they always help me whether on the phone or in person. I feel guilty as I have called them more often than I have bought things there, but they are always happy to answer my questions. We have bought plants, fruit trees, shrubs, and roses, and those have turned out well. I would definitely recommend them for yard questions.

After going to Home Depot and getting told Japanese Maples aren’t in season– we went here and found a HUGE selection of Japanese Maples! We were very impressed with the staff’s knowledge, Zack had many recommendations and walked us through our purchase. Ended up buying two trees even though we just came for the one. Highly recommend this place and will continue to come here for all of our landscaping needs

I really like this place. Lots of stock to choose from, some of it unusual that I can’t find anywhere else. The staff is excellent. I went lately to buy an Arkansas Black bare root apple tree– Brittany was very helpful, she walked me thru everything I had to do to plant, prune and feed the tree. She was very patient and extremely knowledgable. I will keep coming back here as well as recommend it to my friends.

Front Yard Nursery is the best. The staff is very helpful, the classes are very informative and the plants are always healthy. If I have a question on anything they do their best to help.

I have lived in many places throughout California and shopped many Nurseries. Front Yard Nursery is the very BEST of all I have been to. I have known Richard, the owner for several years. He is very knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge. He is honest and decent. They have a large selection of drought tolerant and indigenous plants. They specialize in rapidly growing conifers. A lot of their plants are grown in their own greenhouses and a lot of care and nurturing goes into their growth. Sure, you can buy plants at one of the Big Box stores but these plants are not as healthy or strong as they are grown under commercial methods to just turn around inventory for quick profit. Also Front Yard Nursery employees 15 people… this is great for our local economy. And I find Front Yard Nursery’s employees happy to help and explain growing techniques and share info. If you come into shop on a rainy day, you get 15% off.(Yes, I know we are in a drought, but do not fear, it will rain again.) They have other promos and clinics too. I depend on their informative newsletter.

I stopped by this nursery while visiting a friend in the area. I was immediately impressed by the layout and organization of the nursery. They have a wonderful set of demonstration gardens that line the edge of the parking lot, with examples like a garden to attract hummingbirds, a garden to attract bees, a succulent garden, etc. One of the employees helped us with a couple of things that we were looking for — he proved to have a wealth of knowledge and was eager to share. They also had a great selection of seeds. We are looking forward to planting and hopefully harvesting the Quinoa seeds that we purchased.

I am so happy I found this place. I had been searching for specific hard to find plants and this place had everything I needed. I had been everywhere including all the Box Stores and Private Nurseries like Capital and Green Acres. It’s kind of a No Frills Nursery compared to places like Bushnell Nursery in Granite Bay in terms of the Grounds but they are very organized and their sections are even Alphabetized. I was kinda shocked at how easy it was to find things. I recommend this place if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. Their prices on Shrubs is competitive with Big Box Stores but their Annuals might compare more with an Independent Nursery like Green Acres. Check them out if you have a reason to take a little trip up to Placerville. The Service was great and the people were friendly and knowledgeable.

Front Yard is just about my only source for gardening needs. I’m into my seventh year of home gardening and have been frequenting Front Yard all this time. They always seem to have just what I need(healthy trees and plants) and a large selection each. I also receive their very informative news letter and have taken just about all the free classes offered at the nursery. The classes on organic gardening and fruit tree trimming were also very informative. Never had an issue with any of the plants or products purchased there. They offer lots of non-hybird veggie plants; and I’m told they stock plants and trees that will grow in our area(unlike the box stores). Best of all are the people working at Front Yard. Always helpful, informative, and nice.

I love visiting Front Yard Nursery. The people there are always very helpfull and friendly. I have purchased several trees here and they are all doing great(excetp for the walnut tree the gophers ate). The reture policy is really good(learned that when they replaced the walnut tree) and you get 15% off on rainy days. They also hold classes here, although I have never been.
