lunch break) and that’s enough to keep us going back.

Tried to have lunch here yesterday and will never make that mistake again! I’m well aware that their food is good and their service is poor on their best day but when we walked in the woman at the register says«to go?» with an annoyed look on her face. We stop and ask what time they close and she says 4, it was 3:36. We turned around and walked out and then noticed the hours on the glass say till 9 on Saturday! If you don’t want my money fine, I’ll spend it elsewhere.

I haven’t been here since high school until last night. By the advice of several comments I ended up ordering sesame chicken, pork chow mein and lemon chicken. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. The chow mein was delicious and the sesame chicken was exceptional. They are definitely the best Chinese in Placerville area. It was well worth the drive to pick up to go. The woman who was at the register was very welcoming and helpful. Running a successful restaurant in that area has proven to be a task, they have done it the longest. And now I know why.

Boo. Golden Dragon is closed on Mondays. Egg rolls — the wrapper is more fitting for spring rolls. Very well seasoned, slightly greasy but tasty. Beef with onions and bell pepper — soft beef, great onions, veggies are cut chunky. Chicken chow mein — a little oily an under seasoned but I like noodles so… Pot stickers — good, slightly doughier than usual, dipping sauce is nice — should have more of a ginger kick. Wor wonton– good base for the soup, probably needs a little fixing, wontons are good. It has shrimps and bamboo(or at least I tasted bamboo) which BD doesn’t like. Efficient service, polite but not super friendly. Very quiet on a Monday when I picked up for to go.

Best Chinese in the Placerville vicinity. Their sesame chicken is so good and they have the best chow mein I think I’ve ever had. I love the hot and sour soup too, so goooood!

Food is good, & wait staff efficient. What drives me a little crazy is that no matter how early I call in a to go order, no matter what day of the week, they never start my order until I arrive. I’ve asked several times if it is a policy of theirs, and they say it isn’t. What’s the point of calling in an order?

Service was interesting. The busboy kept asking us if we wanted water and starred at us the whole time. It wasn’t bad, just funny. I enjoy water refills but when our glasses are full, they are full! When they close at 9:00pm that means arrive before 8:40pm to be seated and finish your food by 8:59! I wanted to taste the sauce of the daily chicken but they said they cannot do that unless you order it. The food came quickly and it all tasted fresh which we were impressed with. Unfortunately the flavors of two of the chicken dishes were a little off and no spice at all which we missed. Mongolian beef was decent and we liked the vegetable chowmein. We liked sitting at the table with the«lazy susan» since there was five of us and we could share the dishes. We did not have a bad experience but there was enough we didn’t like which means we probably won’t be back again.

This place was ok if you’re desperate to settle for some basic Asian cuisine… The fried rice was pretty bad though… It seriously tasted like doughnuts… I know, weird right? Their Hot n Sour soup was«ok». Their won ton soup tastes like any other won ton soup that doesn’t get screwed up… It was up to par. And their Kung pao chicken tastes like any other generic Kung pao chicken… Nothing fabulous or special about this place. I’d rather drive a ½ mile down the road and go to Dignity Dragon.
